The international battle against terrorist financial networks continues unabated, with the latest official efforts taking place in Germany, per AFP:
Police in the western German state of Hesse mounted raids in six cities Tuesday against suspected Islamic extremists accused of raising money to carry out terrorist attacks, AFP reported."We have information that Islamic extremists engaged in petty crime are building a network and the logistics for terrorism," police spokesman Peter Liebeck said.
Liebeck said authorities believed that the extremists were using local snack shops and call centers as fronts.
