A searing indictment of dhimmitude and appeasement: "Legacy of September 11th, 2005: Israel Spawns Terror Base for the Enemy" by David Bedein:
As Israel pulled its troops out of the areas where 21 Jewish communities had thrived in the Katif district of Gaza and four more Jewish communities in Northern Samaria, the Israeli public was under the mistaken impression that the IDF handed over a piece of scorched earth to the Palestinian population. Hundreds of bulldozed homes from 26 Jewish communities of Katif and Northern Samaria were shown on the Israeli media being turned into rubble by Israeli army bulldozers. Not one Israeli media outlet showed the 400 public buildings that the IDF did not bulldoze - schools, youth clubs, town council buildings, shelters, and electric grids - which Israel handed over to the Palestinian Authority, founded by the PLO - an entity defined by the preamble of Israel's own disengagement plan as anything but a "peace partner".
It is hard to find anyone in Israel who knows that a premise of the Disengagement plan was to leave the buildings and economic infrastructure ONLY for a "Palestinian population not involved in terror", and that the Israeli government completely ignored that fundamental requirement.
Meanwhile, the PLO, which runs Gaza through its Palestinian Authority. is comprised of rival Arab terror organizations, all of whom remain in a state of total war with Israel, including the Fateh, headed by the titular leader of the Palestinian Authority - Machmud Abbas.
Yet in a generation weaned on the hopes of the Oslo process, it is hard to find anyone in Israel who knows that the Arab League, created for the sole purpose of destroying Israel, pioneered the PLO back in 1964 to fulfill that same goal, which has never changed.
It is hard to anyone in Israel who knows that the creation of a Palestinian entity in a section of "Palestine" was in keeping with the PLO's "strategy of phases", which was conceived by Abbas himself as an amendment to the PLO Covenant of war with Israel.
It is hard to find anyone in Israel who knows that the PLO never nullified its covenant of war to destroy Israel, albeit in stages.
Read it all.
These crazy Muslims, let them all gather together in one spot, like an ant hill.
Then...............well, we know the rest of this story, don't we?
I hope that the Israelis took lots of photos of these buildings before they left. A year of two from now, someone can take some "after" photos. I bet the buldings,if they are standing, will be dirty, rundown hovels, either not being used or being inhabited by Ma and Pa Kettle types (with lots of weapons of course!) Then, the before and after photos should be widely published.
And now the latest: the Palestinians are burning the synagogues that were also left behind.
Mary, did you say "if they are standing"?!?!
You are too slow!
In addition, unlike the MSM's reports today that PA "security" forces stood by helpless as uncontrollable crowds set fire to the synagogues, we here in Israel watched the news footage from last night, showing uniformed PA "police" happily joining in with the burning and using heavy sledgehammers to break the building's concrete supports.
But what else were you expecting?!
But last night Al BBC showed rows of industrious Palestinians busy planting strawberries while Orla Guerrila looked on with approval. But she still looked like there was a nasty smell under her nose.
The ground didn't look very well prepared to my eyes, but what does a city girl like me know?
"Orla Guerilla"

In Catherine's absence, a Gold Star (with six points) for you today.
Planting strawberries is one thing. Getting them to market and sold is quite another. I doubt I'll be in any hurry to buy produce of any sort from Gaza.
Thank you kind Waterdragon!
As it is 6 pointed I shall treasure it especially. Although I notice you corrected my spelling but without comment.
BTW where is Catherine these days?
What did one expect of Muslims? they destroy any places of worship other than theirs. It does not come as a big surprise that they are destroying the synagogues in Gaza. Israel should have destroyed everything before they left and left the land as they found it - desolate
I wonder what Muslims would say - and the world, for that matter - if Israelis torched all the mosques in Israel? Now that's an interesting thought! I get the feeling that Muslims wouldn't like it one little bit!
"Israel should have destroyed everything before they left and left the land as they found it - desolate"
I disagree. Best to leave things of value for the hyenas to fight over.
From abc newswire:
"But Naim, 50, wasn't optimistic. Neither was her friend, Yaffa Cohen, 60, who said Israel's withdrawal was a surrender to terrorism.
"I saw how the Palestinians entered the settlements, like animals, going crazy, burning synagogues. They aren't human," Cohen said, clutching heavy plastic bags with groceries.
After years of fighting with the Palestinians, Naim is also convinced it is only a matter of time before Israel is forced to return to the Gaza Strip to put down militants.
"We know from experience that they are fanatics," Naim said.
Not fanatics, just Believers following The Plan.
appropo the comment about 'hoping the Israel's took photo's of these communities before they left.
I was in Gush Katif, Neve Dekalim, Kfar Darom, and a few other Gaza communities before they were desecrated and destroyed. My videotape of those lands is something I treasure, and will no doubt
have tears over, for years to come. I have video of the security head, Amir Shaked, a lovely guy, a sweet man, a man of peace, and protection, who was himself wounded two weeks after I taped him, saving lives as two homicidists, slaughtered two grandparents sitting in their car Sat night.
This series of communities was a shining example of that self empowerment, growth with faith, with effort, with patience, with love of the land, and a sense of peace and effort, that is totally absent from arab lands.
It was remarkable to see and videotape the scenes of the farms, the homes and talk with the people there.
This series of wonderful communities has been sacrificed to the god of death, ala Czech 1938, and we are all going to pay heavily for this one; there will be death and death galore now, coming out of Gaza, and to the rest of the world, as well as to Israel.
For his undemocratic actions, supported by the US, the Euro's, Sharon gets a pass on his minor electioneering offenses, and now, the leftists, Beilin, Peres etc, will get monies with their partners on the PA, as well as Wolfensohn of the US.
By the way- Wolfensohn's 500,000 personal donation towards the 14,000,000 to transfer the hothouses to the PA is as far as I understand, a direct violation of the US understanding about financing groups involved with terror. And rest assured it is a much worse crowd that takes over these assets- Mohammed Dahlan, the security head, was involved in the schoolbus bombing that killed a bunch of children in 2000.
Plus all the destruction, the arabs, got 400 public buildings for their homicidism, which all the Arab countries preen on about how it was terrorism that won the land for them.
Now- the world will demand that Israel pull out of
Judea, and Samaria, as suicide bombers attack Israel in Israel next year, and the rest of the world.
And the west pretends it's all just swell, and good for us all.

I strongly believe that the "Palestinian cause" is going to implode. Civil war is going to occur in the territories. The thugocrats will struggle amongst themselves, all in view of the rest of the world. Terrorist bombings elsewhere (Europe) will also change the political equation, and to one NOT FAVORABLE to the Palis. After all, you can only let terrorists blow up so many voters before it begins to have an adverse impact on your political future.
Build the wall, a nice big one, sit back, and enjoy the show.
Then pick up the pieces after this is all over.
treehugger, disagree on only one minor point. All the world will not be there to see it, because these things get suppressed by the gangsters. (Any reporter or cameraman with any balls would be killed.) Still, the war will happen. All those greenhouses, public buildings, and farms are viable assets for the thugs to fight over. hamas is probably not happy that abbas gets to collect all the jizya from the west while they get the relative pittance from iran. Time for some payback, eh?
Granny:
No telling where Catherine may or may not be. She does go AWOL from time to time, presumably because she's busy with other things. Let's hope she hasn't been affected by Katrina in one way or another, unless she's volunteering with the relief effort.
Waterdragon
I would have particularly enjoyed her comments about the tennis player with the short skirts.
I'll keep her in mind, as I do Cubed.
