DETROIT -- Youssef Hmimssa, an expert identity thief who lied in connection with terrorism-related charges against four immigrants, was sentenced Thursday to 78 months in federal prison for a dozen felonies.The Moroccan national said nothing and showed no emotion as U.S. District Judge Gerald Rosen ordered him to serve the maximum term allowed under a plea agreement reached between Hmimssa and federal prosecutors.
"It's obvious to the court that you and the truth are complete strangers to each other," Rosen told Hmimssa before handing down his sentence. "I believe, sir, you are a pathological liar."
It brought to a close the four-year saga of a mysterious computer whiz who traveled to North Africa, Europe and the American Midwest using a passel of aliases and phony IDs drifting from scam to scam.
Hmimssa, 34, was the key witness for the U.S. government in its case against four men charged in Detroit with supporting terrorism. The 2003 trial was the first post-September 11 terror trial in the nation and resulted in a pair of convictions that were later overturned when prosecutors conceded the case was fraught with errors, including unreliable testimony from Hmimssa.
Under the agreement with prosecutors, Hmimssa pleaded guilty to 11 theft-related felonies....
Hmimssa faces deportation after he's released.
Will he be kept in a Muslims-only ward, or in solitary confinement? If he is not, then for 78 months, room and board paid for by tazpayers, he will be in a position to conduct Da'wa among a vulnerable and alienated population of prisoners. He can, thus, continue to do damage to American society and its wellbeing long after he has been shipped back to Morocco. Why not ship him back now, and insist that he be kept in a Moroccan prison? Surely Morocco can oblige us, and if it doesn't, that too will be remembered at the right time.
Perhaps laws need to be passed so that those foreign nationals convicted of crimes that can reasonably be connected to the Jihad can serve their sentences -- must serve their sentences -- outside this country, in their Muslim countries of origin. No sense in supporting someone as he continues to promote Jihad, this time behind prison walls.
More punishment for the American taxpayers as it costs around 35k per year to house and feed animals like this.
Why can't we save a couple hundred grand, send it to the good people in Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama who have suffered a terrible blow to their lives?

Maybe it is a good thing that at sentencing ,Federal Judge Rosen defined Mr.Hmimssa as a pathological liar. At least most dhimmis understand that diagnosis clearly as opposed to someone who is simply practicing taquiya after Mr. Hmimssa successfully mislead prosecutors in the 2003 Detroit case against 4 who where charged with supporting terrorism. At least the federal prison administration will brand him as a pathological liar.
I think prosecutors who are handling these kind of cases need to have a class on the deceptive practices of muslims when it comes to us infidels so that they will make greater efforts to check on the validity of their witness statements.
I'd say "Mission Accomplished" to Mr. Hmimssa. He got four of his fellow jihadists freed, and will now serve 78 months, minus 1/3 off for good behavior. As he will keep himself busy proselytising as a devout Muslim in prison, he will be out in approximately 4 years. When he gets out at age 38, he'll be ready to pick up where he left off, plus he will have brought several new recruits to the jihad. All at taxpayer expense.
Maybe it's just me, but maybe the laws regarding terrorism need to be looked at. And I don't mean giving the FBI the authority to look at which books you checked out from the library.
As I've said before, trying Jihadis in court, then sending them to prison, is a favour to the jihadis. The expenditure of huge amounts of money in trials and imprisonment, is just another form of jihad, as far as they are concerned.
The punishment Jihadis fear the most, is instant deportation. That means no more opportunities to conduct jihad.
The man was just tying up a court system for ages,he is practising what he was taught.Please just ship him back to his own country the west does not need the likes of him crawling around the prisons spreading more lies and evil.
