Sadeq Ahmed update. From AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:
DETROIT (AP) -- A man who was discharged from the Air Force amid allegations he expressed sympathy for Osama bin Laden was sentenced Wednesday to 18 months in prison on charges that he lied to get an airport job.U.S. District Judge Bernard Friedman sentenced Sadeq Naji Ahmed, 25, of Dearborn on two counts of making false statements. Ahmed was convicted in May.
Ahmed was accused of lying to the government about his Air Force discharge in order to get a job as a security screener at Detroit Metropolitan Airport. Prosecutors said he lied on a 2002 Transportation Security Administration questionnaire when he said he never left a job under unfavorable circumstances and when he failed to disclose that his security clearance had been revoked.
he will probably get the ACLU to get his job back on religious grounds due to his being allowed to lie for religious reasons to infidels to conceal his war plans.
Note to self; Do not fly via Detroit airport.
Of all the jobs in the world, he just had a burning desire to become an airport security screener? The desire was so strong that he was willing to lie and risk prison time to get it?
18 months just doesn't seem to cut it. Again, with time off for "good behavior" (meaning devoutly proselytising Islam in prison), he'll be out in a year. The penalty should be higher when someone vows allegiance with terrorists and uses deception to gain a security position. Chalk this up as another failure of the Homeland Security Bill. Maybe they can make up for this by adding another color to the warning system, or re-organizing the org charts at the CIA. That oughta make us safer.
Whatever happened to potential employers checking out references and verifying that the information on a job application/resume is truthful prior to offering someone the job?

But for such an entirely inconsequential position as being an airport security screener? Why bother?
The good news is we got one. The bad news is there are more out there and airports aren't allowed to profile. Also, special guest is right, 18 mo's is a joke of a sentance given the circumstances.

Embrace the crescent or die. What a nice memorial.
And, in Spring, a satellite shot of those maple trees with their new green leaves should make a nice, pretty, green crescent.
Have a nice day.
the US needs to be careful about the people it is giving government jobs to

Are you guy's for real?
Europe is full of them! Paris, London, Frankfurt, Amsterdam:
Name any Airport and you got the sons of Allah as baggage handlers, and they do handle it, I can assure you!
The slightest delay gives them enough time to cut a hole in your luggage and steal your stuff. They do it all the time, have no illusions!
It happened to me at least 4 times in the last 3 years!
And why are not more jets coming down?
I guess these commandos are just waiting for their orders from OBL!
