A necessary bit of anti-dhimmitude. From [1] Channelnewsasia, with thanks to Daryl:
SYDNEY : Australian authorities said on Friday they were considering tightening citizenship rules to allow more comprehensive anti-terrorism screening of would-be nationals.A spokesman for Citizenship Minister John Cobb said the minimum two-year period that potential nationals currently have to be a resident in Australia before becoming eligible to take out citizenship could be extended.
"We're looking at a whole raft of things," he told AFP. "Extending the time of permanent residency from two years to perhaps three or four is something that's being looked at.
"If it's going to add value to our security then we would look at it."
Cobb's spokesman dismissed calls for naturalised Australians who have been convicted of terrorist offences to be stripped of their citizenship, saying migrant citizens would be treated the same way as those born in Australia.
