Remarks courtesy Patrick Devenny:
Just as Jihad Watch predicted yesterday, Massachusetts Governor Mitch Romney’s comments concerning homeland security and American law enforcement’s inability to penetrate mosques have stirred up the usual vacuous condemnations from Muslim-American interest groups and their sympathizers in the press. The quote that has raised their ire is as follows:
''How many individuals are coming to our state and going to those institutions who have come from terrorist-sponsored states?" he said, referring to foreign students who attend universities in Massachusetts. ''Do we know where they are? Are we tracking them? 'How about people who are in settings -- mosques, for instance -- that may be teaching doctrines of hate and terror. Are we monitoring that? Are we wiretapping? Are we following what's going on?"
To most Americans, such rhetorical questions from a possible Presidential candidate would be considered sensible. After all, mosques have long been recognized as hubs for jihadist recruitment and the propagation of extremist ideology. Alas, the Muslim American Society, never a fan of sensible discussion, authored this missive in response:
On September 14th Governor of Massachusetts Mitt Romney suggested the need to wiretap and monitor Islamic Centers as well as follow foreign students attending Massachusetts Universities. Governor Romney's comments suggesting that any of these centers are engaged in teaching doctrines of hate and terror, is not only a lie, but unacceptable and does nothing more but create the same hate and fear against the Muslim Community that Governor Romney is suggesting the Muslim Community harbors.
Note that MAS is against even the “suggestion” that mosques or universities with large foreign populations could have anything to do with terrorism (I suppose Al-Farooq in Brooklyn, which was sending money to Al-Qaeda, or the Lackawanna, New York mosque where a Saudi recruiter got six young American Muslims to join the jihad against America don’t count). The Boston Globe joins the moronic response to Romney’s quotes with an editorial entitled “Romney’s Slip” (thanks to MB):
Romney said he concluded this kind of intelligence gathering is a federal responsibility. In the absence of evidence that mosques are terrorist havens in the United States, government officials need to avoid suggesting these revered institutions are targets of surveillance. And federal agents should not wiretap any one without a court order based on strong suspicion of wrongdoing.Romney also mentioned his fears about foreign students in the 120 colleges and universities of Massachusetts who come from terrorist-sponsoring states. ''Are we tracking them?" he asked. Again he concluded that this is a federal responsibility. Few students come from those few nations clearly linked to terrorists. Students from friendly nations such as Saudi Arabia, with influential extremist elements, need to be treated as potential allies and intelligence sources unless they show themselves to be adversaries.
And how would the wise men at the Globe editorial board suggest discerning whether such visiting students are “adversaries” absent a mechanism to observe them? Ask them?
Romney should demand that Muslim Student groups and organizations, clerics and mosques across the country to do three things:
1) Denounce the ideology of jihad and the glorification of martyrdom as expressed in Sura 9 and innumerable hadiths.
2)Denounce Sharia law as a legitimate political objective of Muslims.
The two ideological principles, jihad, fighting, struggling in the 'way of Allah' to defend and advance the faith and the rule of Islamic law, are the backbone of al Qaeda and the arguments if favor of Islamic attacks against the United States. If Muslims are not willing to denounce these two principles, then how can non-Muslim Americans and the United States government be sure that Muslims are not sympathetic, and perhaps even supportive, of Osama bin Laden and the jihad.
The reality is that the jihad is on, commitments have been made to delivery WMD to American cities and we have a right to defend ourselves.
So, speak up CAIR, MPAC, MSAs, denounce jihad, denounce Sharia or face the American public and a political system that will inevitably yield to the will of the people, a will that says 'protect us'.
And the third thing:
3)Assert unequivocally the equal political and moral rights of Muslims and non-Muslims, of women and men, of gays. Assert loyalty to the Bill of Rights and the United States Constitution over and above Sharia law.
No less than unequivocal assertions: no jihad, no Sharia, and loyalty to the fundamental principles of our society.
We are waiting.
"Few students come from those few nations clearly linked to terrorists. Students from friendly nations such as Saudi Arabia"
Will the ignorance never stop. Saudi Arabia our friend. Pretend friend.

Wiretap my fat azz. Deport the muslims. Bulldoze the mosques.
"Students from friendly nations such as Saudi Arabia, with influential extremist elements, need to be treated as potential allies and intelligence sources unless they show themselves to be adversaries."
Given the events of 9/11 and the demographics of the perpetrators (15 out 19 terrorists from Saudi Arabia), I'd be happier if the above statement were turned around: Students from "friendly" nations, particularly Saudi Arabia, need to be treated as potential adversaries.
The US is at war. Osama bin Laden, born in the friendly nation of Saudi Arabia, has declared it and has reaffirmed his commitment to it many times over. 9/11 was an act of war. The attack on the USS Stark was an act of war. The attacks on the US consulates in Africa were acts of war. Offhand, I would say that the friendly nation of Saudi Arabia has some accounting to do. Demanding that students from that country demonstrate their openess is a small price to pay for the privilege of study in the US.
The person who wrote this editorial seems unaware that many countries already monitor mosques and their personnel. They do so in France (often with informants). They do so in Italy (often with informants and various kinds of wire-taps). Raids on mosques have yielded false passports, other forged papers, dynamite, weapons, and all sorts of things that you will not find at the nearest church or synagogue -- indeed, you will never find at the nearest church or synagogue or Hindu temple or Buddhist temple.
And furthermore, among the countries that monitor what goes on in the mosques are Turkey and Tunisia, and quite possibly some of the five Central Asian stans. And even Pakistan seems to be getting into the madrasa-monitoring, and so possibly the mosque-monitoring (mosques and madrasas are joined at the hip) business as well.
Is it possible that the Muslim authorities in Turkey, Tunisia, Pakistan, possibly Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan, that the non-Mus;lim anti-terror squads in France and Italy and possibly Germany, know something about mosques that the editors of The Boston Globe, which seems to have opened its pages, by way of supplement to the predictable weekly Israel-bashing of the now long-in-the-tooth bowtied figure of fun H. D. S. Greenway, a regular series of Defense-of-Islam columns by outside contributors, do not know -- because they have not bothered to study either the contents of Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira, or the history of Islamic conquest, Islamic subjugation of non-Muslims, right up until modern times, when only, and only here and there, Western pressure managed to mitigate the full legal force of the shari'a and its mistreatment of non-Muslims?
Then, of course, there is the astonishing confidence with which certain observations, which have already been disproven around the world, and continue to be disproven, are made:
"Governor Romney's comments suggesting that any of these centers are engaged in teaching doctrines of hate and terror, is not only a lie, but unacceptable and does nothing more but create the same hate and fear against the Muslim Community that Governor Romney is suggesting the Muslim Community harbors."
"Doctrines of hate and terror" -- "not only a lie, but unaccpetable." Did the writer of this read 9.5? 9.29? Any of the hundred-odd Jihad-verses, that one can easily find simply by googling www.usc.edu, and reading with care, not CAIR, the various English versions of the Qur'an that are provided there, set out synoptically so any reader can compare the various translations? Or the same sure assertor can google "the Calcutta Qur'an Petition" and find out just what verses were presented in that important matter. And what of the verses about instilling "terror" in the Unbelievers, and the many stories in the Hadith, and in the Sira (the biography of Muhammad) that are all about killing, subjugating, suppressing, and "striking terror" into the hearts of, the Infidels?
Whereof we do not know, thereof we should not speak. Editors at The Globe seem to think they can say whatever they feel like. They are under no obligation, they think, to study the canonical texts of Islam. But they are.
And little by little by little, they will lose even more of their readers, the ones who still hold on for the television page, and the Filene's Basement ads, and important thingts like that. But if they continue to make fools of themselves, obvious fools, on the sujbect of Islam, they are going to lose readers faster, and faster -- even faster, I suspect, than the way Miss Clavel ran, when she was rushing to the bedside of Madeleine.
Apparently the Globe editors, however, are -- keeping to the Bemelmans theme -- and unlike Miss Clavel, not "afraid of a disaster."
But Governor Romney, quite reasonably, is -- and that is why he made his original suggestion, which one hopes he will not backtrck on in the face of transparent bullying by organized Muslims and their silly fellow-travellers.
The two most friendly nations Saudi Arabia and Pakistan are the worst. They breed terrorists who hate the US and send them over. I agree with Governor Rommney we need to keep close tabs on all Muslims and be vigilent.
They supply most of terrorists in our midst. If they dont like it - Then dont have to come to the US. Simple as that.
We should ASAP find alternate modes of energy, without supplying the dollars to Saudi Arabia to fund virulent Whabi Islam and terrorists who attack all the freedom loving countries.
Do not allow Saudi Clerics to install themselves in Mosques in the US.
Mitch Romney for PRESIDENT!!
Get this man into the White House...
Mitt Romney was on the "O'Reilly Factor" show tonight.
O'Reilly said that everyone agreed with Romney's suggestion that we monitor mosques, but few had the courage to say it.
Hugh
Gov. Romney may backtrack, if all he gets is critical emails from muslims and their symapthisers.
Now is the time to send him supportive emails, appreciating his candour and courage at a time when the nation, or for that matter Western civilisation, is in peril.
Just remember, we did this for Rev Alan Clifford when he was being attacked by all and sundry, and it was a remarkable success.
Also write to the Globe, asking them why is it so unreasonable to monitor mosques when even Turkey and other half-sensible muslim nations do so. As Hugh puts it, " Do they know somnething we don't?"
Ask them to explain their position, and what their response is going to be when yet another mosque imam is jailed for taking part in the jihad.
And lastly.
Write anon to the Globe, and explain in a sad tone, that even in the USA, it is not judicious to criticise any aspect of islam publicly. What a state we have come to, that freedom of expression without fear, has been destroyed.
The Fas-Fax report, which tracks circulation numbers in the newspaper industry has some statistics that reveal declining circulation for several newspapers. The Boston Globe, for instance, has experienced a 3.7 percent decline in daily circulation and a 2.1 percent decline in Sunday sales. The Globe says that the problems arise from bad weather, an influx of immigrants, and a general move away from traditional news outlets.

One way ro increase sales is to be contentious. But the USEFUL IDIOTS serve a purpose. Through their misplaced reportage they lure non-muslims to Islam.
In the `60s there was this `thing` for Zen, Krishna, belly button gazing etc. Where are they now. In fact a large portion of them dropped out from `dropping out`. They went on to do other things.
This time it`s Islam. The earlier movement was real peace. Now we have USEFUL IDIOTS.
Romney's statement was brilliant from a national political standpoint. Millions of average Americans are screaming "about time!" That Muslim groups and the Boston Globe jumped to criticize him just adds to the overall positives he will gain from his statements.
Unlike Tancredo's misinterpreted remark about Mecca, Romney sounds like the first politician to notice the obvious. Every bit of condemnation he receives for his remarks will bring up his name recognition on an issue which I'm positive resonates with most Americans favorably.
At the foot-steps of the parikarma, we were met by an arrogant Sikh Colonel. When the accompanying soldiers informed him about me, he promptly ordered "If he is the head Granthi, bring him inside." The parikarma had 6-7 tanks on it. Dead bodies were everywhere. I inquired from the Sikh Colonel if I could meet with the detained Sikhs. He replied that his orders did no allow it. However, when I informed him that our own staff was among the detained, he suggested that I could watch but not speak with them. He further emphasized that if I talked with anyone, I will be killed.

Places of worship of any name have a responsibility too.
Mossies are no exception. They cannot say their book tells them to kill and tell us to `understand` them. To me their book is dirty.

Where could anyone get the idea that mosques and schools full of Muslims be terror and jihad centers. From decades of experience!
Romney/Tancredo in 08!
1. I sent Romney a supportive email, as we all should.
2. My ears are deaf to protestations of innocence-condemnations of "terrorism" or other acts of violence by CAIR and their ilk. I am just as opposed to the creeping goals of Islamism as I am of pyrotechnics used to murder Infidels. The tactics are different but the strategic goals are the same. Actually, their violent tactics are more likely to wake up the slower among us than the "creepers".
Romney was interviewed by CNN's Wolf Blitzer today, mainly about disaster preparedness in Boston but also about his so-called controversial statement about wiretapping mosques.
Romney clarified that wiretapping entailed probable cause and a court order, but he did not back down from his desire to monitor what is being taught in US mosques and religious schools.
Romney also cited the need to monitor the travel of foreign students and abuse of student visas.
Very encouraging, he is not backing down and offered no apologies to CAIR etc.
