Qaeda says Islamic sharia must be only law in Iraq

If I had the choice to choose between Jesus Christ or Mohammed, I would clearly have to choose Christ. Christ is the Prince of Peace. Mohammed ruled with the sword. Jesus Christ is the last prophet, while Mohammed is a false prophet. Christ performed miracles; Mohammed did not. Christ is utterly holy. Mohammed's actions are utterly ungodly. Sharia law is nothing but a fabrication by a bunch of power hungry, male chauvinist pigs that are still living in the Middle Ages.

Suppose in order to keep the Americans there, doing the real fighting against the Sunnis for them, and in order to keep the American money flowing (and are the Americans building a base or two that will fall into our laps? will we be able to string them along for another year? Half-year?), the Shi'a might well agree to downplay Islam in the Constitution. So what? They can wait. They can have Americans being blown up on the frontier with Syria, in what is clearly not an insurgency but a civil war, a war in which two kinds of Sunnis, the Al-Zarkawi kind (that regard Shi'a as Infidels), and the Ba'athist kind (that simply want Sunni Arabs to remain on top, and so, while not endorsing al-Zarkawi's views on feminine fashion, are happy to join with him in making war on the Shi'a -- and first of all, on the Infidel Americans who are protecting, and fighting for, those Shi'a in the dreamy belief of the American government officials that the Americans are actually fighting for "democracy" and for the creation of a "Light-Unto-the-Muslim-Nations."

Once the Americans withdraw, the Sunnis and the Shi'a can go at it, unhindered. After a certain amount of chaos and bloodletting, perhaps continuing over years and involving outside Shi'a from Iran, and outside Sunnis from Jordan, Saudi Arabia, and those from the Syria whom the Alawite regime will be happy to off-load into Iraq, so as to preserve Syria for the Alawite military caste that is so doubtful, in Muslim eyes, because of its dangerous syncretism (i.e., its worship of Miriam).

Making too much of some new "compromise" over the Constitution -- please, no articles from the Bush Bright-Young-Conservative claque telling us that indeed, Democracy Is On the March and We Told You So. Please. Have a little decency, if not intelligence.

The U.S. Consitituion was the basis for the defeated Third Reich and the Empire of Japan's new constitutions in the late 1940's.

The same should have been the only blueprint allowed after the defeat of the Baathist fascists in Iraq.

Anything less guarantees an Iran-lite, and civil war- with the Kurd seceding, and Sunnis and Shiites slaughtering one another.

Good plan Rummy, Colin, Condi, Cheney and W.

Well-thought out.

If you start a fight, finish it.

And finish it in a way that leaves you at SOME advantage once it's over.

Otherwise, what the hell's the point?

Sharia Law in Iraq's constitution, however well cloaked, is a poison pill for freedom.

Iraqi expats barred from voting on constitution

WASHINGTON — The Iraqi Electoral Commission will not allow Iraqi expatriates to vote on a new constitution, effectively locking out a quarter-million votes from mostly religious minorities living in the United States, Britain and other countries.

The decision, revealed by commission member Fareed Ayar in a telephone interview Tuesday, will alienate the Christian minorities, who make up most Iraqi exiles.

"You're changing the entire demographics of the country. If we don't vote, then we'll all be forced to leave there," said Nahrain Kamber, a ChaldoAssyrian in Palo Alto, Calif. , who cast her ballot from the United States in historic January elections for a national assembly.

"Given the history of what's been going on with the Christian minorities ... it looks like Iraq will be an Islamic state, as scary as that is."

Of 3.5 million Iraqi Christians, more than half are expatriates, with concentrations in the U.S. and Syria.

The current draft of the constitution says ChaldoAssyrian Christians would be subject to Shariah law, a strict form of Islam.

Of course this consitution is not new, it is basically the same constitution that was approved in 2003 by Jay Gardner, that made Islam the official religion and Shari'a the basis of law and constitution.

And it was Wolfowitz who eulogized Ayatollah al Hakim, the then recently assassinated head of SCIRI (the Iranian supported Shi'a Supreme Council for the Islamic Revolution in Iraq, whose members are now elected and writing that new constitution) as "the Abraham Lincoln of his country".

Looks to me like the plan all along was to make Iraq a Shi'ite theocracy and an adjunct and ally of the Mullahcracy of Iran...

Which of course should be obvious, since most certainly the neo cons and planners in the think tank knew that the Shi'a were the majority and would win any election, and that SCIRI was an adjunct of the Iranian Revolutionary Council whose leader is Ayatollah Khameini.
