A top leader of the Palestinian resistance group Hamas has said Jerusalem's revered al-Aqsa mosque would be won in battle."Al-Aqsa mosque will not be liberated by negotiations but in a final battle. Allah has promised his people this victory," Mahmoud al-Zahar told about 100 Hamas supporters in the southern Gaza city of Khan Yunis on Thursday.
Speaking against the backdrop of a poster of nine human bombers who hailed from Khan Yunis, al-Zahar also derided the Palestinian interior ministry's call on Tuesday for all Palestinian groups to disarm.
"People in the interior ministry say that in two weeks, after the Zionist withdraw, they will disarm the factions.
"Hamas suffered a lot and many people were killed. After the victory is achieved how can some people say 'you didn't do anything and you must disarm'. This is not fair, this is why we will keep our weapons."
Why western governments actually think there is any way the PA will disarm Hamas or the PIJ is beyond me. They're holding "unity" talks in Damascus.

The PA will just fold them in and give them American and European taxpayer funded weapons instead of Saudi or even Iranian funded weapons.

The Temple Mount was seized by the Abd al-Malik and his murderous horde by force of arms in the 7th century so why not just raze the structures that they built and start over? That way, there won't be anything for Hamas to "liberate" and they can instead focus their energy on how to feed themselves by participating in global commerce as a nation-state rather than their 14-century long tradition of piratical plunder of their neighbors. Otherwise, I'm OK with the idea of just fencing them in economically, politically and militarily to let them rot in the fetid squalor of their own making.

Couldn't agree more. It is a constant source of amazement to me that the bloody thing is still standing.
Let us pay the muslims the greatest compliment we can and do exactly as they do....burn it to the ground and/or turn it into one of our own churches, temples, synagogues....whatever.
