In other words, we will use terrorism until we attain our goal. From the Jerusalem Post, with thanks to Scaramouche:
The Palestinian Authority will take all necessary steps to fight terror in Gaza provided Israel withdraws completely and gives hope there will be negotiations over a Palestinian state and more pullbacks from the West Bank, Palestinian National Security Adviser Jibril Rajoub told The Jerusalem Post. But another PA official said Hamas was preparing to push the PA into civil war to gain control over Gaza and weaken the PA in the West Bank.
"The killing of Moussa Arafat was a clear sign that Hamas and other extremists want to create total chaos and push the PA into civil war," the PA source said. "We have information that those behind the attack were close to Hamas and know that they want to target other senior security chiefs."
While Hamas wants to participate politically, they will try to keep the conflict burning in the West Bank with extremists from Fatah and Islamic Jihad, the source added.
What would be wrong with giving the Palestinians not one, but TWO states: East and West Palestine? It worked for Pakistan, why not Palestine? A portion of the West Bank would become East Palestine and Gaza would become West Palestine. They could pool their votes in the UN and double their political power in the international community. They could each appeal to their sister Muslim nations for economic aid to double that as well.
This is all so perfectly predictable one wonders if it qualifies as news. What is news, of course, is not what Muslim Arabs, or other Muslims, demand and will always demand as long as they remain true to what Islam inculcates, but the various ways that various Infidels choose to ignore or misinterpret or understand but think that the best part of a shallow machiavellianism is to pretend that Islam is not, cannot, be what it is, and if only Infidels hold their breath, and play let's-pretend, then Muslims themselves may play let's-pretend and ignore, in the end, what Islam teaches them to do.
This is most obvious in the case of Israel, a country which in modern times (i.e., the 20th century) has been the first victim of Jihad, for before the retreat of the English from the Middle East (first from Egypt, then from Iraq -- a state they created, then from Jordan (ditto), with the final removal of all those Glubb Pashas and Alec Kirkbrides, and finally from the Gulf sheikdoms and Aden, the first because it was too expensive, it was felt, to maintain British garrisons to keep the peace, and the second because of a "Marxist" (the Marxism simply an awkward overlay, as J. B. Kelly has noted, on a Muslim substructure), and the French from North Africa (the troops, with the pieds noirs and harkis in tow, leaving the first and last and indeed only full-fledged French colony, Algeria, in 1962-63), and then before the wherewithal that the trillions of dollars that the oil supplied (an accident of geology which threw off the revenues that pay for Da'wa across the globe, those mosques and madrasas and propaganda machines, often well-oiled and maintained and run by Western hirelings from every relevant profession -- diplomats, professors, the public-relations advance-men of Muslim invaders and would-be conquerors from within), and before the Western world had allowed into its own borders millions of Muslims, procreating busily and determinedly, usually on the Western dole, and making demand after demand (for Shariah law, for prayer-rooms in schools, for an end to the teaching, or recognition, of the Holocaust, for a rewriting of the history of Western civilization itself, so as to depict Islam not as a force of enmity, destruction, and suppression of free thought and artistic expression, but as something quite different -- a benign and fructifying influence, without which, it is now implied, Western civilization itself would not exist).
It is a pity the Israelis, like the British and the French and the other Europeans, like the Canadians and the supposedly muscular Americans, do not raise in public the true teachings of Islam, instead of refusing to learn about them, much less to publicize them. For if they said -- yes, we know there is no possibility of permanent peace according to the doctrines of Islam. Yes, we know all about the Treaty of Al-Hudaibiyya and what it implies not merely for us, but for Infidels who rely on treaties and agreements signed by Muslims. Yes, we know exactly that there will be demand after demand after demand, and then another demand after that, and then another. And if we continue to yield, we will have nothing. And this is a lesson for us, and it is a lesson for Europe, and for North America, and for Australia, and for India, and for black Africans who are not Muslims from Nigeria to the Sudan, and all the way down to those cafes in Capetown that are intermittently bombed by Muslims expressing their displeasure at modern mores.
Let the Muslims be put on the spot. Let them prove that the vast historical evidence, and the passages themselves -- in Qur'an, Hadith, and Sira -- are not what we all (we who bother to study Islam) know them to be.
Instead, this crazy policy of pretending Islam does not motivate people in such a fashion can only lead to disaster. For Israel, but also for those who, taking their cue (even if in many cases they are not friendly toward) the government of Israel, will watch the Lesser Jihad against Israel unfold, and be unable to connect its progress, and the steady triumphs of Islam in whittling away at this Infidel state, with the triumphalism, and sense of inevitable victory that whets, rather than sates, Muslim appetites, in Europe and in Asia and in Africa and even in the United States, a country whose rulers, those whose duty it is to instruct us, have failed so miserably to do so, instead focusing their efforts, and raising fears about, and concentrating all attention on, something they call, so misleadingly, the "war on terror."
It is not. It never was. It is a war of self-defense against Jihad, against the many, the hundreds of millions of Muslim Believers, who believe that Islam has a right and a duty to cover the globe, to dominate everywhere, and to kill, convert, or subjugate all Infidels. A failure of imagination as well as timidity may explain the current Administration's policies -- a failure of imagination and timidity that is demonstrated constantly, unfortunately, by those who are so bitterly opposed to the Administration.
Save for a handful of political figures (e.g., Congressman Tancredo) it appears that left and right, up and down, backwards and forwards, everyone is determined to keep pretending, to refrain from studying and pondering, to mislead and misname and even pretend that it is we who are at fault and have the duty to "win hearts and minds" of Muslims -- a preposterous and even sickening view of the situation.
Fools seem to rule. Perhaps, waiting somewhere, the non-foolish are merely biding their time. But why? And for what? Do they not think they would obtain support, with a rush of gratitude, if they began to even hint at the truth of things? They have merely to talk about how inadequate this phrase "war on terrorism" is. They have merely to mention that this is a war to defend against a relentless Jihad. They have merely to talk, the next time they make one of those pro-forma pro-Israel speeches, to introduce a new, and true, note -- that the relentless opposition to Israel is not sui generis, but rather a specific case of a generic and wider problem, shared by all Infidels. It is one example of a Lesser (in the sense of local) Jihad, but all these Lesser Jihads everywhere are merely parts of one Greater Jihad to cover the globe.
The fact that we regard it as fantastic, and clutch at such adjectival straws as the word "moderate" or "reform-minded" Muslims, without examining the real beliefs of such Muslims, or the quickness with which they engage in taqiyya-and-tu-quoque argumentation instead of recognizing, and admittting to, the real nature of Islam.
It does not matter if in some cases that failure of Muslims to admit to what Islam teaches, and to distance themselves not for public-relations purposes and to keep their own positions safe within Infidel lands, may come simply from a deep filial piety, an embarrasssment that becomes a need to defend the indefensible, to deny the extensive evidence (the history of Muslim Jihad-conquest and subseguent treatment of dhimmis cannot continue to be hidden or ignored, not after Bat Ye'or, or Bostom's just-published compilation of articles by both the most important non-Muslim scholars of Islam, in the uninhibited heyday of such scholarship (1880-1960) and includes as well the unambiguous statements on thge meaning, and necessity, for Jihad by the most important juristsfrom within Islam itself.
The only legitimate reason for leaving Gaza, territory to which Israel had a legal, historic, and moral claim, based on the Mandate itself, and on the way in which that territory was won in a war of clear self-defense, would be that it was not "practical" to retain it. That argument may have prevailed, but it remains a doubtful one, for it implies some rational calculation on the part of the enemy, some sense that the appetite will be sated, that the Arabs in Gaza (or "Palestinians") will somehow get on with the business of economic activity, building factories and schools, in order to build better lives -- in short, all those things that Western Man assume take precedence, and that will give those "Palestinians" a stake in peace.
This is nonsense. This is a failure of imagination, a failure to imagine what it is like to be born into Islam, to be raised in a society where Islam is everything, and where Islam is never seen as a cause of the clear tendency to support one corrupt despot after another, and his cronies, where economic backwardness, despite the vast sums poured into supporting first the "Arab refugees" (the best-fed, best-housed refugees in history, with the most international support) and then, when after 1967 they metamorphosed into the "Palestinian people," continuing the economic support and adding to it diplomatic and political support that made the U.N., for example, appear to be identical to the Arab League, in its views, and in its sense of the world-shaking significance of the "Palestinian" issue. Indeed, the Soviet penetration of the U.N. never reached the levels, nor attained the success, of penetration of that corrupt and corrupting organization, that the Islmaintern International managed to achieve -- a point which all those who know something is not right with the U.N. but are not quite sure what it is, should focus on, for the next decade, as the Infidel world begins to revive, and come to its senses.
No, whatever the Israelis yield on, there will always be another demand. After all, Abbas has never hidden his view that his manner, his methods, are likely to achieve the same result desired by his friend and comrade Yassir Arafat, whom he served so loyally for 30years, in every way (just ask the shade of Cleo Noel, the American Ambassador murdered in Khartoum, or some still-living Swiss bankers well-known to Abbas who are no doubt laughing all the way to --to the bank -- where they carefully attend to those Infidel-supplied "Palestinian" funds that "disappeared" when Arafat did), and desired as well by those silly hotheads of Hamas and Islamic Jihad (a redundant phrase, to be read as red with redundant blood).
There will be, in the end, the demand for Jerusalem. The Israelis, the same leftist Israelis who keep putting reality and the future out of their minds, just the way so many of us, having no pensions and few resources, simply try not to think about the future. It is bad enough that we do this in our own lives. It is terrible when entire countries, so wilfully befuddled, fiddle with their own fates in the same distracted way.
"The killing of Moussa Arafat was a clear sign that Hamas and other extremists want to create total chaos and push the PA into civil war," the PA source said. "We have information that those behind the attack were close to Hamas and know that they want to target other senior security chiefs."
Live by the sword (terrorism) and die by the sword (terrorism).
Something tells me this is exactly what Ariel Sharon figured would happen and quite quickly, but so long as they are only killing each other and not Israelis, he's not going to shed too many tears.
"The killing of Moussa Arafat was a clear sign that Hamas and other extremists want to create total chaos and push the PA into civil war," the PA source said.
Arafat's cousin was dragged out of his house and killed by a huge crowd of the tiny minority of extremists.
The "Palestinians" may implode into civil war, but I doubt it, as long as they have the jooooos to blame for all their problems. Killing infidels is something everyone can work together on: Sunni/Shiite/Hamas/Hezbollah/PLO/AlQaeda/etc.
Halegu Khan said "What would be wrong with giving the Palestinians not one, but TWO states: East and West Palestine?"
Umm, they already were given TWO states. Of the original British Mandate to restore the Jewish homeland, Trans-Jordan (now just called Jordan) was created out of 70% of it for the Muslims and Jews were forcibly expelled.
Of the remaining 30% now, Israel has withdrawn from Gaza and Samaria (the "West Bank"), giving the Islamists their second state.
But hey, why not give the "Palestinian" jihadsts not two but THREE states? Maybe they'll be satisfied with that and leave the remainder of Israel in peace. If that doesn't work, how about not three but FOUR states? Or, not four but FIVE states?
Except that they've sworn that they will not stop until Israel is completely destroyed. Of course, they have the Qur'an on their side, since it says that any land that is conquered and comes under Islamic rule can never be allowed to revert to non-Islamic rule.
Maybe Israel doesn't need to give anything to the people who have worked so hard to kill Israelis. I know I'm talking crazy here, but maybe there could be one nation in the Middle East that is not a despotic Islamic dictatorship living under Shari'ah. What a bizarre concept!
Well, I guess it looks like I am going to scratch off Gaza as a potential vacation spot.
If Gaza (as well as the west bank) erupt into civil war, then that what is going to happen to the millions of dollars that the US is donating towards the PA?
They always want more. The agreed-upon conditions are never enough. Remember the tactics of taqiyya and kitman.
As in this case, new excuses and demands will be made. Remember the ultimate goal is "Islamic peace:" triumphant Islam with others be jizya-paying dhimmis or slaves.
