Tehran, Iran, Sep. 06 – Women who violate Iran’s strict Islamic dress code will be flogged immediately, prosecutor’s offices in provincial centres announced on Tuesday.In the central Iranian city of Shahin-Shahr, the prosecutor’s office posted huge notices on billboards and shop windows warning women that dress code violators will appear before an Islamic judge immediately after arrest to receive a sentence, usually 100 lashes in public. The prosecutor will be demanding maximum penalties, the notice warned.
“Individuals whose state of attire and make-up is against religious laws in public will be prosecuted without having to first wait in a queue and will be sentenced to flogging and fines”, the statement said.
And so the fear that Iranian women live with daily will rise to new heights.
This shockingly depraved escalation of woman-hating comes from the religion that claims to honor and respect women. Why are we not surprised?
There are no words to convey the horrendous outrage of the conditions there.
Iran has one of the highest suicide rates in the world - and the majority of suicides there are female: there is no need to wonder why.
But I suspect that the outcry from the millions of moderate Muslims in the world will soon put a stop to this.

The people of Iran, if they truely wanted to rid themselves of these evil monsters should start targeting these prosecuters and religious policemen. Execution (in stealth) of these zealots should be the order of the day. It wouldn't be long before the hunters start feeling they are the hunted.
Or the people could emigrate. The borders of Iran are pourous and anyone can leave anytime they choose. But since this hasn't happened up until know to any great extent, one must ask do these people really want to be free from the chains of radical islam? If on a given day every adult woman in Iran went out on the streets unveiled, in a short coat with sleeves that revealed her wrists then the morality police would not be able to beat every woman.
But it would take organisation. Which is difficult even when the will has not been sapped by generations of islam.
I am acquainted with an Iranian man who has lived in the USA for many years. His relatives in Iran are telling him to cancel his visit to see his very elderly parents as he may not get out this time. His family believes things are getting much worse and will continue down a disasterous path. They also identify the new president as a "very bad guy" and as a leader of the students who overran the US Embassy. I feel bad for the Iranian people, but enough of them must still support the religious fascists as these people seem to be in total control of Iran. One thing I know for certain. I do not want any of my young relatives fighting in the streets of Tehran for "regime change." If the Iranians want it, they can do it themselves.
I saw a slide show at LGF once that had pictures of beautiful Iranian women with their headscarves loosely around their heads. It was obviously to satisfy the law about covering, but I could see that the women probably would rather not be restricted by headscarves. They also were wearing western clothes under their rather form-fitting islamic gear. The young people seemed ready to cast off the burden of islam in favor of freedom. I suppose that is why this new "president" is cracking down on them. islam-lite is not going to happen, the only hope for these people is to leave islam all together, overthrow the theocracy.

I agree wholeheartedly with learjet0450's view of Islam. Nevertheless, I view this sadistic crackdown, ironically, as a sign of hope.
Why? It's obvious that the theocrats are scared. That's why they stuffed the ballot boxes to get Ahmadinejad elected. That's why they're going to draconian lengths to maintain their power. I believe they subconsciouly know that they're doomed and they can't reverse that tide. They want to hold on to their power for as long as they can, and the only way to do so is to intimidate people as brutally as they can.
Remember how brutal the Nazis were domestically starting in 1943, when WWII began to turn against them. Then when the Wehrmacht started collapsing on all fronts, the Nazis' brutality became even more pronounced (execution of Hans and Sophie Scholl, executing "deserters" from the armed forces, not to mention the increased rate of murder at the death camps).
Yes, it's frightening that these Iranian bastards are close to attaining nuclear capability. But their theocracy might well collapse before they ever get the chance to use or export it. Let's hope and pray that's the case.
