Easa Begzad will not get one million dollars from the Hayward, California, Police Department to compensate for insults to Islam made by two Hayward police officers. But it seems that he will not because the officers were able to convince the jury that they didn't make the remarks. Does that mean that if the jury had been convinced that the officers had called Islamic art "garbage," they would have given Begzad his million? From the looks of this report, no one seems to have been saying, "Hey, they called some posters on your wall 'garbage.' That may show them to be boors and idiots, so don't invite them to your next dinner party. But it doesn't entitle you to one red cent."
This case should never have advanced as far as it did. The fact that it did manifests once again that the mentality of dhimmi subservience has advanced with stunning rapidity in the U.S. Can you imagine some Christian bringing suit because someone called Christian religious art "garbage"? He'd be laughed out of court. But not Easa Begzad. "Insulting Islam" is apparently now a potential million-dollar offense.

HAYWARD — A federal jury has rejected the lawsuit of a Muslim businessman who accused two Hayward police officers of making derogatory remarks about Islam.Easa Begzad, who owned a Foley Street factory that manufactured Afghan sweets, sued the city of Hayward for allegedly violating his civil rights after police detained and hospitalized him following a police call to his business in 2002.
But after a civil trial that lasted nearly two weeks, a jury in U.S. District Court in San Francisco returned a verdict late Thursday afternoon in favor of the two officers. The jury rejected Begzad's demands for $1 million from the city....
Randolph Hom, an assistant city attorney for Hayward, said the testimony of Begzad and the two people who claimed to see or overhear the incident did not stand up in court.
"The key to the victory was that the jury believed the officers and rejected the testimony of Begzad, his friends, family and treating physician," Hom said Friday in a written statement. "Cases like this often turn on the credibility of witnesses."
The dispute arose in May 2002 when a property manager for Balch Enterprises, the Hayward company that leased the Foley Street building to Begzad, called
9-1-1 to report that Begzad was threatening to kill himself and his family.
Police Sgt. Keith Bryan, now the head of community services for the Hayward Police Department, and Officer Kenneth Hedrick, now a detective, responded to the call.
Khawaja has said police officers spotted the religious posters and tapestries Begzad used to decorate his wall and said, "What's that garbage?"
Police officers denied making those remarks.
By throwing out the case the jury is also saying that Begzard, his family, friends and physican all lied in order to extort money from the city.It would be nice if the city counter sued in order to discourage these types of bogus lawsuits.
This is just ridiculous. But I expect more of this. With each little appeasement, no matter how minor, the Muslim feels more empowered and will push, push, push. Any time some school board, or city council, or the US Congress gives in to some Muslim demand for whatever, it's another brick in the wall.
It's becoming almost de rigeur to grovel before Muslims. Idiot appeasers think this shows them to be enlightened, superior, intelligent and tolerant, but they are too stupid to see that they are just setting us all up for more blackmail, for more jizya & dhimmitude. How convenient to be a Muslim these days. You just have to whine and you've got pathetic, spineless infidels falling to their knees, asking how to assuage your hurt feelings. Bravo to the jury in this case! And sympathies to the policemen & their families, who had to go through all sorts of stress and defamation of their character for this Muslim parasite.

I see it as just another frivolous lawsuit. There are 1000s of the them daily and nearly all have nothing to do with Islam. He's just another con artist who got himself a con artist lawyer. It just as well have been hot McDonald's coffee or Girl Scouts ringing someone's door bell (which triggered a lawsuit I think in Colorado; the door bell "frightened" the women inside the house). Sometimes, when it quacks like a duck it's just a duck call noise maker.
In America, we are free to label art, even religious art, as garbage. It happens all the time. This case was filed out of fear and because someone was trying to appear politically correct. It appears that Muslims are attempting using the court system in the United States as they use anti-villification legislation in Europe and Australia.
This case should never have used valuable court time and should have been immediately dismissed as without merit.
CAIR keeps asking Muslims to keep careful records of any slights to Islam, and clearly, by its own activities -- for someone's or some country's deep pockets are making CAIR quite ready to go to court at a moment's notice. But the number of cases like this that are frivolous can be controlled if the expense of trying such a case is somehow pushed back onto the plaintiff. If it cannot or will not be done by the law, private parties can make sure that those who bring such lawsuits suffer.
How? By instituting their own private boycotts. No one need buy these "Afghan sweets." No one need stock them in their stores. Customers can make known in the friendliest possible manner to store-owners who carry them that they will find it difficult to continue to shop at such-and-such a store, if it carries such goods. One is, after all, free to buy or not to buy, free to engage the services of, or not to, and economic considerations are only part of why we choose a store or not. In 1956, would you have bought Soviet goods, had there been any to buy? Would you, in 1939, bought a Voigtlander camera? Of course not. Why not do something to discourage the likes of Ease Begzad, and his friends, the tellers of tale tales, hoping to make a cool million from remarks they apparently fabricated.
And even had they not fabricated them, the idea of such a lawsuit is idiotic. It should never have gotten anywhere. Why did it? On what grounds?
I wonder when these Muslims will ask for the Crosses to be removed from churches in the U.K.
After all the cross is offensive to many Muslims!!

One guy was on who had a visa turned down for his mother. You can guess why he wanted to bring her over - the woman was sick and would have been treated free on our NHS system. It includes statements like "If you believe that you have been discriminated against, seek help from a solicitor or Law Centre".
On the subject of schools, it advises
"Parents may find it useful to be aware that:
- children have the right to participate in a daily act of Islamic collective worship
- parents have the right to withdraw children from Collective Worship, Religious Education and Sex Education lessons, if they deem their content to be inappropriate
- schools are expected to ensure that their uniform policy is sensitive to the Islamic dress code. This should allow children to dress modestly e.g. wearing Hijab
- if there is no provision for halal food, Salah,
or Jumu’ah, discuss this with the school authorities"
Personally, I think school uniforms are a good thing, and should NOT be influenced by foreign cultures. And halal meat should be banned completely, as was recommended to the government by the Farm Animal Welfare Council - a recommendation that the government has so far ignored.
