Radio jihad broadcasts in Britain

Some are calling to close it down. Why have the British dhimmis allowed it to broadcast for this long? "Calls to close 'dissident' radio," from The Evening Standard, with thanks to Dave Washburn:

The Government is facing demands to close down a London-based radio station broadcasting calls for attacks on British troops in Iraq.
Al-Tajdeed Radio, which is run by a prominent Saudi dissident, has close links with a website carrying films of terrorist bombings and beheadings. It also carries songs calling on Muslims to join the holy war against coalition forces.

The radio broadcasts in Iraq and Saudi Arabia. The man behind the station is Dr Muhammad al-Massari.

He has lived in London since first seeking asylum there in 1994. He has frequently declared that British troops in Iraq are legitimate targets.

Patrick Mercer, shadow minister for homeland security, said the Government should close down the station and look at deporting Dr al-Massari.

He said the broadcasts were demoralising for British troops in Iraq.

"To hear jihad talk, albeit in Arabic, being broadcast out to Iraq where you are trying to do your job as a soldier, a policeman or whatever, I think it must be desperately demoralising," he said.

"It should be closed down."

Gee, you think so?

Strange, isn't it. He's described as a Saudi dissident, but he's pro-Jihad, just as much as the regime he claims to despise. Kind of reminds me of a cartoon that appeared in a Canadian newspaper when news came out about arch-conservative Canadian business magnate (and now disgraced British peer) Conrad Black marrying similarly rightist columnist Barbara Amiel. It was of a boatload of Visigoths dismissing the couple as "too right wing" for them.

Saudi dissident (and too many middle Eastern dissidents and refugee claimants) = people who don't think their governments are Islamist enough.

and to think that the radio authority has issued yellow cards to premier christian radio for warning people against dabbling in the occult and for saying that homosexual practice is incompatible with christian living, and yet theyve been allowing this? i think tony blair has just lost the script totally, ever since he fell under the spell of george w bush. what does the W stand for anyway? is it wilberforce or wally? the next thing will be that we stop christian prayer and witness in schools, just like theyve done in yankland. btw i hope everyone in uk will be protesting most loudly at forthcoming law against so called "incitement to religious hatred" not that im in favour of hatred, its just that im in favour of what many bigots view as hatred, but which i call plain straight honest talk. the freedom to engage in this will be endangered if bliar gets his way.

Here in the States our LLL is just about as bad. They call us the most terrorist country on earth, and claim we are the cause of everything bad. They just have to keep the thin veneer of "we support the troops". Sure you do.

We have an Islamic radio station in Sydney, which kicks out an amazingly strong signal. It's probably one of the clearest radio broadcasts in town.

Now and again it has English language programmes and phone-ins. I listened in once to a competition: the first person to phone in with the names of the world's continents received a prize. Obviously you would think that the prize would be snapped up in 30 seconds, as any schoolboy who had done his geography homework or any ignorant semi-literate oaf with an atlas could have claimed the loot. But no, for Sydney's Muslim community "name the continents" was an incredible intellectual challenge. Caller after caller got it wrong. One thought China was a continent, another thought America was a continent and gave up after naming but three (including “Europa”) – and so it went on. After many agonizing minutes somebody finally got it right and listed them. The radio presenter then hesitated, a rustling of paper could be heard as she slowly mumbled to herself. She didn’t know - and had to consult her notes! “Yes that’s right!” she belatedly declared.

Who said Muslim radio could not be funny?

Your story is disheartening. It indicates that educational standards are really going down. It semms to be a general malaise acroos the Western world. So this case you wrote, maybe just part of that general tendency.

OTH, it maybe that the listeners were searching the koran for the answer, as all that is to be known is to be found in it.

Yet another muslim Doctor. Dr of taqiyya/kitman most likely, with a specialty in radio propaganda...close him down...or better yet confiscate his station and sell/give it to a Christian broadcasting company..

Unfortunately, Timbo, you could probably get the same result with a lot of non-Muslim radio and TV stations. You ought to read some of the howlers that are published every two weeks on Private Eye magazine, under the heading "Dumb Britain" (occasionally "Dumb America" or "Dumb Australia").
