Interesting: a Jihad disinformation brigade. I wonder if they have enlisted the help of Karen Armstrong and John Esposito. From the SITE Institute, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
The Jihad Information Brigade issued their second statement today, August 19, 2005, claiming that they disseminated their propaganda about the “reality of the defeat facing Allah’s enemies in Iraq,” to approximately 1,600 websites and e-mails, including more than 60,000 people in the military, including their families, and “some of the public figures.”...The Brigade states that their goal is to unveil the reality of the situation in Iraq, which is allegedly covered up by the “conspiracies prepared by the infidel countries.” On March 7, 2005, the Jihad Information Brigade issued their first statement, boasting of sending similar messages to soldiers and their families in a variety of languages, with the goal of demoralizing the soldiers and “break the grasp of the Jews over the media.”
Yes, the "grasp of the Jews over the media" is no doubt responsible for all the stories about the Palestinians celebrating their victory in Gaza.
There is no defeat in Iraq. The American forces cannot be defeated militarily or in any other way. The question of whether they are now being misallocated, and should be put to more effective use directly against the Jihad, and not used to suppress a Sunni insurgency which might serve Infidel interests if it were fought directly against the Shi'a, and they could respond in kind (as they would), is not about "defeat" for Americans but about understanding that "democracy" in Iraq is supported by the Sh'a only because they constitute 60% of the population, and that "democracy" does not have any affect on the durability and influence of Islam. And if one wishes to diminish the power and influence of Islam, that can only come about if enough people born into Islam begin to become aware that their own political, economic, social, and intellectual failures are a result of Islam. That is a hard thing for them to grasp. It has taken 25 years of the Islamic Republic of Iran for more than a handful of Iranians to come to understand that. It may take as long in Iraq, or longer. But it can only be achieved without the Americans placing their innocent hopes on the unproven notion that "everyone wants freedom." A good many people want to continue enduring the totalitarian mental manacles of Islam. And there are non-Muslims eager for submitting themselves to the same thing.
Every occasion to exploit the fissures within Islam, the weaknesses within Islam, should be sought. Iraq presents two such fissures. They are waiting to be exploited.
But an "American defeat"? Not possible. It took only three divisions to smash and seize all of Iraq -- and without the fourth one permitted in from Turkey. Only the Americans can defeat themselves, or at least needlessly squander their own resources, by seeking the wrong goal, and ignoring what is there to be used, if only we properly understood things, and recognized these opportunities.
Imho Iran will not care much about any direct retaliation upon the Iranian people and would willfully maytr the whole of Iran to nuke Baghdad in Iraq.
I would guess that three dirty nukes >(ground level) of only a kiloton each around and or in the green zones would be sufficient to wipe out a large portion of our forces there, If it were it within my power, I would begin strikes upon Iran sites as soon as the generals could get the correct packages together. They will use their nukes soon after getting them.
