DC Watson urges you to urge your Congressman to reject dhimmitude:
If you've ever watched a ventriloquist act, it's likely that you eventually came around to realizing that it wasn't really the dummy doing all the talking. It took me a while, but finally, I did.
It appears that now we have a certain group of Muslims -- in particular, the Council on American Islamic Relations -- attempting to put words into the mouths of our elected officials by urging Muslims to contact their House Representatives and push them into signing a House Resolution recognizing the Islamic fast, otherwise known as Ramadan.
Yes, this is the same Council on American Islamic Relations who watched as three of their own became convicted felons for committing Islamic terror-related and fraud-related crimes.
The same Council on American Islamic Relations whose officers have made very clear that their desire is for an Islamic United States government, and an Islamic world.
The same Council on American Islamic Relations who recently had a shameful mishap involving an appearing, then disappearing Islamic headscarf:
http://www.jihadwatch.org/archives/008110.phpAnd the same Council on American Islamic Relations who, on their website, was involved in a questionable call for donations shortly after the 9/11 terror attacks. More information about this swerve can be found here:
http://www.frontpagemag.com/Articles/ReadArticle.asp?ID=12470Once you read these portions of this proposed "Resolution," you’ll better understand its manipulative nature:
1) "during this time of conflict, in order to demonstrate solidarity with and support for members of the community of Islam in the United States and throughout the world, the House of Representatives recognizes the Islamic faith as one of the great religions of the world;"
(2) "and in observance of and out of respect for the commencement of Ramadan, the Islamic holy month of fasting and spiritual renewal, the House of Representatives acknowledges the onset of Ramadan and expresses its deepest respect to Muslims in the United States and throughout the world on this significant occasion."
With CAIR's record (if it is the voice of the Muslim community in the United States), why should our elected officials whom we, not they, put into office to represent America, not Islam, participate in such a signing?
What would a House Resolution such as this lead to in the future?
Imagine: members of this organization and others like it carrying around with them copies of a document, signed by the members of the American government, stating that Islam is one of the world's great religions, which has the deepest respect of the United States House of Representatives. An innocuous pro forma declaration? Maybe. But could it be thrown up to government officials and American law enforcement whenever a critic of Islam stands up and exercises what is (for now) his or her right to free speech, or when law enforcement officers arrest another Muslim? Could it be used to further "anti-Muslim hate crime" bills? Could it be an instrument in filing lawsuits against Americans who confront organizations and individuals that aggressively promote Islam? Could it be used to further push the American government to recognize Islamic holidays and declare them national holidays? Could this be just the beginning of more "resolutions" to further an agenda of implementing Islam in the West? Who knows? What is regrettable about this entire situation is that some Americans, out of the goodness of their hearts, are still willing to give Islam in America the benefit of the doubt. After seeing Islamic terror all over the world, which has occurred in various ways since the inception of Islam some 1400 years ago, some of us are still willing to aim for pluralism. Pluralism isn't a bad thing. Hell, Americans are one giant plurality, but it won't work with intolerant people who believe that their way is the only acceptable way. Qur'an 48.29: "Muhammad is God's apostle. Those who follow him are ruthless to the unbelievers but merciful to one another."Yes, there are decent Muslims in the world who are intelligent enough to understand that the Qur'an is anything but moderate.
Unfortunately, even in the U.S., there is far more than a small minority of Islamists who danced in the streets on 9/11, who have set American flags ablaze in the vacant side streets of New York (under police protection of course), and who constantly scrutinize American law enforcement as it pertains to the ongoing arrests of Muslim criminals in America.
These people would sooner see our throats sliced as talk to us. They wish for Islamic law in America, and are here with conquest, not coexistence, in mind.
As the masses become more aware of what lives among us, everyone -- conservatives and liberals -- must understand that the right to free speech that we so deeply cherish, along with all of the other freedoms that are afforded to us in this country, would be eliminated if Islamists ever had their way.
Disagree with our politicians all you want, but please remember this: We may not always get along or agree on our nation's issues, but we are all Americans. We live in the greatest nation on earth. If anyone doesn't believe that, let them travel to Riyadh or Tehran and try to launch a mass protest or demonstration like those are free to launch here. Go ahead, see what happens.
In early 2004, an American named Nicholas Berg was bound, outnumbered, very alive, and very awake when Muslim cavemen sawed off his head. Shortly after, CAIR initiated a petition entitled "Not in the name of Islam," which was to be signed by Muslims who didn’t want their religious brothers killing in the name of their religion. To date, even with two to three million Muslims in America (CAIR's count of 6 to 7 million is vastly inflated), the number of those who've signed is considerably less than what peaceful human beings would expect:
Current Petition Progress:
6 9 0 , 0 4 7
(Individuals and Members of Signatory Organizations)
Now that's a small minority.
Meanwhile, with regard to this "Ramadan resolution": contact your Representative and ask him or her what CAIR (and Islam in general) have contributed to the land of the free and the home of the brave that would make a resolution of this type appropriate or justified.
A techical question:
How does this Resolution thing work -- the group needs to get enough signatures from the politicians, and then its a house resolution if the majority sign it, or, is there a designated process to bring such a resolution before the house (eg, the UK equivalent might be the private members bill?)
funny coincidence, but the next few weeks also happen to feature two of the most important holy days in Judaism's adjusted lunar calendar -- Rosh Hashonah and Yom Kippur.
Anyone out in the bloggosphere heard of any of those all powerful and whinny Jewish organizations clamouring for any special recognition of same although Jewish communities around the world are suffering a great deal of harassment, much of it far worse than anything being complained about by CAIR?
sarcasm/
Islam is very special, mates. So special in fact, that it should be isolated on a far away deserted island out in the middle of the ocean somewhere...You know, for its own protection...
So what. The Muzzlambs at cair will call American government racists if they don't sign this piece of rubbish resolution?
I second Unbridled's suggestion.
Why is it always the same thing from CAIR? Recognize this. Respect that. These things are earned, not given freely.
No government body, in any country, should be expressing any opinion on any religion -- period.
"One of the great religions of the world" is an opinion - not a fact. The word "great" is subjective, not objective.
As D.C. Watson states, the statements to which CAIR wants the House of Representatives to agree, are manipulative. First, a need of the one to be manipulated is identified, and then the manipulator offers a solution which will suit the manipulator's (usually hidden) purposes. Here CAIR appeals to the American government's wish to avoid any further conflict, to be seen as being "the good guy," and so on. The solution? Well, the manipulator has just the ticket: Agree to this declaration - and all will be well!
The next clause appeals to our wish (learned in Kindergarten) to always be respectful: CAIR asks the House to "out of respect" redundantly "express its deepest respect." Here's a need - an lo and behold, CAIR has the solution, again!
What is achieved by this? CAIR will then possess a document showing that the American government respects Islam and considers it a great religion(an example of "camel's nose under the tent" - as one poster recently said).
Look a bit closer at Clause 2 in the Resolution. Stripped to its bare bones, the sentence reads: "In observance of ... Ramadan...the House of Representatives expresses its ..." -- so there you have it, if CAIR gets its way the American House of Representatives will be observing Ramadan!
Quite an achievement if CAIR can bring this off!
"How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity. The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property - either as a child, a wife, or a concubine - must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men."

i have respectfully emailed my congressman regarding this issue. please see my letter below:
Dear Representative --------,
I have been asked to contact my representative regarding a resolution to Congress proposed by the Council on American Islamic Relations. The resolution concerns recognizing the Islamic fast, Ramadan.
Sir, i am against this resolution, the official recognition of Ramadan by Congress. I see this resolution as an attempt by Islam to make inroads leading to the eventual institution of Islamic Sharia Law in America. Sharia Law is an oppressive system which i deeply reject. Sharia Law is a direct threat to our freedoms of speech, religion and many other freedoms here in America. Sharia Law also relegates women to second class citizens.
To be quite frank sir, i am for the banning of Islam worldwide.
As an avid reader of Robert Spencer's websites www.jihadwatch.org and www.dhimmiwatch.org, I am learning that Islam has nothing but bad plans for the world.
The particular discussion that spurred my contacting you is at:

Thank you very much sir for responding to my previous email in conjunction with protecting our access to nutritional supplements. I still take my noni fruit powder (well-being), my marine coral powder (alkalinity), my whey protein concentrate (muscle strength) and my shark cartilage (joint health). they all help me greatly. Please read the amazing noni testimonials at:

My views on Islam are perhaps surprising to some, but i have seen the persecution of christians worldwide at the hands of jihadist muslims on such websites as www.persecution.org.
My view of Islam as an unpredictable satanic cult has developed over the past several decades, not that there aren't some nice muslims, but i believe the moderate muslim community is a dormant threat that, when the time is right for Islam, serves to facilitate and enable jihadists worldwide in the Islamic crusade to take over all free, constitutional democracies for Islam, as jihadists have themselves announced. The 1.5 billion member cult of Islam has already converted many formerly free and prosperous nations to the Islamic system, from southern Africa to Malaysia and beyond. Islam has designs on the whole world. World conquest is an actual doctrine commanded by the muslim prophet Muhammad. We in the free world are in big trouble because Islam hates us for simply existing as so-called "infidels," an insulting and demeaning term. I personally am a saint and child of the living God through Jesus Christ. I, of course, sin every day, just like every other human on earth. However, Jesus took away every such sin 2005 years ago on His cross, except for unbelief in Him. The second step is to receive Christ's life living in you. This good news is described daily on the live internet broadcast at www.realanswers.net. I highly recommend listening to it.
i even respect the accomodation of a reasonable level of sin in our society as defined by our reasonable lawmakers. Jesus said to allow the wheat (believers in christ) and tares (unbelievers) to grow together, so a certain level of sin in society is the most humane system for all concerned and is, i believe, permissible and preferable according to Jesus Christ.
At least our citizens have a free-will choice to sin or not sin, unlike in Islam where everyone is supposedly as pure as the driven snow, thus forcing muslims into being proud hypocrites. As Jesus said, there is none righteous, no not one. He is our righteousness.
If I understand Islam's strategy correctly, it appears that Islamic jihad is what brings violent pro-Islamic change through insurgencies and terrorism, while a pre-positioned moderate Islamic community provides a stubborn, passive resistance for consolidating the gains made by jihad but also serves as a cover or camoflage for jihadists within the host country's society.
That is why i am for banning Islam outright through the deportation of muslims unless the individual muslim renounces Islam and means it. I am sorry to be so judgemental about Islam sir but i believe our country is at stake.
I believe all muslims, by definition, are compelled to put Islam's interests before the host country's interests. That to me constitutes an inherent attitude of treason, sedition and subversion throughout Islam against free nations. And muslims think they are doing god a service while killing infidels.
In it's attempt to conquer the world, Islam keeps tightening it's noose of oppression on the host countries, as would any cult, until the blame game of conflict with the selected free government is inevitable and the jihadists are sent in for battle, resulting in a New Islamic Republic. The conflict itself is essential for Islam's plan and must be sparked, but preferably with the host country appearing at blame. So Islam is always the aggressor but Islam never admits it. I believe that Islam is slowly taking over the world in this manner.
This dynamic starts with moderate Islam's sickening non-cooperation (passive resistance) with law enforcement authorities in the free world. We see this in many places today, notably in Thailand where muslims are now demanding a homeland.
Islam does not respect "man's laws," or the legislation thereof, but Islam desperately wants to forcebly institute what Islam calls "god's laws," or what muslims call "Sharia Law".
I believe the problem is that muslims have the wrong god, satan, who wants only to steal (our freedoms), kill (all non-muslims) and destroy (all creativity). Satan is called the "deceiver" and the "father of lies" in the bible. Satan blames all of the bad in the world upon God, thereby making people question the existence of a good God.
Well take care sir and i was extremely glad to hear you were elected last year here in my district and i did vote ----------.
I may post parts of this letter on the jihadwatch website as an example to others in writing to their Congressmen.
Sincerely,

What is the HR number?
listen to realanswers.net , thank you for your insight. let's hope they listen for once.
Just sent this off to my Representative.
Dear Representative --------,
I applaud your efforts to enforce existing immigration law and to strengthen it further. Thank you for your courage and tenacity on this issue. However, I am writing you now because I am concerned about another issue. That issue is Islam. Not terrorism, but Islam itself. Specifically, as my Representative, I am asking you not to sign the proposed Ramadan resolution that is before the House of Representatives right now.
A resolution such as this is simply the latest predictable attempt by the Council on American Islamic Relations (CAIR) to lull Americans and our elected leaders into thinking that Islam is a religion of peace. I urge you to reject this notion by refraining from signing this resolution.
Sir, are you aware that three of CAIR's leaders became convicted felons for committing Islamic terror-related and fraud-related crimes? Did you know that CAIR's leadership have made very clear their desire to see the U.S. Constitution replaced by Islamic Sharia law? What is the point of this latest attempt by CAIR, other than to continue the global Islamic jihad by peaceful means right here in our own backyard? The language of this resolution is pure manipulation on the part of those who have a completely different vision for this country than our Founding Fathers did.
Islam is anything but a religion of peace. Please purchase a copy of Robert Spencer's "The Politically Incorrect Guide to Islam (and the Crusades)," read it, study it, then urge your colleagues in Congress to do the same. The Quran is filled with passages that justify the unspeakable horrors that have continued unabated for over 1300 years since the inception of Islam. Islam is most certainly not a religion of peace that has been taken over by a tiny minority of extremists. It is geo-political system bent on world domination. The theory and practice of jihad is taken directly from the Quran and other foundational Islamic teachings. It is the divinely ordained duty of all Muslims everywhere to fight (violently and by other means) until man-made law is replaced by "God's law" - Islamic Sharia law.
As a father of 2 young boys and a responsible citizen who loves his country, I am not willing to slowly boil to death like the proverbial frog in the kettle while Islam continues the jihad against America. We must be on guard against terrorism, but we must also be vigilant to recognize the less sensational and less visible means by which the global Islamic jihad is advanced. What legacy will we leave for our children and our children's children if we do not now stand up courageously and recognize this threat in all of its fullness? I'd rather not imagine it.
Please do not sign the Ramadan resolution Representative ---------. Thank you again for your strong and courageous leadership.
Sincerely,
Bloody good letter, Matt.
That is why i am for banning Islam outright through the deportation of muslims unless the individual muslim renounces Islam and means it.
You are right on the money!
I don't agree with the resolution. However, I think DC's letter has an obvious flaw. First he says,
Unfortunately, even in the U.S., there is far more than a small minority of Islamists who danced in the streets on 9/11, who have set American flags ablaze in the vacant side streets of New York (under police protection of course), and who constantly scrutinize American law enforcement as it pertains to the ongoing arrests of Muslim criminals in America.
How many American Muslims really danced in the streets on 9/11? How many burned flags in NYC? A couple of hundred? This is "far more than a small minority".
Now that's a tiny minority.
So before, a couple of hundred people were a "far more than a small minority", but now close to 700,000 are "a tiny minority"? Even a Congressman would have trouble with that math.
I see two good reasons to oppose this resolution. The first is that CAIR are not really helping to defeat terror, and they shouldn't be rewarded with House Resolutions, or allowed to put any other feathers in their caps, until they actually put some real effort into opposing the jihad. Their petition might have 700,000 signatures, or it might not. In any case, it's just the usual vague, no names named non-condemnations that we usually see.Daniel Pipes has detailed the problems with the petition, see
http://www.danielpipes.org/article/1955
Secondly, and perhaps most importantly, I don't think that the government should be in the business of putting stamps of approval on any religion. If the House "recognizes the Islamic faith as one of the great religions of the world", what other faiths are they going to recognize? And what message will that send to any faith that doesn't get mentioned? It is just folly on the part of CAIR. I suspect it is really a ploy to test the waters and see what kind of clout they hold in Congress.
Viking....give it some thought a minute. 700,000 out of the alleged 1.5 billion Muslims in the world signed a petition that said they wanted their religion to not be represented by terrorists.
Even 700k in America out of the alleged 6 to 7 million Muslims here is a small minority, especially when the Islamic faith is supposed to be so peaceful.
The Muslim population figures are a lie, but accoding to Daniel Pipes, so is the petition in itself. Here bro, I've added this link.
http://www.danielpipes.org/article/1955
I agree with what you said, except for the numbers. If Islam is so blasted tolerant ans peaceful, then there should be a whole lot more signatures on cair's petition. It's pathetic.
If this group of finks is the leading conduit to Muslims, they sure have their volume turned down way low if this is all they can muster.
Watson plays head games with these goofs. He knows they read this site.
Viking, my apologies. Looks loke you already beat me to Pipes' article. Sorry about that.
