Oh my goooooodness. I wondered how long it would take before the propaganda and lie machine would start up. Yasir Arafat was poisoned. There was a massacre at Jenin. The Jews carried out the 9/11 attacks. The Holocaust never happened. Gee whiz, it just never stops.

And everywhere, all across the Muslim world, heads will nod, "Of course, those dratted Israelis would poison the land. It is to be expected. How can we not doubt this information is true?"

What is it with these people. At some point, you have to think they are all suffering from some terrible sociopathy. They can't all be mentally deficient, can they?

Oh, so first Israel was poisoning the Palestinians with radiation, then it was poisoning the wells(a story almost identical to today's), and now it is poisoning Gaza land. What's next? Doves of peace, sent by Israel as a sign of reconciliation, dropping infected poop on the heads of the Palestinians?

PS: I regret to say it, I hate to say it, I hate to be so doubting of human nature, and yet - I think Granny has hit the head on the nail with the septic tank thing. I don't want to believe it, I really don't, and yet that itching intuitive instinct of mine (evidently a powerful one; see above) tells me that in actual fact that's what it is. That's it. Whether it's a deliberate deception ("a septic tank, you say? well, we'll say it's poisonous - I mean, you can't drink it, right? right") or whether the first numbskull on the scene actually didn't know what they were, I think it could well turn out to be that.

The sheer craziness of Muslim Arab society, the ease with which the most fantastic rumors are spread and believed, could be seen by the whole world after the World Trade Center attacks. The attack was not, could not, possibly be by Arabs; it had to be the Mossad, working with or without the C.I.A. And at the same time, it was a very great attack, one that the U.S. had coming to it, and bravo Bin Laden. And now that Bin Laden on tape has claimed credit for the attack, four years later, we have professors at Al Azhar University [sic] continuing to insist that those attacks were the product of the Mossad.

In the same way, when the Mosque at Mecca was seized in November 1979, it did not matter that the attackers were Muslims. All over the Muslim world there were threats, and attacks (most notably in Pakistan) on the real instigators of the seizure of the mosque in Mecca -- the Americans, of course.

The Israelis "poisoned" Arafat. The Americans plotted to kill -- and may have killed, in Arab eyes -- Nasser. Everything from the simoom on down can be attributed to the workings of the perfidious Infidels, and particularly the Israelis.

This craziness can be explained. In the shadow-world, the dream-world, the nightmare-world, of Islam, reality goes back to the dim 7th century. The real reality, real, realer, realist reality of all, is that of Muhammad and His Companions. To us it sounds like a rock group. To them , it sounds like -- well, everything good and true and upright. And if he did take pleasure in the decapitation of prisoners, in the assassination of mocking poets, in the fornication with 9 year old Aisha -- so what? He did it. He is uswa hasana, the model for all time. So there must be something wrong with our standards. Who the hell are we to judge Muhammad?

Islam is all about submission. Intellectual submission, mental submission. This has its effects. It prevents, or works against, the habit of skepticism. Free and skeptical inquiry were exhibited, in the earliest days of Islam, by the most intelligent people who called themselves "Muslims" even if, upon examination, one discovers how little their thought had to do with orthodox Islam. The greatest scientist to come out of "Islamic" civlization, ar-Rhazi (Rhazes) had viws which were hardly orthodox, and to many he was a heretic. Within a century or two, such people as ar-Rhazi would not have been permitted to express the kind of opinions he somehow got away with.

If one is unused to the kind of mental freedom taht the West now takes, after centuries of development, for granted, one is likely to see the world as through a primitive glass (labelled Islam) quite darkly. The main division of the wolrd is not between Truth and Error, but between Believer (who represents Truth) and Infidel (who represents Error). That way madness lies.

So the rumors, the craziness, will go on forever. In the middle of the Six Day War, Nasser makes claims about the devastating defeat he is inflicting on the Israelis, and the entire Arab world believes him. And the same thing goes for Arafat. The phony atrocities, rigged up and then attributed to the Israelis, like that supposed "killing" of Muhammad al-Dura, convince a great many. Indeed, the Arabs first created the "Palestinian people" for obvious political reasons -- see Zuheir Mohsen's famous admission that the "Palestinian people do not exist" in Der Trouw -- and now they have come to believe their own fable, and to be indignant about entirely imaginary events.

Even non-Muslim Arabs can, if they have been sufficiently affected by the surrounding Muslims, repeat nonsense. I remember the Greek Orthodox lady from Lebanon, who seemed so sensible, so entirely Western, if a bit hysterical at the edges, who then began to calmly explain to a group of Infidels that, "as everyone knows, the Is-ra-el-is send over bees to Lebanon that are infected, so that they will poison our bees and destroy our honey industry in order to help their own honey-makers." When we began to protest, in a mild way, it was clear that she thought we were all naive not to believe that those dastardly Israelis would be incapable of doing such a thing to destroy those nice Lebanese bees.

One must take note of the prevalence of such nonsense, and what's more, understand how it is related to Islam itself.

Indeed, American soldiers returning from Iraq can supply their own examples of such Muslim credulity, craziness, and willingness to believe anything of those Infidels, and to explain away anything from fellow Muslims (in Iraq, provided they are of the same sect). Were Iraqi children blown up as they clamored for candy being handed out by kind American soldiers? Well, in the Iraqi version, widely believed, it was the Americans who lured the Iraqi children with candy and then deliberately massacred them, it was the Americans who....you get the idea).

We are sane, our enemies are crazy, or at least close to it.

The "Palestinians" will fail to develope Gaza primarily because of their laziness, incompetence and corrupt leadership.The Jews developed the land through hard work and sacrifice, concepts that seems alien to most Muslims.This story about Isreal poisoning the land appears to be a preemptive strike to explain away the "Palestinians" almost certain failure.

What a large engineering project that would be, digging a hole 19.69 US survey feet deep or 19 feet 8 inches (US) under a building that is sitting atop sandy soil. Unless the buildings were completely demolished then removed, then excavate a 20 foot deep hole,
insert toxic material, fill hole in, demolished building pushed back into place. And what did those settlers or the IDF do with the extra spoils, just pile it on the side of the road?
Are there spoils piles all over Gaza or was that the sand they are accused of stealing?

Why go though all that work, when pouring the toxic material right on the sandy soil would more effective.

Incidentally I have seen a number of “Allah is a Nazi” graffiti in Copenhagen and a friend who lives in Malmoe, Sweden, tells me she has seen them there too. It seems the cat is out of sack now and evidently rambles further and further each day.

Interestingly, at least in Copenhagen, these graffiti are almost always scribbled on advertisement posters – not directly on walls. That’s my kind of vandal!
