Tensions remain high in southern Russia

More violence has been reported in the town of Nalchik, which is still trying to recover from Thursday’s massive terrorist raid, according to the AP:

NALCHIK, Russia -- Shooting broke out Tuesday morning in the southern Russian city of Nalchik, as police and security forces said they were launching special operations to detain suspected militants.

Alleged Islamic extremists conducted a coordinated series of attacks on police and other government buildings in the city on Thursday, and some 137 people were killed in the fighting, according to official data. Local television urged residents of the city not to leave their homes if possible Tuesday, and the local schools administration advised parents to take their children home from schools and nursery schools.

Shooting was heard in the suburb of Dubki, where the city's main morgue is and where security forces were conducting a sweep for suspected rebels, residents said. Gunfire also broke out in the town's center and its southwestern edge.

The Interfax news agency reported that police killed a man early Tuesday when he allegedly put up resistance during a document check. Two other men who resisted managed to escape, Interfax said.

Also, two excellent recent analyses from Masha Lipman and Paul Quinn-Judge suggest that the Nalchik attack is just the beginning.

We thought 0-11 was "just the beginning"...

The latter post should have read: We thought 9-11 was "just the beginning"...

Please excuse.

Islamic Jihad is losing their lazyness, now it begins to be a nightmare.

Now, now, let's not do anything rash. Remember "appeasement" and "negotiation"; after all, jihadists are just like the rest of us and have feelings too.

Boo hoo hoo.

Now if we just give them nukes, surely they will be reasonable -- won't they?

If any of this corresponds to any kind of "reasoning" currently in the Kremlin -- then I think its fair to say that Ivan will soon have his hind quarters pointing skyward at least five times a day in the not too distant future.

We can more or less expect this kind of "thought process" out of London or Washington, but Moscow?

Hopefully, they are not that stupid -- yet. Hopefully, the Kremlin will take the SOB's out before the school year ends.

In the last 15 years Russia has lost an empire, abandoned Serbia, lost the afghan war, central asia is islamising at a rate of versts, they suffered an inhuman level of terrorism and all they have to show for it are couple of dubious looking cheques drawn from the Teheran Central Bank.

The Russian army is made up of conscripts who weren't lucky enough to have family connections but were lucky to survive basic training better known as "dedushina", an Abu Graish type ritual but where lives are really lost.

The one hope in all of this is that I hear that the birth rate has perked up. And Tatu have got their second album out

Nas ne dogonyat @;o)

Notice how the MSM spins the story: "Alleged Islamic extremists ", "suspected militants", and "suspected rebels". It seems they are afraid to use the words "Muslim" and "terrorists" in the same sentence, yet terrorism is being spread more by Islam than any other religion in the world.

What is happening in Russia - soon to be comming to a "London" near you!

Both articles seem to suggest surrender is Putin's best option. While I'm no fan of Putin's ongoing transformation into a new Czar, the same media spin on what has become a global jihad is tiresome.

I'm still waiting for one mainstream media analysis which puts some blame squarely on Islamic theology where it belongs. Why is is so simple to turn seemingly ordinary Muslims into paramilitary shahids?

/preaching to choir over

The muslims lose again...death toll from attack...35 security officers, 9 civilians and 92 terrorists. Allah has to build ninty two more rooms in paradise...dead jihadists arrive every day.
The chief terrorist Basayev was reported dead with this headline:
"Russia’s Most-Wanted Terrorist Basayev Killed — Paper", which was replaced with this one when he began to talk:
"Chechen Warlord Basayev Says Nalchik Raid Failed Due to Information Leak."
So it is possible for dead muslims to talk...anything is possible with Allah.
The dead muslim also says more attacks are comming and schools are not immune.
The main problem with Basayev is that he is not quite dead enough. I'm sure if the Russian security forces catch up with him, they will help him out with that problem...
