Jihad attacks in Russia leave 108 dead

Michelle Malkin points out that most news stories ignore or gloss over the fact that this was an Islamic jihad attack. This one at least notes that this time in Chechnya it was "Islamic," instead of the usual "Methodist," militants. "Militant Attacks on Russian City Leave 108 Dead," from the LA Times, with thanks to all who sent this in:

MOSCOW -- Authorities said today that 108 people have been killed in Russia's North Caucasus region as Islamic militants have staged coordinated attacks on police and government buildings in a new wave of violence spilling over from war-torn Chechnya.

At least 24 law enforcers, 12 civilians and 65 guerrillas have died in the two days of fighting in Nalchik, capital of the predominantly Muslim republic of Kabardino-Balkaria, authorities said. Seven more guerrillas were reported killed in an outlying district and 17 were captured.

Seattle Times ran the Holly story in morning paper
hard copy..in the title was, "..Islamic Gunmen"
and first line of story was "..Islamic gunmen staged..etc..."

BUT, when you go to online version of Sea Times
you find the Holly story GONE and replaced by one
from the AP..Friday, October 14, 2005 - Page updated at 08:14 a.m... The AP story has the more acceptable (to local muslim whiner association..no doubt)"..suspected Islamic militants.."..no surprise from the town that brought you muslim womens swim night..replete with blacked out windows for privacy..bleh!!

The Associated Press

NALCHIK, Russia – Russian security forces in an armored personnel carrier smashed through the wall of a store to rescue two hostages held by suspected Islamic militants today as authorities tried to clear out the last pockets of rebel resistance after more than a day of fighting that killed at least 108 people.

When the press, talking heads, and our elected officials begin referring to the perpetrators of these events as Muslims, we'll be getting somewhere.

Muslim fundamentalists, not Islamic extremists
Muslim fundamentalists, not Islamic terrorists
Muslim fundamentalists, not Islamic radicals
Muslim fundamentalists, not Chechen rebels
Muslim fundamentalists, not Thai insurgents

etc.

P.S. I called the operators of Seattle's "Sharia Swim Time". More clueless loonies with access to United Way and taxpayer funds.

I've been following reports in the Russian press and while there's still a lot of unclear and contradiction information it looks like this time the terrorists' plan failed and Russian forces managed to kill or arrest most of the attackers.

It should be noted, that most of the population of Kabardino-Balkaria are muslims but they haven't joined forces with their Chechens brothers. That's why they and other muslims in the region (in Dagestan, Ingushetia, etc.), have been repeatedly attacked by Islamic terrorists and militants who want to destabilize the whole region and recreate Caucasian khalifate of old, before the region was conquered by the Russian Empire in the 19 century (just as with Algiers, the main reason of taking over was the Chechen trade of raiding Russian and Georgian merchant caravans).

Even 'Islamic militant' sidesteps the issue of whether militancy is intrinsic to Islam or a 'fringe'. And the press can't even use this watered-down word!

Based on the figures, it looks like the kafirs won this one.

Benjamin

..part of the point is the use of the rarely used
islamic "GUNMEN" in original story..it's a subtle difference but a "gunman" hasn't quite the legitimacy of an islamic "militant".

"Based on the figures, it looks like the kafirs won this one."

Figure by itself don't mean anything. You have to look at larger picture. Their goal was to capture key objects in the town (police posts, hospitals, schools, stores, etc.). They failed and most were either killed or captured. There're some casualties among troops, policemen and civilians - but much fewer than you'd expect with 300 militants in town. In fact, it seems to be the least successful terrorist/militant operation in the region since the start of the Chechen conflict.

Webster's

militant 1.(adj) vigourously active, aggressive, or combative.; a militant group of reformers,e.g.

gunman 1. a man armed with or expert in the use of a gun, esp. one ready to use a gun unlawfully for hire.

..all gunmen(killers) are militants but not all militants are gunmen,,

also I see what has happened..the Seattle times ran the original Holly story from los Angeles times.. the version Robert has linked above has changed the opening sentence..the original was..
"ISlamic GUNMEN staged..."

so it's the LA Times that got smacked down by CAIR or some other bunch..Seattle Times then followed..

..here's the story from LA Times that Seattle Times ran(different from Roberts link..but in hard copy morning paper version "Islamic militants" was originally "Islamic gunmen"..

MOSCOW — Islamic militants staged coordinated attacks on police and government buildings in Russia's North Caucasus region Thursday in a new wave of violence spilling over from war-torn Chechnya that killed more than 90 people.

http://www.latimes.com/news/nationworld/world/la-fg-shootout14oct14,1,6436686.story?coll=la-headlines-world&ctrack=1&cset=true

..promise not to belabor this further..but it reeks of dhimminess..

final word..apology to Sea Times..original story
wording still available online..LA Times only changed to militants from gunmen..

Stupid puking semantics. Next it won't be "decapitation" or "beheading" but "surgical procedure." CAIR is thumping the media with their legal mallet, and the editors are scattering like cats on fire.

Every time I read about "Rebels", "Insurgents", "Terrorists", etc., I know the Liberal MSM is really talking about Muslims.

Came across a Russian site “Orthodox Russia”
An open letter, signed by 15,000 people shows that there is a limit to a human intelligence but stupidity is unlimited.
In view that jihad is very active in Russia and remembering horrors of Bezlan and the latest development one quotation from that letter is especially surprising:
“ Jewish organizations should stop lobbying Russia to support Israel… Such lobbying is particularly dangerous as it is trying to redirect Russian foreign policy to support US and Israel in their aggression against some Islamic countries. Putting Russia against the world of Islam will result in a weaker positions of Russia and the Muslim world to the advantage of US-Israeli interests”
The letter is lengthy and virulently anti-semitic. It is signed among others by the orthodox priests, who obviously do not find it contradictory to the Christian doctrine.
The site is blessed by Ioan - Mitropolit of St. Petersbourg.

Pong, doesn't this prove that the only qualification needed to be an orthodox priest in Russia is the intellect of a house brick, and of course the Russians are going out of their way to show us all that they've got the I.Q. of a watermelon.
