Canada: Imam facing deportation

He's a moderate imam who lied about jail time he served for assault and about having been caught with a false French passport. Imagine what he would have done if he hadn't been so moderate. From The Gazette, with thanks to RG:

The imam of Montreal's largest North African mosque shocked his followers yesterday when he told them Canada wants to deport him for lying to get into the country as a refugee in 1997 and lying again to become a permanent resident in 1999.

Admitting he concealed information about jail time he served in France for assault in 1995, as well as having been caught with a false French passport in 1996, Said Jaziri vowed to stay at the Al-Qods mosque until he's deported....

"I'm a very moderate imam," Jaziri, 38, clad all in white, said in French under the gaze of more than 100 Muslim men who had come for Friday afternoon prayers at the mosque on Belanger St. near Iberville St.

"I'm staying here until expulsion - nowhere else," he vowed, as journalists invited for a hastily called news conference listened in, interrupted by people in the crowd declaring their faith in their spiritual leader....

Jaziri was in the news last month when he proposed using government subsidies to build a $20-million grand mosque for Montreal's rapidly growing Muslim population, an idea quickly rejected by Montreal's city administration.

`people in the crowd declaring their faith in their spiritual leader....`

snigger. snigger. mo flies out.

Ah, the tragic hero, bravely enduring the winds of oppression, alone against the monolithic juggernaut of conspiracy to deprive him, a simple man, of his desire to live a peaceful life devoted to worship and prayer.

Bye.

Some common sense has been exhibited by the Quebec and Montreal authorities - first jurisdiction in Canada to ban sharia and this:

"Jaziri was in the news last month when he proposed using government subsidies to build a $20-million grand mosque for Montreal's rapidly growing Muslim population, an idea quickly rejected by Montreal's city administration."

How many others are there out there in the West using false entry papers? As an understatement, he is at least a poor spiritual mode...but, to state, again, what we know about spreading Islam using any means possible,he was show his true spots: the use of taqiyya and kitmanare religious obligations when the goals and objectives of Islam clash with the laws of man.

I can see the faces of the faithful when confronted with the truth of his situation: "He lied? He broke the law? So what, he's a Muslim and a victim of discrimination!!!"

I seriously doubt our Northern multicultural neighbors would ever allow his deportation to occur, it's far too 'cowboyish' for such minor offences. And....our Northern multicultural dhimmi's have much bigger fish to fry(or so they think),

A Vancouver lawyer has won a procedural victory in her attempt to prosecute U.S. President George W. Bush under the Criminal Code{ed note: For, 'counselling, aiding, and abetting torture at Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq and at Cuba’s Guantanamo Bay naval base.'}

God help them all when they realize it is only they who have been accountable and responsible for their demise.

" ... he now says he was tortured in a Tunisian jail after being deported there from France in 1994, something he never claimed before to Canadian authorities.

"I was scared Canada would contact Tunisia about me," he told The Gazette, justifying his omissions. "I said to myself: 'I'll tell them only the little things, otherwise I'll be deported again."

Ahhh they learn so quickly, don't they?

This is so unjust -- Think of how all the other immigrants would have fared in Canada had they been held up to the same standards now being demanded of these poor victimized Muslims.

Every other wave of immigration had its problems too.

All of the other immigrants came from fascist totalitarians states -- From theocracies who threatened to annihilate the West -- with terrorists for leaders and figures similar to these moderate "imams" called priests -- many of whom also had been incarcerated for assault and who utilized false documents and lied about their entry visas etc...

Er...

Wait --

I think I have my "facts" wrong -- Come to think of it -- these Muslims are unique in the course of human immigration -- The only vaguely similar tale I can think of is the extremely small and extremely brief interlude involving Irish terrorism -- the jury is still out on that affair -- and there aren't 1.3 billion Irishmen adhering to the same ideology, thank God! And the Irish don't embrace an ideology which openly admits that its ultimate goal is world domination... Hmm....

A Muslim who lies to the authorities to gain entry to a nice civilized Western nation?
An Imam who lies to the authorities gain entry to a nice civilized Western nation?
Tell me it ain't so.

This lying Imam campaigned for a Sharia court in Canada --->>

But a Montreal imam, Said Jaziri, defended sharia on Radio Canada and said it was not inherently anti-women. He said it would be unfair to deprive people who wanted to bring disputes to an Islamic hearing of the recourse to which they were entitled.

Who do you believe -- This Imam, or your lying infidel ears and eyes?

There are degrees of illegitimacy in legal government. From where I stand the shade of the Canadian government's gray is becoming increasingly dark. We can't remain committed to a democracy that violates first principles of the rights of the individual. When a government violates those principles it is no longer legitimate, it is a tyranny. Has Canada gone that far? Not yet, really. But its increasingly close, moreso daily, to tyranny, and there will be a point that Canada will be plainly a tyranny. Even then, as a full-blown tyranny, there won't likely be an legitimacy in direct action against the state. My reason for making that claim is that there will still be an escape possible, that one might leave for other lands. Let the Canadians vote for tyranny if they so choose so long as those who do not choose are still free to leave.

Canada is increasingly abandoning the concept of universal law in the nation, there being one set of laws for some and a different set for others, all based on ideological considerations and vote-blocs. A nation of arbitrary law is not legitimate, in my view; but direct action against it is illegitimate in my view if one is able to leave. Where does that leave the committed democratic-minded Canadian with some stake in the nation as a nation? That person will have to learn to accept tyranny. That person will have to remain silent. That person will have to remain passsive and hope s/he is not caught up in a net of arbitrary arrest.

When there is a set of laws for Muslims, another for women, something else for "nice guys," and another for Liberal voters, then there is arbitrary law. There is, in effect, no legitimate law. No one is obligated to obey any law they can afford to break. If a Muslim can break one law but you can't, then there is no reason to respect any law other than ones moral code. And mine, if you care to know, is thin and ragged at the edges. For the rest there is anarcho-legality, a hotch-potch of relativism. The expression of the General Will without the entrenched protection of the rights of minorities is fascism. Forget juris. At that point there is only prudence.

And what are Canadians going to do? Likely nothing. What could they do? Well, there is no such thing as Canadian. There is no nation, only voter-blocs. Those who live in Canada are in deep gloom, according to me. Those who can see a way out should consider leaving. While they still can.

jsla posted: And the Irish don't embrace an ideology which openly admits that its ultimate goal is world domination.

Guinness does.

"Half the world is Irish, and the other half wish they were" (very little room for Islam).

As for the dhimmitudified dominion Canada: I will not stop fighting until forced to do so (and hockey dies) then I will head for the border.
