A Moroccan woman living in a small town in Belgium has single-handedly triggered a national debate on multiculturalism after refusing to obey a municipal injunction to stop wearing a burqa.The woman has now prompted politicians in the Dutch-speaking north of Belgium to talk about changing federal law, after she became the first person in Belgium to be fined for wearing the all-enveloping veil and robe.
She has so far refused to pay the £80 fine, or even to co-operate with police and municipal authorities in the Flemish town of Maaseik.
The woman's husband was named in a Brussels court yesterday as one of 13 men accused of aiding and abetting terrorists linked to the Madrid train bombings.
Khalid Bouloudo, 30, a pastry chef, is alleged to be the Belgian co-ordinator of the Groupe Islamique Combattant Marocain, an anti-western organisation linked to the Madrid blasts and the 2003 bombings in Casablanca that killed nearly 50 people.
The burqa, together with a smaller type of face mask, the niqab, has been banned by bylaw in the cities and towns of Ghent, Antwerp, Sint-Truden, Lebbeke and Maaseik.
Just send her to jail, is that so hard?

If she continues to a fish out of water, deport her to any place on planet Dhimmi where a woman can, by her own volition, delete herself from humanity. A woman "deciding" to surrender to Islam is probably the last decision she will ever have to make as a human being.
Women, like goods & chattle, have no rights in Islam, so those that live in the West & consider themselves to be "goods & chattle" should have no rights either. Make her feel at home. Why should we encrouch on her self enforced "stockholm syndrome"?
While this might be a little off the point, what I find remarkable is that daughters of the prophet demand the right to wear the burka when having their photograph taken for I.D. purposes?!

This seems a bit more serious than a long-term social problem, more like a chronic sociopathic disease that will erode and debilitate the entire society. But hey, if it's any consolation, we're all in the same boat! If America wasn't so far away from Islamic utopia, there would be millions more muslims here. But with time and unfettered immigration, I'm sure we'll catch up. After all, muslims have so much to contribute to every society; I'm counting my blessings as we speak!

an understatment to say the least.
Immigration to any country is a priviledge, NOT a RIGHT.
Immigration needs to be stopped or slowed to a trickle and limited to countries that are like-minded. (Non-muslim.)
I believe this can be accomplished quickly by reforming the support system of most countries. Call it what you will- the dole, benefits, social security, welfare, subsides, social benefits. So many immigrants seem to receive benefits of some kind - housing, cash, health care, (some seem to get cars and lavish housing but they are the exception) all kinds of hidden benefits, too, like free education for them to learn the new language and schooling for their large families (yes I realize schooling is needed). Translators and linguists for every government paper. Plus the new costs to monitor our security and increasing crime costs. They have not paid into the system and should not get paid from it. Immigrants from Africa often end up having their plane ticket paid for up front, then after arriving, it is discovered they have a chronic illness and cannot work to pay it back. They expose others to TB. Why would our country pay someone's way here? Why not check the health first of these people? This used to be standard practice but it was stopped. A cost benefits anaylsis needs to be done and sent to "the man in charge". On the one hand minimum wages which generate little or no taxes (unless it's on food) and can't possibly save Western retirement systems-(a Ponzi scheme always collapses eventually) especially since jobs are often not reported, on the other hand an endless payout that continues for the first, second and third generations.
Plus the polygamy issue is the DEATH KNELL. Four wives - three plus their large crop of children to be supported forever by the government. And since no father is physically in the home most of the time (since he is moving from one house to the next), the lack of fatherly discipline often leads to crime. Families of immigrants commiting crimes SHOULD have to wonder what it will do to them. Harsh, yes. And POLYGAMY NEEDS TO REMAIN ILLEGAL.
This could also apply to the "players" who leave children all over town. A DNA test at birth to prove who the father is leading to at least some minimal support or if not willing then a vascectomy. That goes for the moms of six kids by three to six different "my man" types. Some kind of birth control should be in order. If not a permenant birth control then at least no more kids until the parent is self sufficient. The government should not be in the business of paying for the GROWTH of your family. Benefits were designed to help those in temporary trouble or too elderly or sick to work. Not these young healthy people who defy the law. IF the government WANTS large families, let it subsidize the home grown married moms who can't manage more than two children because both parents are working. (Didn't Italy do that?) Don't get me wrong, I am all for large (functional) families. Large families are great. Where have all the "middle" children gone? We need them!
I am not against poor people at all. I've had members of my family bounce on and off the benefits system and I couldn't begrudge them. They were not abusing it. The responsible working poor are having a harder and harder time. High immigrant numbers reduce wages. (Immigrants are doing construction jobs.) Poor people can't survive like the "old days". Drugs have made "affordable" neighborhoods unsafe. If we weren't subsidizing the world we could improve our infrastructer (Roads in some other countries seem much better maintained) and do better for OUR working poor.
So all up front benefits should be discontinued immediately for non-citizens. Is this harsh. Yes. So give notice. The word would get out very quickly to others contemplating showing up on the dole doorstep. No automatic citizenship for newborns of illegals, either. That would stop illegals from showing up "close to being in labor" and swamping the health system.
No responsibility is required to get benefits and no one checks to see if it is being abused. In fact it seems ILLEGAL TO CHECK. If the system was privately run with fraud investigators what a change!
It will allow our countries to survive. That's the big picture.
Aesop's fable of the ant and the grasshopper comes to mind. With a twist. The ant worked hard and saved for the harsh winter while the grasshopper played away and enjoyed his time all summer. The twist - when the winter came and the grasshopper was in trouble the government stepped in and made the ant share everything he had worked to save. And while this made the ant feel good and the government look good, the grasshopper, still fat and happy, was not any wiser and did not save for the next winter either. So he had fun his whole life without working. And had lots of offspring. The ant on the other hand had to work much harder to store extra for the grasshoppers and he never got to dance the summer away so he only had one offspring. His offspring decided he shouldn't work his life away - he wanted live like a grasshopper. Then no one worked and finally the one ant offspring and the thousands of grasshopper offspring starved when the winter came.

That woman in Belgium only needs to catch the train and move to my part of London where she'll find plenty of her burka wearing sisters who are one of these eyesores we have to put up with daily. I wonder what her reasons were for leaving her Islamic paradise in the first place? When you hear that 63% of Bangladeshis, for example, are either on welfare or not economically active (the Government's own figures) most of us wonder exactly what contribution Muslims make to western society, other than bleeding us dry and inflicting their backward customs on us. My local college that does evening classes for adults has dropped a lot of courses to provide free English classes for immigrants. Tax paying residents like me who've worked and lived in the UK all our lives are being told we're second best basically.

Benefit handouts that are being given to the muslim population in Britain, is just a small part of what muslims are "taxing" us with.
One needs to factor in
1. The cost of security measures and the concommitant harm to the conomy.
2. The cost to the economy because of bomb outrages in the Western world as a whole.
It needs an economist to figure this out, but if it has led to a 1% fall in GDP, then it works out to be around £25b.
This is all huge amounts of money, but in my view, the greatest cost of having muslims in Britain, is the progressive loss of Freedom of expression.

London has a vast array of CCTV cameras watching everyone all the time. CCTV is used as a reactive security measure to identy potential criminals.
WHY are Muslim women dressed in tradtional Islamic attire EXCLUDED from suspicion of crime? THEY COVER THEIR FACES!!!! What good is the use of CCTV under such circumstances???

This is outrageous and demonstrates the level of 'integration' that Muslims practice. The burka should be banned - everwhere except Islamic countries.
What would happen, myiironu, is that the store security would ask you to remove your perfectly respectable, required by law (while on the bike) crash helmet or you would not be allowed to enter the store.
