Colorado: Saudi Probed For Possible Terror Link

Rocky Mountain jihad? Al-Turki, of course, says it is all because he is Muslim. But the Indonesian maid he assaulted and enslaved was a Muslim too. "Saudi In Aurora Probed For Possible Terror Link," from CBS4Denver.com, with thanks to Jihad Watch News Editor Eric Schwappach:

(CBS4) AURORA, Colo. A Saudi man living in Aurora has been under investigation for possible links to terrorism, according to his attorneys.

Homaidan Al-Turki was already facing state and federal charges for enslaving and sexually assaulting an Indonesian maid.

Al-Turki, 37, is a graduate student at the University of Colorado, studying linguistics. He’s been in the United States since 1995. That’s when his lawyers said the investigation started....

Federal Court documents filed by Al-Turki’s attorneys detail the investigation against him. The documents claim the Denver Joint Terrorism Task Force has had Al-Turki under a “full fledge investigation” suspecting “he is closely aligned to terrorists and may be providing material support to terrorism.”

Al-Turki’s lawyers said the government has been looking into the proceeds from Al-Turki’s Albasheer Islamic bookstore in Aurora.

“This is very sad, but we Muslims basically after 9-11, have been profiled,” Al-Turki said. “And everything that is happening to us or every single Muslim in the community basically because we are guilty, no matter what.”

Al-Turki’s attorneys want to know more about an incident in Illinois last April.

Al-Turki was stopped by state police there on Interstate 80 near LaSalle. A message on the national crime information computer warned the officers “terrorist organization member-caution, do not alert this individual to this notice.

Al-Turki was only given a warning for having an “obstructed view.” His lawyers claim school documents in his car were copied and a 38-page fax was sent by the Illinois State Police to the FBI in Denver.

“Do you think this is happening to you because of your religion,” CBS4 asked.

“I am Saudi, I am a Muslim, and I think that’s an attraction to law enforcement by itself,” Al-Turki responded.

It is, and it should be. Would anyone seriously argue otherwise?

Hell yeah...

Raping the asian maid. A gulf pastime if there is ever one. If I had a dollar for everytime I read a request for fatwa by a Gulf man who wanted to be assured that it is halal to sleep with the maid.

“This is very sad, but we Muslims basically after 9-11, have been profiled,” Al-Turki said. “And everything that is happening to us or every single Muslim in the community basically because we are guilty, no matter what...I am Saudi, I am a Muslim, and I think that’s an attraction to law enforcement by itself,” Al-Turki responded.

Yes, because you know that a Muslim--especially an Arab Muslim--CANNOT COMMIT A CRIME. It's in the Koran, don't ya know.

Since when can a graduate student afford a maid? Oh that's right. He's a Saudi Arabian. I have an idea for Mr. Turkey: build a University in Saudi Arabia, and stop sending your college kids to America.

And if the whining about your victimization doesn't get the charges dropped, be sure to switch to Plan B, namely, "This is all part of a Zionist plot." And tell everyone that the police tortured you.

“Do you think this is happening to you because of your religion,” CBS4 asked.

Cry me a frickin' river.

from article: Al-Turki’s defense, in part, will be that Muslim religious and cultural norms are alien to most Westerners.

aw shucks ....

9/11 was the Muslim norm a-hole

so shove it

(can pig-bombs be OUR norm ?)

“This is very sad, but we Muslims basically after 9-11, have been profiled,” You think that the fact that all 19 terrorists on 9-11 were Muslims had anything to do with it, or could it be the verses in the Koran that command Muslims to slaughter infidels and strike terror in them until they surrender and either become Muslim or pay protection money (jizya) as a slave class (dhimmi)? Of course we musn't be judgemental, they are innocent until proven guilty. However, based on the facts:
“I am Saudi,..." .... Strike one.
I am a Muslim,"..... Strike two.

What a cry baby! I would ask Al-Turki where is his outrage at the murders and attacks his religion has brought to the world. But then I would be asking way too much from someone who could care less.
Me-me- me- me- me- that is their whine, it is all about you are picking on me, you are profiling me.
Well guess what Al-Turki why not, afterall we keep learning how terrorists come here to school, and on the side are planning attacks or sending money to their friends that will do the evil deed.

“And everything that is happening to us or every single Muslim in the community basically because we are guilty, no matter what.”

hmmmm ... is this a slip of the tounge or is it a confession?

Bohemond_1069 almost had it right...
“I am Saudi,..." Guilty as charged.
"I am a Muslim,..." Guilty as charged.

That confession is all the evidence needed by the koran or sharia law.
Off with his head,...Oh no, the ACLU says that's inhumane. Well then strap that rapist's _ss down on a gurney an give him three shots directly into an artery.

This guy's bond was paid for by the Saudi government, according to the article. There are charges pending not only in Federal Court, but in State District Court (Arapahoe County) as well.

Why didn't CBS interview the REAL victim? She lived on a matress in the basement. As seems common with these maid cases, Turki and his wife were withholding payment to the maid until the "end" of her contract.

There's more to this story. I hope someone in the Denver area will keep an eye on this, and let us know. Too often there are important stories that disappear from the news unless you really watch for the follow-ups.

It looks to me like this guy was busted because the police or Feds wanted to disrupt things. The fact that his bookstore is being looked into is a big clue. If this were just about rape and slavery nobody would waste time on the bookstore.

From the CBS4Denver.com link:
"Al-Turkis defense, in part, will be that Muslim religious and cultural norms are alien to most Westerners. Al-Turkis attorneys said it was while under investigation for possible links to terrorism, he and his wife, Sahah Khonaizan, were arrested by state and federal authorities in June."

"They were accused of virtually enslaving their Indonesian maid who authorities claimed lived on a mattress in the basement of their Aurora home. Authorities accuse Al-Turki of using the maid for sex."
Of course. That's the norm in Saudi Arabia and other countries with sharia law. Islam still permits Muslims to own slaves, which is why the Saudis have refused to sign the UN's Human Rights agreements or allow inspectors into their country. How dare we criticize this poor man for simply doing what his religion commands him to do? We should appologize profusely, kiss his feet, beg his forgiveness, and return his slaves and his bomb making equipment immediately, so he can be free to practise his religion as guaranteed under the Constitution.

"I am Saudi, I am a Muslim, and I think that’s an attraction to law enforcement by itself,” Al-Turki responded.

You think????????????????????

Does this mean..could this mean, that there is a little piece of our system..besides Internal Revenue, that actually works? Hot damn!

"“This is very sad, but we Muslims basically after 9-11, have been profiled,” Al-Turki said.

The problem here is that 9-11 was not an isolated incident. There was Bali and Beslan and Spain and Bali and London and London and ...

jay

Since they know they will be the victims of profiling and discrimination, why do they submit themselves to such vile treatment in the U.S.? If it is so horrible, why do they stay here?! There must be a compelling reason that forces them to live in perpetual fear and suffer such heinous indignities at the hands of the infidel crusaders. Could it be that these great personal sacrifices are made on behalf of an agenda for allah?

Jay, FYI since 911 there have been more than 3,000 attacks worldwide by Muslims against non-Muslims. When caught, attackers have frequently quoted from the Quran to justify their actions. It that isn't a patern, I don't know what the hell is.

Not relevant, but interesting, the perps name indicates that he (or his family) is from Turkey

In mujahideen (Muslim Brotherhood) circles, there is a penchant for adopting an eponym based on country of origin, for instance in Bosnia they would have mujahideen names like Mohammad al Britti (Britain) al Alemani (Germany) al Yamani (Yemen), al Saudi (Saudi Arabia), and the custom is still ongoing. These Muslims have so many names, and so many of them have names in common. Such as Saddam al Tikriti, which simply means Saddam from Tikrit, or Khomeini (from Khomein). This is a fact (commonality of names) which has enabled Muslims and their apologists to claim that at least six of the hijackers are still living.
