Terror rockets fly from Gaza

Peace in our time continues to reign in Israel. From WND, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

Driving home fears Palestinian terror groups will use land gained by Israel's Gaza evacuation to launch rockets deeper inside the Jewish state, two Qassams today were fired at western Negev towns as Israeli troops prepared the Gaza Strip for handover in the next few weeks.

One rocket hit the populated Negev town of Sderot, about 10 miles outside Gaza's Gush Katif slate of former Jewish communities. Another landed in an open field just outside Sderot. The Popular Resistance Committees terror group in Gaza – made up of Fatah, Hamas and Islamic Jihad militants – claimed responsibility for the attack.

The Israeli Defense Forces so far has not responded to the attack, prompting Sderot's mayor to file a complaint with Prime Minister Ariel Sharon's office. Mayor Eli Moyal said Sharon previously warned rockets fired into the western Negev after Israel's Gaza evacuation would be met with a stern response.

Knesset Member Eli Yishai today told Israel National News the rockets fired at Sderot were just an “appetizer” for what is yet to come.

“Even before we have turned off the engines of uprooting and expulsion, our fears have proven true. The dream of an end to the season of Qassams has been shattered,” Yishai said.

My God, it's Sderot again. I honestly cannot even comprehend the degree of its residents' courage and resovle that enables them to go on with their lives after years of terrorist attacks and, most recently, after the voluntary expulsion which didn't bring them a step closer to safety.

If I were them, I'd march on Jerusalem demanding Ariel Sharon to resign. But they only mount a complaint. Verily, their patience is limitless.

Clearly this is a Zionist plot after all Islam is a religion of peace.

That was the appetizer, this is the salad course. Comments in brackets from Aaron Lerner, founder of IMRA. Please note that the "Palis"--certainly their leaders, spokesmen, and it seems large numbers of their rank and file, are not simply murderers and whopper-telling liars but also ingrates. It would be funny if it weren't so tragic. They can't compete with Israel so their solutions is: destroy the competition. Destroy themselves. Destroy everything.

+++JORDAN TIMES 25 Aug.'05:
"What's growing in the greenhouses?"
Michael Jansen
QUOTES FROM TEXT:
"Compensation to settlers evacuating illegally occupied territory
contravenes the Fourth Geneva Convention and customary international law."
"The tie-in with Agrexco is certain to perpetuate Israel's colonial
control over at least the output of the greenhouses"
"USAID was set to buy the greenhouses with funds allocated for the
Palestinians until the Palestinian Authority objected to using assistance
monies to compensate Israeli settlers."
"In the Israeli greenhouses, 1,000 dunums are planted with organic crops,
but Palestinians have very little experience in tending the range of plants
in the Israeli greenhouses."
"some of the greenhouses ... had to meet strict rabbinic requirements
....Palestinians will not be in a position to meet these requirements."
"wealthy businessmen closely tied to the Palestinian Authority could use
the greenhouses as a money-making proposition at the expense of ordinary
Palestinians living under intolerable conditions in the Gaza Strip."
-------------------------------------------------------------------------EXCERPTS:As Israeli settlers in Gush Katif commenced to dismantle or destroy theirspecialised greenhouses in preparation for Israel's withdrawal from the GazaStrip, one of the architects of the Oslo peace process, Yossi Beilin, established the Economic Cooperation Foundation [IMRA: Established years ago. How much did it get for the transaction?] to rescue the greenhouses for the Palestinians. The Quartet's coordinatorfor the evacuation, James Wolfensohn, helped raise funds and put $500,000 ofhis own money into the scheme. Wolfensohn also approached New York DailyNews owner Mortimer Zucherman, a strong supporter of Israel ... .Eventually, $14 million was found to buy the greenhouses from the settlers. [IMRA: Said to be entirely from Jews.] The first payment was paid during the pull-out, the second is due to behanded over after Israel's army finally leaves the Strip. This looks like a commendable initiative but,
in reality, is totallyillegal. Payment of compensation to settlers evacuating illegally occupiedterritory contravenes the Fourth Geneva Convention and customaryinternational law. [IMRA: It doesn't.]Authoritative sources also said Wolfensohn's personal contribution to thefund to compensate the settlers was "inappropriate", since he is an officialcoordinating the withdrawal and transfer process. ... Palestinian Authoritywent along with this plan and hurriedly established a private firm, thePalestinian Economic Development Company (PEDC), to handle the hand-over andoperation of the greenhouses....Under the settler regime the entire 4,000 dunums of greenhouses yielded$100 million in revenue a year ... . Seventy per cent was exported toIsrael, 30 per cent abroad. ... .... PEDC ... made an agreement for the sale of produce to Israel's largestagricultural import firm, Agrexco. ... The tie-in with Agrexco is certainto perpetuate Israel's colonial control over at least the output of
thegreenhouses. [IMRA: Better if Israeli companies refused?]In spite of the questionable legality and propriety of the buy-up plan, those supporting the scheme argue that the Palestinians will benefit fromthe income generated by the greenhouses and the 4,000 Palestinians who hadbeen working in the greenhouses will keep their jobs. ... .Presumably the terms of employment of greenhouse staff will remain the samein order to preserve the advantage of exploitative low labour costs.... Agricultural experts do not see the greenhouses as a viable Palestinianproject. The World Bank, which Wolfensohn used to head, adopted this view. But USAID, which issued a report last February on the development of thePalestinian agricultural sector, favours the Palestinian take-over of thegreenhouses. Indeed, USAID was set to buy the greenhouses with fundsallocated for the Palestinians until the Palestinian Authority objected tousing assistance monies to compensate Israeli settlers.Abdel Karim Ashour,
deputy director general of the Palestinian AgriculturalDevelopment Association, said: " ... There is already too much land devotedto greenhouses. We consume only 30 per cent of our agricultural productionand the rest cannot be marketed locally. Export depends on Israel which is acompetitor. Therefore, another 3,000-4,000 dunums of greenhouses from thesettlements constitute a burden rather than an opportunity. If theproduction is sold on the local market, it will harm small farmers."In the Israeli greenhouses, 1,000 dunums are planted with organic crops, butPalestinians have very little experience in tending the range of plants inthe Israeli greenhouses."We have been working with an Egyptian company for two years and can dealwith three products now," he asserted. Another source said that some of thegreenhouses ... had to meet strict rabbinic requirements ... arket.Palestinians will not be in a position to meet these requirements.. . .Ashour also said that wealthy businessmen
closely tied to the PalestinianAuthority could use the greenhouses as a money-making proposition at theexpense of ordinary Palestinians living under intolerable conditions in theGaza Strip.

Looks like more Jewish propaganda.

Those rockets were probably planted by Israeli soldiers.

Definitely a trick to dis-credit the poor Palestinians.

but, why do they hate us..what are the root causes?why?why? why?

nevermind..let's just killem!

Sending rockets of peace is the Palestinian way of saying "thank you". Surprised? Absolutely not.

Rockets? Surprise, surprise. Farouk's comments go beyond silly. Do you suppose he actually thinks anyone will believe his nonsense? This sort of comment leads one to wonder if there is a genetic disorder which prevents the development of a sharp intellect, honor, and just plain commonsense amonst Middle Easterners. Or, is it Islam which stunts growth? At any rate, let the killers all pile into the same spot. Makes the cleanup much easer.

Any payment to an Israeli for any reason contravenes the "Fourth Geneva Convention." Why are we surprised it violates the "Fourth" Geneva Convention? What do we expect conventions of the United Nations today to read when we give thirty votes to Islamic nations each of which was has never had a democratic government or a democratic election. This is why the U.N. human rights commission has been headed up by Libya, Syria and others. This is why the U.N. can only describe Zionism as terrorism and racism. Throw out U.N. members who are not democratically elected. Why give a vote to those whose only claim to vote is that they were violent, corrupt and deceitful enough to murder and mayhem and dominate and control a modern cesspool country? Throw out these scoundrel members or shut the U.N. down. This esteemed body has already set in motion a process to criminalize, sanction and punish the leaders of the U.K., U.S. and others as war criminals for overthrowing the charitable humanist and prior full voting member Sadaam Hussein and other kindred corrupt criminals who keep power in unimaginably despicable ways. The U.N. legitimizes so of the worst ills in the modern world.

Lady Texas;

"...or is it islam that stunts growth?..."

Exactly. No independent ideas, no critical thought, no discussion, dissent, debate, no questioning, no disagreement, no alternative.

No second thoughts or second guessing, no changing your mind, no backing out.

Gives a tragic and ominous new meaning to that old one-liner; "If I want your opinion I'll give it to you".

A juggernaut of humanity waiting to be told what to believe, think, and do.

David England

Well said sir,

I for one am having a terrible time actually getting my MP, or the PM or FS to actually engage & answers questions with regards to the UN.

I have written countless times now to the Foreign Secretary (both to "shagger" Blunkett & the new clown Prince) asking him to confirm that we, Great Britain, can withdraw from the 1951 Convention on Refugees anytime we please - all to no avail.

"Niether the Minister, nor his department, is available to respond to your request for indepth information with regards this matter at this time. I can assure you that Her Majesty's Government takes the issues you have raised very seriously, & we are working with our partners around the world to address.....yadda yadda"

Sir Humphrey Appleby could not be more evasive, elusive & deceptive.

Lady Texas and T-ham:

Check out other posts from Farouk. He was just being sarcastic. (Agreed, it wouldn't by easy to tell from what he wrote above unless you can recall his previous posts. I have to say I'm not sure Farouk is his real name or just a screen alias.)

If there is any good that can be said about this it's that continued terror is certain to bring about the fall of Sharon's government. Early indications are September 1st being set for the no confidence vote and call for new elections.

Persistant stabbings and rocket launchings will likely strengthen right wing factions within Likud, as well as anti-expulsion Zionist parties, National Union and NRP.
