The Home Secretary said that further expulsions were imminent and that it would be “absolutely foolish” to assume that there will not be a third terrorist attack in London.The security services and immigration officials are understood to have drawn up a list of foreign extremists to be deported. Many are understood to be young clerics who have come in recent years from Pakistan and North Africa. These so-called preachers of hate are not as well known as clerics such as Abu Qatada and Omar Bakri Mohammed but are seen as stirring up hatred and extremism among young followers.
Muslim leaders have been consulted about a number of the suspects who are expected to be arrested shortly. Their identities are being kept secret for fear that the men may go into hiding before arrests can be made. As well as clerics, the list is understood to include owners of radical Islamic bookshops, writers, a number of teachers and website operators of different nationalities....
A two-week consultation period which ends on Friday will allow the Government to introduce new rules to exclude people from Britain. In future unacceptable behaviour will include fomenting terrorism or seeking to provoke others to terror, justifying terrorism, fomenting other serious criminal activity, fostering hatred which may lead to intra-community violence, advocating violence in support of particular beliefs and expressing what the Government considers to be extreme views conflicting with Britain’s culture of tolerance.
It will apply to anyone preaching, public speeches, websites and those writing, publishing or distributing such material. British diplomats have been told to speed up their negotiations to get more countries to sign a deal to take militants who have been expelled.

It is not enough merely to deport the loudest, fattest and most heavily bearded from Britain's saracen 'community'. It occurs to me that the jihad in the West subsides on the generosity of indigenous populations, and the Muslims' indifference to the risk of detection and punishment.
The solution? Repeal the wellfare state, and re instate capital punishment in cases of treason.

There is of course, the danger that in seeking to be even-handed, the British government may also seek to deport some that may be expressing "extreme views" on Muslims -- like those found on certain websites.
A word to the wise...
dgene, I must say that I find that offensive. Cherie Blair's views irritate me as much as any other Briton, but they are hardly representative of the breadth of feeling in our country. It is true that our struggle against the Umma is reaching its fruition a little late, but that is a result only of our traditions of generosity and hospitality. 7/7 has created a new political environment, and though I am no admirer of Blair, I do applaud these measures, and I do not think it is fair to equate him with neo-Marxist, fifth column jihadists such as Gerhard Schroeder.
The steps that Tony Blair's government is taking at the moment are the easy ones.
Some Mulana/Mufti from outside of the UK talking up Jihad .... send him back or don't allow him in.
That's easy.
What I am looking to see is what they will do to the home grown ones...the "British citizens".
Chuck them in Jail...but what happens when the numbers start to rocket and the population starts to talk up discrimination, because there are hunderds/thousands to arrest, each taking up £50,000 /year /prisoner.
In a lot of ways, it is too late, the jihadi enemy is already within. History shows us that in fact there is no solution. It will always be reacting ...and fire-fighting...

Nothing I have heard so far is close to solving this problem.
If the worst comes to the worst, the British government could solve the Islamic problem in a month by dusting off a few ancient laws, which would allow the Umma to be outlawed. They would then have no legal protection, and would be a legitimate target for anyone who wanted to take the defense of the realm into their own hands.

Agreed things look very bleak, but as bad as things are, there are still far too many people, whatever their faith or ethnicity, in denial or worse. On another thread, posted more recently by Robert, comes pronunciations from large British Muslim organizations warning against crackdowns on radical mosques, mullahs and organizations, saying this will only make matters worse, but they say nothing about their own responsibility to fully condemn reprehenisble acts and identify the perpetrators and their supporters. All they do is cry that their community is being demonized while Red Ken rolls out the carpet for Al-Qaradawi and vote for George [Goebbels] Galloway. (With friends like sleazy George, who needs enemies.) And if they won't help, who can or will?
I am afraid that you are right about what's yet in store to the extent that we are in for much greater violence before there's a really concerted effort to defeat jihaddism and that concerted effort will make what it took to defeat Hitler and his allies look like childs' play.
The political ignorance some of these comments exhibit is incredible. Waterdragon, Livingstone and Galloway are political enemies. St.Dunstan, Schroeder is less Marxist than I am, and his home policies have been nothing but watered-down Blairism. And the Welfare State benefits middle-class whites more than any other group - learn some sociology before you parade your ignorance on these pages.
And exactly how does one 'learn' sociology? I consider that no more a practical proposition than 'learning' art, or 'learning' opinion.
- I did not say that the wellfare state was created for the 'benifit' muslims alone, but I see it as an unecessary evil in any case. That, however, is another rant.

I was not trying to connect Livingstone with Galloway. (My point is that the Muslim community cries that it is being picked on. Red Ken makes nice with a notorious promoter of jihad and attacks MEMRI for outing him. And the Muslim community voted for Galloway despite his notorious corruption and womanizing.)
As for the enmity between Livingstone and Galloway, it don't surprise me. Politicians are natural egomaniacs, but Kenny and George are such unbridled ego maniacs that they were both expelled from the Labour Party. I don't know how common such expulsions are, but I'd hazard a guess that they are fairly rare.
