BAGHDAD -- The president of the Iraqi Red Crescent has urged the International Committee of the Red Cross to stop sending aid marked with red crosses after the internationally protected symbol almost cost four staffers their lives...."They were seized by a terrorist group who threatened to behead them because they thought the crosses on the water and food containers meant the men were Christian missionaries," said Mr. Hakki, who made his plea during a visit last week to ICRC headquarters in Geneva.
He said the terrorists seemed unmoved by the fact that the two trucks themselves were marked with the red crescent symbol typically used in Muslim countries.
In Geneva, an ICRC spokeswoman said the red cross and red crescent are not religious symbols and that international treaties require that both must be respected everywhere.
"Either symbol should be acceptable in either [a Muslim or Christian] country. ... In Indonesia, the world's largest Muslim country, they use the Red Cross," said Antonella Notari, an ICRC spokeswoman. "People and vehicles bearing these symbols cannot be attacked in any circumstances."
There is a simple solution. No aid. Last I looked, Saudi Arabia was raking in $80 billion more, beyond what it did last year. How much aid is Saudi Arabia giving to Iraq? To Egypt? To the poor of Yemen? To the poor Muslims in Darfur? To the self-maddened and primitivized "Palestinians"? To those fellow Muslims in Kashmir? How much, exactly -- not what they may "promise" initially so as to look acceptable, but what they actually deliver?
Anything?
The American government should have all its spotlights on Saudi greed, Saudi mendacity, and Saudi indifference to the wellbeing -- except for its Wahhabi Outreach -- of fellow Muslims. As for Saudi solicitousness for Infidels as belong to that entirely non-Muslim concept, one's "fellow man" (try explainiing that idea in Dar al-Islam), whatever his belief or lack of one, don't bother to ask.
These people get no awards for intelligence. Armed, unstable and stupid. Since Islam is a large cause of this stupidity, Islam is not likely to raise them out of it.
Hugh - Right on! The madness of paying the Jizya by the American taxpayer must stop. The American taxpayer should not be expected to pay outrageous amounts to support these people. Wealthy Muslims, especially petrobillionaires should create jobs and industries, health care systems, build infrastructure, and provide aid to victims of natural and manmade disasters instead of spending their billions on maintaining an idle and parasitic lifestyle and the funding of world Jihad and Da'wa.
When was the last time anyone saw a red cresent vehicle or aid worker helping a non muslim? Hint.... It does not happen.
So why are we suppossed to continue to help those that would rather kill us then help us in a similar case?
I for one no longer donate to any agency that will not allow me to specify where it is to be used! After 9/11 I no longer will willingly give my donations to finance this killer creed of islam and it's followers.

As far as I am concerned, 1983 was a very bad year. The League should never have changed its name. Every time I see the crescent beside the cross I feel like vomiting.

Sadly Hugh is right, they only understand this language.
My God shall they remove all plus signs and cross window frames as well and all trees as Christ was crucified on a tre and all fish as the fish was a sign of Christians. So how will they add if they cannnot use a plus sign how can they multiply without a cross? Are there no railwaycrosssings or crossways in the country. I wish they wouldnt be cross about all this.

Since we derive absolutely no benefit by aiding Muslims, our aid should be stopped immediately. They already accuse us of every imaginable calumny despite our aid. The mullahs in Indonesia have been spreading the rumor that a new US technology was used to trigger the tsunamis that killed so many Indonesians -- despite nearly $3 billion in aid, and countles life risking missions into enemy territory by US military to save Muslim children. In Nigeria and Kenya the Mullahs are accusing the West of developing a sterilization vaccine to prevent Muslims from procreating -- the truth about the clever prophylactic? Polio vaccine developed by the West, paid for by the West, administered by the West... So here we are, helping mortal enemies to survive and fight us another day -- what INSANITY...
Let's take them up on this latest Islamic tantrum/threat -- let's say "OK" to this demand by the pious Muslims -- it is the first I agree to acceding to one of their demands -- No more aid under the Red Cross ? OK -- no more aid...!
And just to be clear, no more contributions to the Red Cross to help tsunami victims -- or Pakistani earthquake victims --
Let their sh*it hole governments tend to their needs -- if the Earthquake is good for enrollment in Madrassas -- what care I? I would add No more Muslim immigration -- PERIOD --- kick em out if they're not down with America -- or Britain -- or Europe --
