Memo: NYC Attack Was Scheduled for Sunday

The latest on the possible NYC subway jihad from AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

NEW YORK - Details emerged about an alleged plot to attack the city's subways with bombs hidden in bags and possibly baby strollers as local and federal officials jostled over the credibility of the threat.

A Department of Homeland Security memo obtained by The Associated Press said the attack was reportedly scheduled to take place on or around Sunday, with terrorists using timed or remote-controlled explosives hidden in briefcases, suitcases or in or under strollers.

The memo said that the department had received information indicating the attack might be carried out by "a team of terrorist operatives, some of whom may travel or who may be in the New York City area."

The memo, issued Wednesday to state and local officials, said that homeland security and FBI agents doubted the credibility of the information, but it provided four pages of advice about averting a possible attack.

The group, I forget their name, that was burning US flags in NYC recently comes to mind as possible suspects. They were Muslims from elsewhere and claimed the law gave them the right to burn flags and say anything. Perhaps the FBI is looking at them more closely now?

From the site above...
"More than 5 million Muslims have been killed / displaced in Palestine since 1948"
*Oh, come on*

Happy Rama-hama-ding-dong.....

My sentiments exactly.

No matter that "homeland security and FBI agents doubted the credibility of the information," my Mayor Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Kelly did the right thing in publicizing, to the degree they could, information out to the general public concerning this threat. This is now our norm in this war: Threats of terror acts backed up by the reality that such terror acts have recently occurred all over the world. Our quiet enjoyment of the planet has been compromised. But, please, no more lawyers vis-a-vis Clinton's declaring terror a legal/police matter. Give me President Bush's robust use of our military any day. Lawyers' torts just can't stop bombers determined to hit the trains of a system travelled by hundreds of thousands of passengers a day.

Why would they plan an attack on a Sunday? The least busiest travel day? Why not rush hour on a weekday?
