Maryland Man Accused in 'Jihad Network' Probe

More on the Virginia jihad network, which included, among others, former CAIR official Ismail Royer. "Md. Man Accused in 'Jihad Network' Probe," from AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

WASHINGTON -- A Maryland man was charged with conspiracy to help a terrorist organization, part of an investigation of the "Virginia jihad network" that has so far resulted in 10 convictions, U.S. law enforcement officials said Friday.

Ali Asad Chandia of College Park, Md., is named in a four-count indictment alleging he conspired to provide material support to the Lashkar-e-Taiba organization, which the U.S. designated a terrorist organization in 2001.

THANK YOU, AMERICA

I'm glad that the US has taken a firm stand against all groups that support terror, including those that finance terrorist groups around the globe.

Previously, the West ignored such groups as they posed little threat to themselves. In addition groups such as Lashkar-e-Taiba, had links with the Pakistani secret service, and because of friendly relations with Pakistan, the US and the UK ignored cells operating in their territories. This is similar to the Sikh terrorists who blew up the Air India flight in 1985. Inderjit Singh Reyat, the prime accused, had links with the Pakistani secret service and lived in Pakistan under its protection. Canada deliberately ignored Pakistan's role in the massacre because it had been a key ally during the Cold War.

The US is, finally, at the vanguard against the international fight against terrorism. I wish other countries, such as Canada and the UK, would do more to help the US, and fight Islamic and Sikh terrorist groups operating in their countries.

Barry

Why are you mentioning Royer? Wasn't he acquitted?

I haven`t heard of Sikh Terrorist Groups for a very long time
