Guy in burqa with explosives

He no doubt found his arrest a real drag. "Pakistan police arrests two Islamic militants with explosives," from the Islamic Republic News Agency, with thanks to Cindy:

Pakistani police on Tuesday arrested two suspected Islamic militants with explosives and bomb-making literature near the industrial city of Faisalabad.

The report received on Tuesday said that one of the bearded men was wearing a head-to-toe veil, (burqa) worn by many conservative women in Pakistan.

The suspects are believed to be members of Lashkar-e-Jhangvi, an extremist Sunni Muslim militant group that was banned in 2001 for attack.

The report said that the two suspects were found carrying 16 kg (35 pounds) of explosives.

This is an old tactic that Muslims have used against the Indian forces in Kashmir for years. And then these terrorists claim to be brave, instead they're a bunch of demented cross-dressers.

Isn't cross-dressing forbidden in Islam? I guess not since it is a sacred duty of many Jihadis fighting India to put on their best so that they are dressed to kill.

"He no doubt found his arrest a real drag."

Humor such as this doesn't get any better.

A transvestite suicide bomber? Wonder if his 70 virgins will have beards?

"Isn't cross-dressing forbidden in Islam?"

There are many, many, many, many, many, exceptions to the rule in Islam as long as one is planning to kill an Infidel, have sex outside marriage, lie, cheat, steal...

Well, the jihadists have hidden explosives in ambulances, in U.N. vehicles, in schools, in mosques, in shoes, in artificial legs, under a "pregnant" woman's dress, in a baby's diaper, and inside a woman's private parts.

I guess hiding them under a burqa isn't all that suprising.

And, of course they will complain to high heaven if the police search "women" at checkpoints. Because of their "modesty" and all like that.

"the jihadists have hidden explosives in ambulances, in U.N. vehicles, in schools, in mosques, in shoes, in artificial legs, under a "pregnant" woman's dress, in a baby's diaper, and inside a woman's private parts."

I regret to add yet another to that grotesquely hideous list:

"The enemy here [in Iraq] did just the most horrible things you can imagine - in one case murdering a child, placing a booby trap within the child's body and waiting for the parent to come recover the body of their child and exploding it to kill the parents..." Col. H.R. McMaster, commander of the 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, said in an interview from Tal Afar with reporters at the Pentagon.

An ectremely neat way to smuggle drugs.
Don`t you dare touch my burqa.

It is only a matter of time before we get a transvestite suicide bomber here in Britain. There are loads of CCTV cameras around. As a libertarian I used to hate these, but in the circumstances they will be useful, and have proved useful, in identifying suspects. However, a man could wear a niqab or yashmak and conceal his identity. A burkha would look bizarre on the tube, but not a niqab. Of course the suicide bomber could be female - though what's in it for women I can't imagine.

I think there should be a law against covering faces in public, as there is in Belgium (some towns anyway) and Italy(?). However, can you imagine the uproar if such a law were proposed? Not just from Muslims, but from so-called feminists like Germaine Greer, who turn a blind eye to women's oppression when it is the work of non-Western cultures.

He no doubt found his arrest a real drag.

Oh boy. Do they issue fatwas against bad puns? :-)

You are in a western country, you wear 21st century western clothes. Make it the law.

If you want to wear 7th century Middle eastern clothes, leave here and go there.

Was it the "man hands" that gave burka-boy away?
