U.S. Embassy in Saudi Closes for 2 Days

But still no sign that the U.S. will be calling them to account for their double game anytime soon, despite the fact that they need us as much as we need them. From AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia (AP) - The U.S. Embassy and consulates in Saudi Arabia will be closed Monday and Tuesday because of a threat against U.S. government buildings, the embassy said Sunday.

In a statement, the embassy said mission personnel will limit their nonofficial travel during the next two days and urged Americans to keep "a high level of vigilance." The statement did not elaborate on the nature of the threat.

"The American Embassy in Riyadh advises all American citizens living in Saudi Arabia that, in response to a threat against U.S. government buildings in the kingdom, the U.S. Embassy in Riyadh and the U.S. consulate generals in Jiddah and Dhahran will be closed on Aug. 8 and 9," the statement said.

It reminded Americans that, in the past, terrorist groups have targeted housing compounds and other establishments where Westerners may be located.

"American citizens are ... advised to exercise caution and maintain good situational awareness when visiting commercial establishments frequented by Westerners or in primarily Western environments," the statement added.

It was the second warning in two weeks.

On July 25, the embassy warned Americans that militants likely were plotting new terror attacks in the kingdom. It said U.S. military personnel stationed in Saudi Arabia had been instructed to suspend all off-duty leisure travel outside of their work or housing stations.

I saw an article today saying that the Saudis were going to repatriate 360 billion from the West. I think, I hope our leaders have been getting a few more clues to what is going on and the Saudis are worried their favorite stooges may be learning a little too much about Islam's goals and their two faced friends, the Saudis. One can dream...

(W)ahabbster and the Wahabbis...combatting muslim terror around the world (BARF).

Boom!

Every time the Embassy and Consulate close down, it becomes that much harder for Saudis to obtain visas, and that is a good thing.

As for the story of Saudis repatriating -- i.e., shifting liquid assets -- from the West, this is often raised as a matter to spread entirely unnecessary fear. The fear is unnecessary because whatever stocks are sold, whatever money taken out of American banks, the money will come right back -- if the investments are sound. For where else would the money go? Imagine, if you will, shares of stock on Company A are sold purely for political reasons. They then are, in eocnomic terms, undervalued. Other investors will realize that the stock price has gone down for non-economic reasons and promptly move in to buy the undervalued stock. Indeed, some of those financial intermediaries may have been the recipients of the Saudi money that has been withdrawn.

It is precisely the same as with those companies threatened by the antisemitic anti-Israel campaigners among a few denominations that have been infiltrated by both "Palestianian" islamochristians, and by those who, wrappying themselves in the mantle of Christianity, use that to promote a highly tendentious and ill-concealed agenda, that for some reason -- a reason we all know -- has as its real reason for being the desire to do Israel in, using whatever plausible excuse comes to hand, including the supposed outrages committed by Israel in defending itself against a relentless Arab and Muslim Jihad. Let us assume the Presybterian Church "disinvests" in John Deere. Deere stock goes down, very temporarily, and then other investors rush in to snap up the stock because it has for non-economic reasons been undervalued.

Even if the Saudis were to take what they could of their liquid assets and put them into European banks, those banks would in turn invest in the very holdings in the United States that were now, with the Saudi withdrawal of funds, undervalued.

In other words, it is largely a false threat by the Saudis. There might be a hiccup of disruption, but not more. And should such an event occur, in any case, it could trigger the immediate seizure of Saudi illiquid assets, including all that real estate owned by various members of the Al-Saud, and their hangers-on and fixers and middlemen, who also have large holdings in the West, and especially in the United States. There would be no reason not to do so -- Saudi Arabia uses much of its wealth to make war, through the Jihad which its money helps to encourage in a thousand ways. Well, we have economic weapons, far more effective ones, that can be used against Saudi Arabia.

And the overnight removal of tens of thousands of Western experts -- from petroleum engineers to doctors -- would bring Saudi Arabia to a halt. They might try to replace American and other Westerners but it would be very difficult indeed.

Does closing the embassy for two days really accomplish anything? I believe that the average terrorist could reschedule any planned attack to a time when the embassy is open.

So More logic to close Saudi permantly and freeze the 360 billion and use it to delevlope an alternative fuel

It boils my blood to know that for decades certain business interests have thwarted the alternative energy industry. We could be well on our way to be free of these people if they hadn't been so interested in the almighty buck. In a way their behavior is treason for they were not concerned with the best interest of the United States. Come to think of it, they are still self-promoting as we are slowing going down the drain. I don't possess language vile enough to assign a name to them.
