Pakistani cricket player and convert to Islam: "One day Islam will be the world's sole supreme religion"

It is understandable that Yousuf Youhana would have a convert's enthusiasm. But it is noteworthy how immediately he expresses that enthusiasm in terms of supremacy. "One day Islam will be the world's sole supreme religion: Yousuf Youhana," from ANI, with thanks to Sparta:

Pakistan cricket player Yousuf Youhana, a Christian by birth and the first non-Muslim to represent present Pakistan cricket team, has formally announced his conversion to Islam.

After offering Isha prayers at the house of Pakistan Hardware Merchants Association President Sheikh Imran Daud on Saturday, Yousaf said he had embraced Islam three years back, but he kept it secret due to unavoidable circumstances, and that his new name was Moahammad Yusuf.

The cricketer said there would be no non-Muslim in Pakistan provided the Muslims became true believers and start following in the footsteps of Hazrat Muhammad (SAW).

"This will also tend to initiate a global wave about embracing Islam by the non-believers. God willing, soon a day will come when Islam will be the sole supreme religion of the world," The News quoted him as saying.

Ahh.. Yohana was a Christian? I always took him for a Muslim. Anyways i bet he converted to retain his place in the team.

There is no need to change my name either as I am living in India (unlike Pakistan), here a lot of Muslims (almost in hundreds at a time) have already and openly converted back to Hinduism.
http://www.faithfreedom.org/Testimonials/QadirSheikh50905.htm

I myself know of 70 persons in 2 extended families in a village in India who have done so.

I think a lot of these people convert to Islam because they think Islam is going to come out on top in the world, and because of their high position and recognition today, they think they will achieve a privileged position in what they believe will be the 'new world order.' Maybe that is one of the reasons Grover Norquist became a Muslim.

Non vedo l'ora. Can't wait.

Who is that cricket playing kidding? Himself? The international press? Christians in Pakistan, as well as the remaining Hindus, are treated as fourth class citizens or worse. Why would he have to conceal his conversion to Islam for three years? Who is going to threaten him and object to his conversion....powerful Christian politicians in Pakistan or ruthless Christian gangs who run the streets raping Muslim girls and intimidating and killing converts to Islam? I don't think so.....I hope that his Christian family is left in peace but it sounds like Yousuf a.k.a. Moahammad, in his arrogance, is a prime candidate for intimidating and threatening his own family into forced conversions to the "religion of peace."

The Nazis also wanted to rule the world.

Who is he kidding, Moahammed Youhana converted to Islam to get a place in the Pakistani Cricket team.
Converted 3 years ago my foot!!. One does not have to hide when converting to Islam as the Christians or Hindus do not call for the killing of a person who leaves thier religion, unlike Muslims. So why does he need to hide the fact of his conversion.
Its all Bull. Why even give any publicity to jokers like this one. As for Islam being the dominant religion in the world - dream on.............

A lil update from Bismillah Brod. Corp.

Mohammed Yousuf's mother says she had been worried about her son's behaviour for a long time.

She blamed the brother of a former Pakistan cricket player, Saeed Anwar, for "ruining my son's life," according to the Daily Times.

Saeed Anwar and his brother have become Muslim preachers who preach from the platform of Tablighi Jamaat - Pakistan's largest non-political religious grouping.

Yousuf confirmed that he was a regular at the preaching sessions held by the Tablighi Jamaat.

But he told journalists that he had converted of his own free will and there was no pressure on him to do so.

"I cannot tell you what a great feeling it is," he told the BBC.

Officials in the Pakistan cricket board say members of the Tablighi Jamaat have been visiting the board's offices and training camps regularly over the last several years.

Most of the team members have become overtly religious over the last few years, the official said.

Maybe he's been smoking that camel poop bin Laden et al relish so thoroughly...

They will need to pray in November when this squad hits them.

I expect they will cheat again.

"The Nazis also wanted to rule the world."

King: So did everyone else. Your point?

Who F-ing cares what this guys says or thinks about the domination of Islam? He is entitled to his opinion, no need to feast upon this as yet another doomsday prophecy.

Afterall, to remind you all once more, Christianity had similar aspirations not too terribly long ago. Just ask the millions slaughtered in South and Central America about their "choice" to convert to Christianity. I add, they were also forced to speak Spanish or Portuguese, or French, when they were forced to assume a religion based on the "peace" of Christ.

Anyhow, I assure you I, for one, will remain as secular as ever should the world suddenly go halal.

Converting to Islam is like those wannabees who had to have a ticket, at any cost, on the maiden voyage of that grand unsinkable ship Titanic!

Al-Qaradawi makes clear in his guide to what is Halal and what Haram in Islam that sports are only to be encouraged that physically prepare the participants for the Jihad -- i.e., somehow are connected to physical training. Wrestling, shooting, weight-lifting -- all okay, even as competitive sports. Tennis and golf obviously not okay. And cricket? Cricket strikes me as one of those things that islamically would normally be haram. And as a sport, it originates in Infidel England, and was brought by the British rulers to India (and therefore to Pakistan).

It would appear that this fellow is in the wrong sport if he wishes to be true to Islam. He should quit, spend more time reading the Qur'an, the Hadith, the Sira. Forget those cries of "well-bowled." Forget wearing whites at Lord's. Stick to Islam, Islam, Islam. Nothing better. It will increase the sum of human happiness, all way round.

Well done Mian Yusuf! Earning huge money by any means is the sole purpose of South Asian cricket players. You should tell how many million dollars you have received (from Saudi Money). Your's disclousre will fecilitate conversion of rest of Paki kafirs. Since it will be without killing Kafirs, Islam will again become religion of ?peace. Oh! I am sorry for this (advice), I forget that you are now a true muslim and as a precondition(to be a muslim) you have already thrown your brain into Arabian Sea.

Having learnt admirably from muslims for hundreds of years, it is not surprising that the conquistadors did their bit in S. America after shit-kicking the muslims out of spain.

Incidentally, those millions who died were also on account of internicine warfare and epidemics (cholera etc.)

The Islamic doomsday watch still holds.
Islam hates secularists more than they hate christians and jews.
And in true islamic spirit they`ll be very halal about it.

KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 20 (AFP) - A Malaysian woman who converted from Islam to Christianity has lost her long-running legal bid to have her former religion struck off her identity card, reports said Tuesday.

Lina Joy, an ethnic Malay, was originally known as Azlina Jailani but changed her name when she converted to Christianity 1997.

Kingky misses it again...The conquest of the Americas was not done to spread Christianity, but to loot the place. The mad frenzy to find Cibola, seven citys whose streets were paved with gold, was not to build a church, but to rip up the pavement and send it to the queen or whoever. There is little or nothing in the Christian scriptures that encourages looting. There is little or nothing in the Christian ideology that directs or encourages murder in order to plunder. Some of that may have been done as you state, not because of Christianity, but in spite of it. But of course, Allah says that loot is good, Mohammad went out and got lots of it, so looting is not an activity endorsed by Christianity, but is endorsed by Allah and the Prophet. Had muslims invaded the Americas, they would have looted the place and forced all surviving inhabitants into conversions and slavery...But for some reason Allah did not provide muslims with the means to do that, so I guess it's not in the plan...Allah knows best...or so they say...

Not surprising. Ruling the world is a huge theme - perhaps the key theme - in Islam.

And that's also a key difference between Christianity and Islam: Christianity wants your soul, Islam wants your land.

This message is for Mr. Mohammad Yousuf. “I am Pakistani Christian and I am proud to be Christian” S

One action of Mohammad Yousuf former “Yousuf Youhana” has left ten million Pakistani Christians answerable at their works, at their colonies and at their gatherings therefore I feel, as a Christian, I do possess a right to ask few questions to Mr. Mohammad Yousuf as well:

(a) If you have embraced Islam for last three year, why did you make the sign of cross while making 50 and 100 during past 3 years? Answer us, because you do,t have right to disgrace our sacred sign.

(b) Do you know, when you come to play in the ground the spectators raise their voice as, "O BHANGI AA GAYA MAIDAN MAIN HAIJ MALO". This sentence really hurt us at that time but from now own we will not be hurt any more because you have stopped them to say so.

(c) I know everyone has right to make their personal decision but when someone from the minority gets the high position, his responsibilities also increases with its position, he actually becomes the ambassador (representative) of a certain community. As you were also the ambassador of Christian community but as an ambassador, you deceived us and played with our sentiments. You are a disloyal. Just consider how you could be loyal with Islam, once you were disloyal to Christianity.

And don't worry; we, Christians are not sorry at all about you but on the

contrary we are very happy that our community has got rid of a Deceitful and a Disloyal person.

Stephen.

LAHORE: Star cricketer Mohammad Yousaf's decision to convert to Islam annoyed his parents so much that he had to spend two days out of his house and is still not dining at home with his parents, sources told
http://www.dailytimes.com.pk/default.asp?page=story_19-9-2005_pg1_6

As someone who has spent a significant amount of time in Pakistan and is very familiar with the Pakistan cricket team, please let me clarify some points.

1) Yousaf Youhanna has not converted because he was going to be dropped. He's been one of Pakistan's two top batsman for over five years and his position has never come under question.

I thought for a bit that he might have done it to try and get the captaincy but again there's not much to support that. Most cricket fans would agree that temprementally he wasn't right for the job and is best used as a specialist batsman. Besides Younis Khan's recent performances have singled him out as a clear sucessor.

2) Having cleared that up, are Youhanna's views that dissimilar from say those people in America who believe in Rapture?

3) Personally I think that it's a shame that Youhanna converted. He was an example of a minority rising to the top of Pakistani society without discrimination. Danesh Kaneria a Hindu also in the national side is another example.

Of course minorities do suffer discrimination, but it can be blown out of proportion at times. I'm worried though that other Christians may now feel pressured to convert.

That's it for now. Hope to continue the discussion.
