Scott Atran has an editorial in the New York Post today in which he mentions the opinions of Bashir. In his article he classifies Bashir's ideas as a "radicallly new interpretation of Islam." Does Atran really believe this to be true? Even if one supposes the jihadist mentality as it exists today was developed in the mid-20th century in Egypt, this hardly constitutes a "radically new" idea.

If I'm to believe this spokesman, that this fight is against (in his own words) "The Bush Regime". This would mean that there has never been any terroist act against anyone untill Bush was elected as president, and that it will end after he is no longer president.

Last month I attended my annual training session that's required for maintaining my state prison security clearance. During the training session there was a presentation by three speakers representing the Roman Catholic, Protestant and Muslim faiths, who explained each of their belief systems.

But that is kind of the point, this same 7th century caravan raider also produced something simply called, "The Paper", which suggested a government in which all beliefs where accepted, law was determined for the good of all, etc. This is in complete contradiction to what the radicals *want* to be true, so it has never been included in the Koran, is almost unknown to Muslims and is ignored by those that do know of its origins in much the same way that Bush ignores statements by the founding fathers that proclaim that the senate's veto right of his Supreme Court appointees is **supposed** to prevent one idiot promoting people to the position that serve 'his' interests, instead of the interests of the nation, among other things American fundies pretend never happened. The story re Rick Mathes and his 'confrontation with an Imam', is apparently somewhat suspect. Try 'Rick Mathes' in google and check it out.

They come right out and state it in very simple terms what they're about, yet so many refuse to believe.

Robert Fisk, is one who refuses to believe, instead insisting he knows better than Bashir and OBL what their agenda is. He was interviewed on our ABC the other night, got all stroppy and indignant with the host. Dismissed OBL as boring, and dissed Bashir too. When the host talked about Bashir's words, Fisk said: "You keep quoting this guy like he's some kind of philosopher king. He's not." When Tony, the host replied, "But he is to the people who are blowing themselves up, that's the point,", Fisk retorted, "No, he's not". He then stated that these guys "have no serious backing or philosophical understanding of Islam themselves." LOL!

I have a lot of friends and they're parents are hardworking people who strive for the good in this world. And they are muslims (shocking huh?).

So there are a lot of people that claim they are muslims but don't know shit about ISLAM and that goes for christians as well.

Nevertheless all of these holy books have several diffrent ways of interpretations, some people interpret the words as Ali Sina others make up their own "imaginary view" of what they read, in a way that satisfies them. Therefore just cause one is a muslims doesn't mean that he/she is supporting these crazy people that also have ISLAM as their religion. Some actually strive for the good of this world and for the good of people.

Now some might claim that these people don't know the truth about ISLAM and that may be true, Nevertheless it doesn't automatically make them a bad person (they're just not fully educated)...therefore we have Normal and good muslims too.
