It is doubtful that this jihad will be a spiritual struggle. From Israel Insider, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
The Palestinian Authority chairman Mahmoud Abbas said Wednesday that the Israeli withdrawal from Gaza must be a part of the "great Jihad" for building a Palestinian state, adding that Palestinians will never accept a state with Israeli settlements, their capital will be Jerusalem, and they won't settle for anything less than all 1967 land.Abbas included that he wished Arafat would be able to see the "fruits of a 40 year struggle", and "for the first time in Israeli racist settlement history the Palestinian dawn is rising."
Well, hello there. Arafat's 'struggle' was by no means a 'greater jihad', but rather vioelnt, remorseless terrorism against the elderly, the sick, the defenseless as well as women and children. If the 'moderate' Abu Mazen exhibits world's no 1 terrorist as a role model (that is clearly seen in his speech), I have very little doubt about how the Palestinians will understand his words. More mass murders will soon follow.

"..Arafat.."
Mr. Arafat regrets to inform you that he will be unable to witness the fruits of 40 years and, additionally, the palestinian dawn due to a prior commitment whereby his presence is required in Hell. He sends his warmest, REALLY warmest best wishes, and requests that should the rest of the billions he stole from the palestinian people be recovered, they be forwarded to him at the earliest convenient opportunity, along with some Mountain Dew, a bag of ice, and maybe one of those cool little umbrella hats
Israel ought to consider doing what needs to be done......right now.
I seem a precision-guided missile in Mr. Abbas' future. Hope Arafat warns him.
