The Vatican comments on this attack, which was indeed barbaric. From The Scotsman, with thanks to Sr. Soph:
THE Vatican yesterday called the beheading of three Indonesian schoolgirls from a Christian high school a "barbaric" attack....The Vatican said the Pope was praying for renewed peace between the region's people.
I did not find this in The New Duranty Times. And the story of the beheading itself was a very tiny item -- a few lines tucked away. Why?
The beheading of the three girls was not merely "barbaric". To call that act "barbaric" is like saying the surface of the Sun is "a little toasty".
The beheading of the three girls was hideously, grotesquely, outrageously Satanic.
Hugh: Why you ask - because it's The New Duranty Times as you have pointed out. As the linked article below points out, the ND Times remains true to form whereby it twists another story to turn a hero into a victim to suit its own agenda.
FWIW the National Post covered the beheading story extensively today.

Of course the Pope condemns the beheadings. I'd feel a lot more comfortable, though, if major representatives of the Indonesian ulema came out and said, "Folks, this sort of evil must not continue. It is your Muslim duty to report what you know of the killers to the aquthorities..."
But has this happened, or can we even hope it will?
And, in a world in which these beheadings happen, along with the Alexandria anti-Christia riots, HRH Charles has to come to America to tell us to be more tolerant! If a Chritian mob in America surounded a mosque, the police would surely break it up. Had three Muslim schoolgirls been beheaded in Texas, you could bet that religion would not save the perp from a date with Jack Ketch (complete with oh-so-humanitarian Yurrup kvetching at American barbarism for imposing such a sentence on some poor misunderstood character).
I think this is one over which we should hold up posters of the victims at the next interfaith kissy-kissy.
I used to read the The Revelation of Jesus Christ by the apostle John, known generally as Revelations, and wonder about the passage in Revelation 20:4 which says that John, in a vision, "saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God...".
I had surmised that (like Tim Lahaye and Jerry B. Jenkins in the Left Behind series) perhaps somewhere along the march toward the end of time and the return of the Lord Jesus that the Antichrist's government would return to the use of the guillotine.
We know better now, don't we?
Barbaric? Yes. But also Satanic.

true we might be seeing the religion of the beast being practiced. there are many paralells, but remember the good book says we will never know the hour till it is upon us.
I want too like a catholic more hardness, but like the Pastor have to take care of the shep, and many times it seems like it´s a coward.
Not a single Muslim leader or Mullah anywhere, has condemned this cowardly slaughtering of three innocent girls on their way to school.
I hope a day will come when there is 'tit for tat' and the Muslims living in the west will pay the price for their silent approval of horrific acts by their compatriots all around the globe.
Even animals do not kill their own. When will this slaughter by the followers of Mohmmed end?
Christian school-girls beheaded, a Coptic nun stabbed, critics assassinated...when will the general public clue in to what is behind all of this? This is simply one of the tools of imperialist Islamism. Strike terror into the hearts of the enemy by killing them in gruesome ways and putting the dead and decapitated on display. All of this is fair game in Mohammad's book.
Influential people like the Pope need to make more courageous statements than what we've seen thus far. Our leaders need to address the Indonesian government directly in their statements to put real pressure on them. Islam needs to be identified explicitly.
The poetess Asma bint Marwan once expressed alarm about Mohammad's assassination of Abu Afak (another poet, an elderly man who had criticized Mohammad). Marwan was also assassinated. But now we need all of society to be "alarmists" like those poets, and we need leaders that will have the courage to be alarmist. Unfortunately, our leaders are for the most part playing at "hear no evil, see no evil, know no evil."
In these times, we need a Winston Churchhill who understands the nature of the threat and can speak clearly and passionately about it. We don't have such a candidate yet, but when he or she comes along, let's do what we can to get that person into public office. In the meantime, let's keep trying to educate the leaders we have now.
We know that islam is an absolute evil. We also know what this absolute evil teaches. We also know there can be no moderate follower of islam if they are truly muslim - islam is not a religion of peace as their own koran teaches. What I can not understand, while all knows this, is why we let them into our countries and are told to be understanding and tolerant of muslims when if given the chance they would never allow the same consideration to anyone who is not muslim or be willing to convert. I will say it if everyone else is afraid to - Deport them all and close our borders to all muslims. Harsh measures is needed to a harsh barbaric people.
