So, here we are: part of the Muslim community is in the thrall of a totalitarian ideology which turns young Muslims into human bombs. Photos of Muslim and non Muslim civilian body parts flying in the middle of markets, mosques, discos and hotels have become routine. Beheadings of Christian and Jewish men and women are no longer surprising. And what do the ever-silent and passive-defensive Muslim countries, Organization of Islamic Conference and the Arab League vociferously condemn? They are condemning the publication of cartoons featuring Muhammad in a Danish paper. The absurdity of this action is only matched by its hypocrisy.

This is a valid argument - the silence from muslim quarters on freedom and human rights for any other than muslims - and sometimes not even them - is deafening.

I hope that Dr. Klinghoffer has tenure at Rutgers. This piece is excellent but very politically incorrect. The majority of Muslims seem to relish in a) being victims, b) silent witnesses giving tacit consent to violence in the name of their religion, or c) enflamed, enraged participants in violent acts. There is a real shortage of Muslims, the world over, who are self-critical, thoughtful and willing to speak out in dissent of Islam and its many disturbing trends and practices.

A thunderous silence is their answer. My elders taught us that silence is tacit approval. Some Muslims, however, may not be able to speak for fear of peer pressure applied as violence, intimidation, or shunning. Others don't know any better. Some are malicious, violent, and barbaric, and all are mis-led and misinformed.
Muslims are first rate hypocrites and liars; they do not ever comment on all the terrorist acts their people commit; there have been over 3000 terror acts committed by Muslims since 9/11. Have we heard any comments from any Muslim leader - No.
But get a false report of a quoran being flushed and the whole Muslim Umma goes on the rampage, killing, looting, burning etc. Muslims are worse than animals as animals rarely kill their own.
They are so brain damaged that they cannot think out of the box; cannot discern between right and wrong. They are all programmed with the hateful ideology by their founder prophet Mohamed.

While this may be true -- I no longer have the patience or sympathy to try and make a distinction... There has been far too little Muslim participation with routing the terroristic tendencies of their 'religion.' Proof of this is the world wide escalation of Islamic violence and death --
I think the opportunity for the elusive "moderates" to show their stripes has come and is nearly gone.... Even the most entrenched nut jobs in the West can no longer pretend there isn't something DEEPLY wrong with Islam when they see outbursts like those in Paris for the last 10 days --
I for one am hopeful that the mythological pious Muslim "moderate" along with his more visible hate spewing brethren begin to know how the West reacts when it's time to take out the trash... We bag it and toss it...
