Many a baby girl has a period at birth due to the excess of mother's oestrogen. If there were male Muslims in the hospital, like IA and KT, who seek to emulate their "profit", they would probably want to have sex with the baby if it’s a girl, (after all Mohammed liked to have sex with children).

Aren't we jumping the gun a bit? The hospital deny that there is any policy of dhimmitude. It wouldn't be the first time that the Daily Mail has got it wrong. Maybe pregnant women just don't want strange men sleeping next to them. I can't say I would blame them.
This might not be a case of dimmitude.I can't speak for the UK but I am a nurse in the US.Occasionally there will be a case of a son who wants to stay at the bedside of his elderly mother. If the patient is in a semi-private room I and other nurses have not allowed the man to stay out of respect for the privacy of the other female patient in the room. We've instructed the male to sit in the waiting room and told him he could visit his mother periodically for a few minutes. I am not a Muslim. I do know that I would not want a strange man sitting in my room overnight.

I would think husbands and others should be banned from these wards, not because of offending anyones religion, but because they are in the way. If there are four patients to a ward, there are eight people jabbering and moving around. There is no way for the patients to get adequate rest, and someones business is everyones business. Four nervous husbands, and four pregnant women about to go into labor, could turn into a riot...or a loud party. Either way, I think it's better during this phase of the birth process, that the husband stick to the traditional role of pacing the hallways. He can get in on the action later...
It probably makes sense not to have four husbands in a four bed ward with four women in labor. That policy could have been easily explained by the hospital staff. I think that Mrs. Quale was telling the truth.....the reason given to her to bar her husband was that Muslims would be offended.
When my wife gave birth I was allowed to be in there with her. It was a great help and comfort to her. In fact, while we had a private room, many men were there all through the night with their wives, in the wards.
Yes we men are not meant to stay the night. But the nurses were so accomodating, if it meant helping the women better adjust to motherhood.
While there are a few "peace lovers" in my area, generally we are all Aussies in the main, hence it currently causes no problems. I mean, for us blokes there is nothing sexual about it. If we want to see a bit of female anatomy, one can get there jollies at many a nudist beach (if one is that desparate).
It seems only the Muslim men have problems controling their urges around women. So ban them! Not the mature infidel fathers who in a birthing ward are more concerned with their wives, and new borns than perving on some curtain covered female Muslim. Muslim's get real!
