Nigerian Islamic judges have ordered that a teenager from Niger have his hand cut off after he confessed to stealing a motorbike, court officials said on Monday.This is thought to be the first time that a foreign national has been sentenced to amputation since northern Nigeria began to reintroduce sharia, the strict Islamic legal code, in 1999.
Lawal Usman (19), from the Niger district of Maradi, was convicted under sharia law in the northern city of Katsina on Friday, court registrar Nasir Darma said.
A presiding judge at the Katsina Upper Sharia Court Three, Mustapha Sani Saulawa, ruled that Usman should have his right hand amputated at the wrist. The convict has 30 days to appeal the sentence.
"It does not matter where the offence was committed. Since he was arrested here, he is liable," Saulawa said, according to the registrar.
Only Islam condones such barbarism. We live in the 21th century, why deprive a young man the use of his hand for some wrong he did. They could put in jail for a few years. If this barbaric act is carried out, this young man will be handicapped for the rest of his life. Dont these muslim judges see the cruelty of what they do. We are in the 21st century, it appears nothing in the world can change Islamic barbarism, one can see it evey day on the news from Iraq.

If the amputation of a hand (and 'amputation' is too elegant a word to describe what really happens - the phrasal verb 'chop off' really is a more accurate way of describing such acts of barbarity) is what they deem as appropriate for the stealing of a motorbike, what would they deem appropriate punishment for the stealing of several million dollars?
But then, that is a redundant question because Muslims have no concept of using punishment to fit the crime. We hear this when they talk about stoning a woman to death for adultery, beheading someone in the public square for a capital offence (with onlookers encouraged!), throwing homosexuals from minarettes, etc. The list of punishments which defy belief is long. But it may well be asked: Don't Muslims behave in the way that their god behaves, too? He is one for retribution and punishment. He metes it out by the galore!

I truly despise what Islam is doing wherever it dominates. Growing parts of thw world grow dark with its depravity. Yet our Western leaders ignore it all, and pretend it is transitory despite 1400 years of evidence of its permanence.
It is time to raise the drawbridge, no more Muslims can immigrate to the West. It is the only way to save our societies from becoming like Nigeria. People will scoff at such a statement, but just look at the trends. Indonesia and Malaysia were once considered 'tolerant' but as the Muslim part of the population now exceeds 80%, you see the change before your eyes. Take the way women dress. The women's dress is becoming like Saudi Arabia, except they are dressed in white not black and have not yet fully adopted the veil with slits for eyes. This repressive dress code was not common a decade ago, now it is pervasive. Christians and Hindus and other religions were relatively 'safe', now the aggression and attacks grow in their frequency and brutality.
It is disturbing. It is disgusting. Any Islamic country, as it becomes homogenous, i.e., almost everyone is a Muslim, it becomes more intolerant, more repressive, darker, and depressing. Then Islam starts feeding its hatred on the Muslims themselves. Muslims are judged on their piety. The Sunnis, who dominate Indonesia and Malaysia, attack the Shiites and other groups deviating from Sunni dictates. It's all part of the drive to 'pure' Islam. Pure vile to me.

Fired Islamic School Principal Wins Suit
(AP) - SANTA ANA, Calif.-Agreeing there was sex discrimination in her firing, jurors awarded $788,000 to a principal at an elementary school run by an Islamic group.
Zakiyyah Muhammad, a convert to Islam, was fired two years ago as principal of the Orange Crescent School in Garden Grove, run by the Islamic Society of Orange County.
Her lawyer, Ed Connor, said she challenged male superiors, and gender bias led to her dismissal.
"Our case was she did not fit stereotypical notions held by Muslim men of how Muslim women should act," Connor said.

Nicolei puts is well that that sharia puts more value on stolen property than on human life. Even more reprehensible is the fact that sharia legalizes slavery. Here is a theological argument why slavery is merciful. If you die an infidel you go to hell, period, end of discussion. In contrast, if you become a slave of a believer, there is a chance you can repent before your death and avoid the horrible fate awaiting an infidel. Hence, slavery is humane as you get a second chance to follow your master, repent and save your soul.
The world must combat sharia. Abolish it now. Sharia is a war crime. Abolition now. Where is John Brown when he is needed?

The lessons of history are plain and uncomplicated: Islam, wherever it is allowed to take root, eventually takes over; and the stronger it gets, as you rightly say, the more intolerant it becomes. The way I learned it, in the early stages of a child's moral development the most appropriate punishment for even the slightest transgression is the most awful punishment concievable. Which I think speaks volumes about the current state of Muslim morality: They are children who never grew up.
