Iran threatens US interests over nuclear referral

They can’t be trusted. They’ve lied to us time and time again. Pressure or no pressure, they’ve done their best at times to endanger our interests so when will we begin acting on our own behalf?

Cut any and all funding to ALL Islamic nations. Shut down mosques all across the country, deport ALL illegal immigrants, make Saudi Arabia responsible for their actions of spreading hate literature and hold them accountable, and get out of a war that’s getting us nowhere. Let Iran do what they want and let Israel deal with them …they’ll level the place if let loose.

Above all else, get rid of the current batch of nitwits running the country and get people in there who are knowledgeable on the subject of Islam.

There are plenty of issues facing this country and the world, but none so important as the current plight of Islam and their war with the West. It’s beyond time that the news be accurately reported, that the enemy we face be accurately portrayed to the world, and the mindless Muslims who carry out atrocities in their God’s name be rooted out and removed from civilized societies before they can cause any harm.

Isolate Islam and allow it to war with itself.

If Iran wants a nuclear bomb to call their on we should let them have one...placed strategically in the middle of Tehran.

How stark our error was in invading Iraq, in the light of Iran's actions. If we went against Iran for the ACTUAL nuclear program that represents a real threat, it might have been a real success. Consider:

Iran is far more culturally homogenious than Iraq.

Iran is Shiite, and there are no big neighboring Shia nations to pour Jihadist maniacs into Iran.

Iranians are fed up with Islam, and not just their government. If their Islamist government fell, the country would be fertile ground for proselytising by more sane religions. Iranians in the west convert to Christianity (or just become atheists) in huge numbers.

We would really have FOUND A WMD PROGRAM. Imagine if we were honest for a change. Our credibility would be a bit better, no?

Iran is strategically a natural ally of the US, as opposed to Iraq which has to deal with its pesky Sunni population.

We could have cut off one of the snake's two heads, the other being our ally the Saudis. But it was not to be. Bush and his cronies made their choice long before 9/11 to go after Iraq (check out Price of Loyalty by Suskind, about Paul Oneill's experience as Treasury Secretary).

Then again, any such invasions are adventurism. The belief that we could collapse the Islamist government of Iran and secure cooperation from the people is questionable. Unintended consequences abound.

I just want to exonorate Quijybo for what he has written. I am myself a iranian that live in another country because of my muslim government. And the fact that iranians are tired not only by our own government but by Islam aswell is soooo true. Most persians are now atheists, I mean come on, what did god ever do for my country if not kill the people?

The persian people are extremely fed up with these Muslims dirtying our name and preventing us from progress. And I also believe that America should have attacked Iran instead of Iraq and now it's too late. There's no way they can justify a war with Iran, since no nuclear have been found in iraq the american government and their intelligence aren't trustworthy anymore. Not to mention Iran has two strong allies by it's side: China and Russia.

Nevertheless, Iranian people do not like America/Brittian, I do not believe that the people themselves would support an invasion of american forces. This is all because of the abuse we have faced from both america and brittian. The brittish "stole" our oil during a very long period and the american government overthrew the mosaddeq government and replaced it with the Shah. And not to forget the civil airplane US forces shot down (?mistakenly? and ?unintentionally?)that was on its way to Saudi Arabia.The scars have been healed but they are still there!

I must say I believe we persians are being a little excessive when it comes to "not forgiving" what america did. After studying more about my own country I've realised that the biggest reason why my country is such a poor and "retarded" country is because of it's ignorant and greedy leaders.

But afterall, when taking a look at this war with iraq I would not want anything similiar happen to my country. The American people are acting as if they already have taken over the country and the war is won but oh no please understand that you do not have control over iraq and if you invade persia, the escalated danger it would cause to the region would be devastating and not only for Perisans or Arabs but for Americans (in america) and american intrests aswell. Nevertheless you should not underestimate the Muslims (Arabs).

And just to make one thing clear:Iran is not an Arab country. We are not arabs we are iranians/persians! Although for now it is a Muslim country!

Fortunately, the US is firmly ensconced between Iran and Israel. In this case, a preemptive strike is not just prudent, it's imperative.

The U.S. does influence geopolitics..more or less but I think you give us credit for more power than we actually have. If we were that powerful we might not have as many problems as we have now.
Regarding the dislike the Iranian people have for islam and mullahs...but the Iranians also distrust the U.S. and Britain. Please excuse me but who do you think might help your people if we don't? As I see it the Arabs bring a certain cultural component to this slop bucket of islamic aggression but the difference between an Arab or an Iranian islamist is not worth noting in my book but for the record..ok you are not an Arab..duly noted. After noting the jubilance of the Iraqis shortly after the overthrow of the dictator Hussein and then watching the jubilance turn to resentment and then attacks on the liberators, I am not hopeful for the chances of democracy in an islamic country. The high oil price has made these smelly Ayatollahs more arrogant. Their nuclear weapons program has made them very arrogant. Are you on steroids or just in need of some tranquilizers? The US and the UK invaded Iraq with good reason. Along with his appalling human rights record at home, Saddam was a key contributor to terrorism and had been for decades from cultivating Palestinian terrorists like Abu Nidal to hosting terrorist conferences after Gulf War I with Osama in attendance. Saddam was also vulnerable, whereas the mullahs and ayatollahs of Iran are going to be much, much harder to depose.

And as much as Iran's mullahs and ayatollahs hate and detest the Sunnis who are waging jihad in Iraq, they are happy to help them for the time being, for the last thing the mullahs and ayatollahs want is a democratic, majority Shiite Iraq on their borders. As I recall, there were reports of much anti-mullah activitity in Iran shortly after the invasion and high hopes expressed by Iranian ex-pats in the US that there would be enough instability to unseat the hated clerics.

Maybe Iran needs to do some homework here, or at least realize that their Russian equipped military will be about as useful against American superiority as Saddam’s, who were a lot larger and better trained in force. - Iran should also realize that our Naval Fleets and Air Power is second to none, and they would lay waste to Iran’s oil shipments, and her cities in a matter of weeks, if not days.

Nukes Aside, the US is devoting less then one sixth of its available troops to the Iraqi campaign, and given license (most Americans already despise and mistrust Iran, and most still see Iran as the Mother of all Terrorism), they could increase those numbers very rapidly. – Not only would we command the skies in hours if not days, and bring to bear a force unlike any that those goat copulating mullahs ever dreamed of, but it would virtually stop any serious efforts by the Iranian Leaders to move or mobilize troops almost immediately.

The leaders of Iran should be more careful, Bush is NOT America, and America has appeared weak before, only to be pushed into proving that it is anything but, which would then force Iran to put it’s money where it’s mouth is, or lose what little economy they have, much less any control over their own people very quickly. – They have no concept of the consequences the American public would demand upon them should they do anything to endanger our soldiers in Iraq. - Unlike faceless insurgents, with no open national sponsorship, Iran is a Nation, and ANY Nation attacking American forces or Interests is considered an Act of War, which gives any President the right, with the approval of congress, to openly declare war on that Nation, which is not something that has happened since WWII.

Now that Saddam is gone, the Iranians are the new masters of hot air, and even with all their visions of Grandeur, they are still very far from being a worldwide scale military power. – All they are accomplishing with their tantrums and bully threats is to prove President Bush right, which is exactly why they must NEVER be allowed to posses Nukes, even if WE have to Nuke them to stop it. – Better a limited Nuclear strike on Iran’s key facilities, then to chance a possible loss of millions of innocent lives in neighboring countries. – And, anyone who doubts these basket cases would bully and use any Nukes they possessed to terrorize, or destroy other nations, needs to take a sobriety pill, or wake up.
