Race equality rules are being reviewed at Dudley Council after workers were told to remove toy pigs from desks because they offended a Muslim staff member.Council leaders say they will not accept "extreme forms of political correctness". Last month the Express & Star revealed how staff in the council's benefits department were told to remove a series of toy pigs sent as a promotion, as well as pig imagery, from their desks.
It came after a complaint from a Muslim worker who said she was offended by the items - the Koran forbids Muslims from eating and touching pork.
Councillor Pat Martin told a full council meeting: "I fully support the actions by management to respond to the concerns from colleagues following established and approved procedures.
"However I'm satisfied these procedures need to be reconsidered to make them compatible with the current law on what's deemed to be offensive in the workplace. Therefore I've ordered an urgent review of the procedures.
"In Dudley we rightly pride ourselves on being fair and reasonable employers but we will not accept extreme forms of political correctness."
After the meeting she said only the benefits department was affected by the request but admitted the policy was "very strict" and that officials would look if they were "too aggressive"....
When the decision was taken, the council's head of finance Mike Williams said it "did not matter why it was considered offensive".
He acknowledged then that some members of the department saw it as "political correctness gone barmy".
I don't know. I tend to side with the offendee in this case. When I'm dieting and I happen upon an individual with chocolate cake on their desk, I'm overcome with thoughts of food Jihad -- how can I distract them from it and how can it become mine. This is terribly offensive. If there's no way to get it I might have to non chalantly swipe my arm across their desk and send it hurtling to the ground. Infidels eating in front of me....how dare they?
This also applies to people with ugly feet wearing open toed sandals. This will sometimes cause my gorge to rise when I see dirty, ragged toenails or scaley dried up heels. I've on occasion tripped and fallen due to preoccupation with these dastardly feet whose owners dare to reveal to the innocent public. This is very dangerous and a liability. This really offends me! Something ought to be done. A new law maybe...
Kaffirs, and Jews and Pigs, oh My!
We must accept at face value what Muslims say about these things, and believe them when they say they are deeply offended by them. Now some questions occur to me:
What are Muslims doing in lands where they find the people, the customs, the religion, the politics, the artwork, the humore, the culture and just about everything else so deeply offensive?
What is their answer to the question "Why did you come to such a land...?"

Do not touch or eat anything that you may find on MY desk.
Good points, Mackie -- In fact your comments make me wrack my brain -- I have known many Hindus in my life, and know that MANY reside in America... Yet I cannot remember a single event where a Hindu was seen 'objecting' to McDonalds, or coming on the TV to denounce American beef consumption because he thought it to be "offensive..." or protesting or threatening the Beef Council -- After all, if taken literally, WE ARE EATING VAST QUANTITIES of their Godhead, for heaven's sake -- Yet MILLIONS of Hindus live pacifically in America, accept our customs, adapt to our culture while retaining those aspects of theirs which they cherish, and they are, by and large, completely welcome here.
The Muslims on the other hand never cease complaining, accusing, agitating, slandering, and altogether spewing their opionions about how wrong we are, how right they are, and threatening us if we don't change our ways -- interesting....
Also, can you imagine how I would be excoriated in ANY region on Earth if I were to show up as a white American, announce that this or that local custom "offended" me, and in the interest of showing me proper respect in inclusiveness, demanding that the locals stop this or that custom, or removed this or that from their store -- In more moderate regions I would be laughed out of town for my arrogance and affrontery -- In a Muslim region, I am certain I would be lynched, or at the very least be separated from my various body parts (to which I am particularly attached...)
Anyway, when seen in the reverse, the revolting and unacceptable arrogance of the likes of Ibrahim Hooper, or the Muslim "co" worker referenced above becomes clear. They have no right to make such demands, they trample on the real notion of tolerance when the make such truculant demands. Muslims should be slapped down harshly when they transgress against us so beligerantly, or told to get the hell out... It is foolish in the extreme to do anything to encourage them to stay, unless they are willing to adapt and integrate with OUR culture... Anything else if foolish and DANGEROUS...

That is fine only in the short term. In the long term it is the demographic growth rate that counts. So integrate or not, what happens in the long term that is important.

Read it all. It is a clear statement of intent. As I've maintained for a long time, there is no alternative but separation from islam and muslims. If this is not done soon, it will to lead to a civil war in Europe and the US that will make WWII look benign by comparison. Separation is the only humane way forward. It is sad that it has come to this.
Does any non-Muslim know how to not offend a faithful Muslim? I am convinced that faithful Muslims take life WAY too seriously and are no fun to be around. Toy pigs are hardly the kind of stuff that leads a Muslim into sin.
I am certainly not going to tip toe around Muslim annoyances. There are far too many of them. Muslims are the most sensitive and touchy religious people on the face of the earth. I am glad that the Dudley Council decided that the pig "watch dogs" in the British Muslim community should not tell the British people how to live their lives and portray their pigs. Offended Muslims are no fun to be around and neither are the spies employed by Nu Labour to eliminate all "wrong" kind of thinking. They usually occupy posts that have names like "diversity and cultural awareness officer" and are the enforcers of such ludicrous actions as banning pigs. They are, of course, the natural heirs of the "Loony Left" of the seventies and eighties. There are an awful lot of uptight people around now who get offended over everything. We should just laugh in their faces and they would go away.

My local supermarket has one young Muslim (who looks like he might be related to a noted Algerian Terrorist) working at the check out counter, this boy in his embroidered Kufi must in the course of business touch many a package of bacon, bologna, salami and meat that are "gasp" pork.
I don't think that these people complain, if they did, they wouldn't have a job, as I don't think AM PM or the supermarket chain is going to take pork products off their shelves.
