Iran hard-line paper says suicide attacks raising anti-war mood in U.S.

From the Terrorism Works Department comes this update from Iranfocus.com, with thanks to Kisan. One thing you can be sure of: if they think suicide bombings work, we will see more of them, and they will eventually come to the US.

Tehran, Iran, Sep. 03 – A radical Islamist weekly close to Iran’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad praised suicide operations against the United States and Israel as the correct strategy to carry forward the message of the Islamic Republic, as advocated by the late Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini.

The reason for all the calamities of Muslims is the fact that the decree by Imam Khomeini about wiping out Israel from the Middle East has not been carried out”, the Persian-language weekly Parto-Sokhan wrote, calling the annihilation of the Jewish state “holy”.

The weekly wrote that the creation of “martyrdom-seeking forces” in Muslim countries terrified the U.S. and Israel and was the key to gaining the rights of Muslims.

And they will surely come. It's not just the suicide bombings that work miracles with the left-leaning Western intellectuals and policymakers. It's the terror in general. The PLO has carried out one of the most vicious attacks against defenseless civilians, and what did it get as a result? Top-level diplomatic recognition and the status of a special observes at the UIN (United /Islamic/ Nations) General Assembly.

People who think that killing British or American civilians in their homes is going to cow the rest of the population should read a little history.

The far more likely result would be the annihilation of the source of the terrorism - collateral damage would become a fanciful phrase of more romanatic period.

The headline at Iranfocus, and used above, misleads. There is no statement that suicide bombing has promoted an "anti-war mood" in the United States. One needs to point this out because there those who, seeing this headline, and taking whatever an Iranian official says as an expression of his views, which for some resaon may be confused with the truth, and therefore, as he is the enemy, we must without thinking for ourselves necessarily do whatever is the opposite of what he appears to be applauding.

Iranian mullahs may have even less sense of what Iraq is all about, or about what would constitute "victory" for Islam and "defeat" for the Infidels, then the current American administration.

Some people do not think there is a problem with Islam; that Islam is wonderful, and that it is we who are to blame. Some think there is a problem with Islam , but beleive we can somehow overcome this by promoting "democracy" in the most primitive, vote-counting sense, and winning over "Muslim hearts and minds" by taking every opportunity to show we have no quarrel with Islam, that religion of "peace" and tolerance." hearts and minds."

But these two childrens' fables may be called The Tales of Two Karens -- Karen Armstrong and Karen Hughes, and some of us prefer to put away childish things, "for when I was a child I thought as a child" but now we musn't think as children much longer, and especially not if we are sitting in gwate big government offices, with big desks, and big compwuters, and evwything.

So let's get this clear. The Iranian article above does not say that suicide bombers lead to a rise in anti-war sentiment in the U.S. But even if it did, and even if the entire membership of the Arab League declared that it wanted the Americans out of Iraq right now, that does not mean that the Iranians, and the Arabs, have calculated correctly, and that Islam itself will come out ahead if the Americans in fact do leave.

Why assume that Muslims themselves cannot miscalculate? It is clear that those who have commmitted recent terrorist atrocities in Europe have miscalculated, and the Muslims within Europe and America, or some of them, are trying through phony statements, through a phony fatwa or two, to dampen Infidel concern, to put things back the way they were before, and to keep on migrating, breeding, building mosques, and penetrating (under the guise of "integrating" and "participating in the political process") Western Infidel societies in order to protect, and promote, Islam, until such time as there are sufficient numbers to terrify the Infidels, who will --it has happened so often in the past 1350 years -- go, it is hoped, quietly.
