This actually took WAY longer than I thought it would.

Note that no one in the Western world rejoiced when predominantly Muslim Aceh was washed away by the tsunami. Instead, millions of dollars worth of aid and medications have been dispatched to the province. What do we get when a similar disaster hits America? Celebrations.

I recall watching Nightline about 8 years ago after an earthquake in Iran.The show was about the lack of charitable donations from the US to Iran.Americans are known as the most generous people on the planet but this show pointed out that the hateful rhetoric from Iran had so poisoned the atmosphere that Americans didn't care to donate.Muslims have so poisoned the atmosphere worldwide don't be surprised if the next time there is a disaster in the ME (and there will be a next time) people don't bother to contribute.

I expected this on Tuesday; what took so long? I'm very concerned that the savages within might exploit our current state of increased vulnerability to launch their vaunted mega attack using chemical, biological, or nuclear weapons. This would be the perfect time to hit the Great Satan, while so many of our resources are tied up with the horrific devastation on the Gulf Coast.
I'm still waiting for just one among the plethora of Islamic charities, aka terrorist financiers, to step forth and offer assistance to their fellow Americans who lost everything in the hurricane. We all know that will never happen, although muslims greedily snatch up handouts from us when they are struck by earthquakes, tsunamis, and other natural or Islamic inspired catastrophes.

Do you think one of them gives a damn about the suffering infidels in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana or Florida, people who helped make their success possible? But they demand to be recognized and included in the war on terror! How impudent and hypocritical they are; they are non-entities as far as I am concerned.

However hard Allah may be willing to work to raise the price of oil to $100 a barrel, it's really not necessary. OPEC can do that all on their own. Our nation's economic well-being is dependent to a large degree on the whims of the oil-producing Arab nations. Based on their rhetoric (and their actions that back it up), this is probably not a wise move.
Our national budget gives far too many subsidies to large companies that produce oil, and far too little to companies that develop alternative energy sources.
We live in a high-tech society, but it's still got the Fred Flintstone influence: we run our engines by burning decayed dinosaurs and vegetation.
BTW, excuse me if I'm not too broken up for not receiving pity or empathy from the Islamicidists.

Madzionist - Canada too has offered aid. We have that great DART sytem to provide fresh water, ready and willing to go at any time. Plus lots more. Last I heard, our government hadn't heard anything back from the US. We're always willing to help.
Look at the bright side - if oil keeps going up and up (which it will), companies like Honda and Toyota who are leading the way with alternate fuel cars/bikes, well it will suddenly become viable for them to mass produce these goods. And "goods" they will be.
Alternate fuel cars do exist, they are better for the environment, and, as more people get on board, the cost (like computers/DVD's / Mobile Phones etc) will soo come down.
But the biggest benefit of high oil prices, will be that the Islamistists will loose their golden goose. They will be back in the 7th Century, but without 21st Century money. That's why I believe the revolutionary Muslims (like Bin Laden) are turning up the heat, they know that they only have 20 years left max of oil revenue.
Years ago, one of Canada's greatest journalists by the name of Gordon Sinclair broadcast a piece (on CFRB Radio, Toronto, I believe)on how the world is so quick to condemn Americans, but always asks for her aid. He hit the nail right on the head. His broadcast became a classic. Wish I could find it now. When the tables are reversed, the world isn't so quick to respond.
