Anyone still foolish enough to believe that Iran would be willing to surrender its nuclear program absent overwhelming international pressure and sanctions should read a speech delivered before the Iranian Majlis by Iran's fundamentalist in chief, President Ahmadinejad. From Iran Press News: (thanks to Banafsheh Zand-Bonazzi)
He said: "The Islamic regime will in no way, shape or form give up it's rights [to nuclear power]. The days of bullying, browbeating and power mongering is over. We can hear the cracking of the bones of these straw giants [under our feet] and we're shocked that these [westerners] are not able to face facts." He claimed: "Two years ago, all of a sudden, the regime's nuclear activities became the focus of the IAEA's investigation, based on false accusations, rhetoric and a huge amount of pressure and negative publicity that was mounted against us."He added, commenting on the EU3's stance: "The 3 European countries who are being manipulated from behind the scenes by their allies, are racists and are looking to take the world back to the dark ages. They themselves are nuked up to the teeth and are piling security threats against those whose own security is in danger."
Ahmadinejad who called his speech at the General Assembly "historic" continued: "Our vision for world order is based on a new concept of God-worshiping, justice and addressing the sinful human nature; our vision was met with enthusiasm at the United Nations."
It becomes more obvious that Iran, the mouthpiece of the Muslim world, is stating the true goal of Islam: "Our vision for world order is based on a new concept of God-worshiping, justice and addressing the sinful human nature; our vision was met with enthusiasm at the United Nations." They are arming themselves and will provide nuclear weapons for all others that support their goal: Islamic triumphalism and the death of freedom.
With each passing day Irans new Thug in Chief is sounding like the new Hitler.
Missiles paraded in front of EU Staff covered with "Death To America" "Death To Israel" banners, sermons given weekly in most Mosques giving it large- how much clearer could their intent be?
You don't need to be "Minister For The Bleedin' Obvious" to see where we are heading.
Just what are we waiting for?
Why wait & lose the technological advantage we have?
Are we prepared to sacrifice Israel & the Coalition forces in Iraq on the Mullah's say so that their intentions are peaceful? That it is against Islam to have nuclear weapons?
Tell it to our "ally" Pakistan, I am sure they will be all ears.
We take their word for it at our absolute peril.
"Our vision for world order is based on a new concept of God-worshiping, justice and addressing the sinful human nature; our vision was met with enthusiasm at the United Nations."
so islam comes clean and admits that it wants to take over the world. i can't believe that satan is trying to take over the world in the guise of a superior morality (islam), but there it is. my guess is that it will eventually be antichrist-worshipping, not god-worshipping.
the speaker of course means sharia law, but makes it sound like something virtuous. islam wants to take us all to the wood shed and be our schoolmaster. we have already seen what islam's finest do to innocent people.
but in fact, god has already addressed man's sinful human nature. his name is jesus christ and he is coming to rule the world which satan and the u.n. do not like and will not like, but it will happen. anyone can get on board with christ by exercising just a little faith in the proper object, jesus christ.
i am not interested in a new concept of god-worshipping. i am interested in islam allowing my type of god-worshipping, the belief in jesus christ. but islam does not talk about it's denying of religious freedom to islam's people. in islam, all the thinking has already been done for you by the mullahs and no questions are allowed. our mistake is allowing islam's type of god-worshipping to be legal anywhere.
indeed, islam's primary sin is that islam already denies and forbids the only god that matters eternally, jesus christ. jesus said that the sin of the world is unbelief in himself. all other sins are covered, finished and atoned for by christ's cross. so if you are having any type of guilt, thank jesus for taking that guilt already as far as god is concerned and receive christ's life living in you. you have become born again.
this should be good news to islam, but islam ignores and supresses it. this is information of eternal life that islam denies to people. to heck with sins. god is already finished with that. he took them away for good, except for unbelief in christ. that sin of unbelief cannot be forgiven because upon it hinges life, but it can be corrected through faith, not works.
islam claims that infidels sinning is a form of infidel terrorism that is spreading upon the earth. that is islam's excuse for terrorizing us, that is, to teach us infidels a lesson and that islam's god is greater than ours. i agree with them in that satan excells in condemnation and destruction, but that does not make satan right. today, god calls all people to himself by his love through jesus christ.
if any muslim has ever been angry with anyone, it's the same as murder. and if any muslim has ever looked upon a woman with lust, it's the same as adultery. so said jesus. so there is no muslim who is righteous, no not one. how dare islam accuse the infidels. islam is a sham.
the apostle paul said, no man will be justified before god by observing the old covenant law. muslims think they are ok because they obey islam. this leaves the muslim spiritually dead but approved by islam, which is a worthless stamp of approval in the eternal sense.
islam needs to lighten up because i am never going to change my god in favor of theirs.
any government that allows the propagation of jesus christ is my kind of government. such a government can take many forms. it's not that big of a deal. but when islam comes in and denies jesus christ, that is a big deal and shows that satan is at the helm of that government. the world dictator "antichrist" may not be that far away.
this idea that islam has no sin or that the muslim heart is not as desperately wicked as any of our's is baloney. the idea that obedience to islam makes the muslim ok with god is pure deception.
the supposed moral superiority of islam is not a selling point to me. jesus said to allow the unbelievers and the born-again saved people to grow together, not to kill off the sinners and force conformity such as islam does.
in fact, there is no way to force anyone to become born again spiritually in jesus christ. it has to happen by faith. jesus christ is not a political system like islam is. he is a relationship.
so a certain amount of reasonable sin in society actually reflects a society's health much more than the strict legalism of islam. freedom of choice means freedom of thought which encourages creativity. islam is threatened by creativity.
the legislation of man's laws accomodates christianity quite well and many other religions. it is much better than the straight jacket of islam, the sharia law of satan.
obviously, islam sees a power grab opportunity or is being forced to take the world by threat and force. for whatever reason, islam has been forced out of it's box and is trying to micro-manage everyone in the world with only one mandatory religion. this is very over-reaching of islam and demonstrates an inconsiderate, narrowminded mindset.
just because islam appears to try harder to please god is a non-starter with the living god. works and merit do not save the soul in this dispensation. only faith in the proper object, jesus christ, does save from eternal death. god is only interested in people accepting jesus christ, which does not take any effort whatsoever or bowing down five times per day. so islam needs to get off of it's high horse and realize that islam is a spiritually dead religion that claims to be of a high moral character. that could be said of any cult.
Iran needs to be preoccupied with something. That something should be Iraq. If the American forces leave, the Sunnis will be outnumbered, but despite American efforts to train an "Iraqi" army that, in fact, consists essentially of two wings -- the Kurdish and the Shi'a Arab -- will still, one suspects, exhibit superior ferocity, and of course will be refreshed, from Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia. The Americans, free to concentrate on the larger problem of Islam, will be able to focus on the one thing that immediately matters -- which is the disruption, or destruction, or partial destruction, of Iran's science project.
One assumes that the Iranians, who have already been swarming into southern Iraq, and who have the sympathy, and perhaps even the allegiance, of some if not all Iraqi Shi'a, would not lightly allow the Sunni ascendancy to somehow be established, or to permit the wholesale slaughter of Iranian Shi'a. They will intervene. This, in turn, will require men, money, materiel to be expended, and those men, that money, that materiel so expended will further reduce the popularity of the government of the Islamic Republic of Iran. The more fanatical supporters, i.e. basiji, who leave their duties policing and intimidating fellow Iranians to fight (and, one hopes, die) in Iraq, the better not only for the disaffected Iranians who will not be quick to join them, but also for Infidels elsewhere.
Why the Amdinistration persists in killing Sunins on behalf of Shi'a, persists in thinking that it can, through mere head-counting "democracy," and then through the continued attention and money paid to nurturing that supposedly nascent democracy through its childhood, boyhood, and youth, just like a book of Tolstoy's reminiscences, remains unclear, except that this Administration seems to believe it can conquer Nature, or at least continue to ignore Mother Nature's mutations, and that in the same spirit of the heedless demiurge, not only dominate Nature, but recreate the human world in its own -- or what it takes to be its own -- image.
No it can't. No it shouldn't. It should do only one thing in Iraq: get out, and allow the natural fissures of Shia and Sunni, Arab and non-Arab, widen and widen and widen, to the great good fortune of Infidels, who if nothing else, need to buy time until a more informed political class comes to power all over the Western world, in its governments, in its armed services, in its judiciary, in its press, radio, and television.
Hugh, re, your last paragraph: from your lips...fingers?....to God's ears.
I really dont think that the West will get "it" until after more millions die. Face it, there is just not enough of the western leaders with the wit to read the warning signs, or even far worse, read them and ignore them.
I can see the logic to Hugh's contention that the fissures within Iraq could work to our benefit but the argument would still remain within "the family" of Islam, and the Western concepts of individual freedom and responsibility would still be the Outsider.
If we're going to create Mideast fissures let's make it on a grander scale, that Abdul Average has a better shot of coming out on the positive side of quality of life issues with an imperfect but elected legislature than with the clerics and despots.
I was in favour of the removal of Saddam Hussein, but I must admit that I now doubt it was the right thing to do. When dealing with Arab and Islamic regimes I am beginning to think that our ideal of Human rights and the need to apply them and democracy across the world is an unpardonable self-indulgence.
Iraq is a prime example. They had a repressive, despotic regime headed by an evil, psychopathic murdering *******. But the attitude of most Arab nations and some Iraqis themselves seems to equate to 'Well he may have been a murdering thug but at least he was our murdering thug'. So our troops now sit in the middle, targets of suicide bombers who also kill numerous Iraqis daily. Meanwhile our troops get the blame fore the bombings and killings, mostly from such as 'gorgeous' George Galloway.
The US propped up Saddam for years to keep Iran in check, which he did, by waging a bloody war on them. But when you breed a savage dog it sometimes turns on you as with the invasion of Kuwait. So in the end the dog has to be put down, but meanwhile the even nastier dog next door is now barking and rattling the fence which it didn't dare do before. So you now have another problem you have to either take on the other dog yourself or make sure the new top dog in your yard is as big and ugly as the one you just put down.
Excuse the extended metephor. But unfortunately for us Democracies are not generally big and ugly. They might act big but if they get too ugly the electorate gives them a kicking.
So what do we do with Iran. Well I suggest let them build their Nucleur facility. Park a satelite or six over it to watch every move and the day they try to fire it up, bomb it! I guess the Israelis plan to do just that. Let's hope so because I don't think any Western leaders have got the cojones!
Anyone who thinks that bombing it is too harsh needs to go and read some history books covering the 12th to 16th centuries. In them you will find plenty of eveidence of what happens when Relgious leaders get to wield Political power. The Spanish subjugated large chunks of South and Central America with weapons such as the sword and early guns plus a little germ warfare in the form of Smallpox! Imagine that philosophy equipped with Nucleur Capability. That is what we face.
