Arrests, injuries as unrest continues across Belgium

From Expatica, with thanks to Jeffrey Imm:

BRUSSELS — In the third successive night of unrest in Belgium, vandals torched cars, trucks and cellars in Antwerp, Brussels and Ghent on Tuesday, while two suspected arsonists were arrested after they were admitted to hospital for burns injuries. Belgian police suspect agitators are committing copy-cat acts to the arson attacks witnessed during heavy rioting in France in the past two weeks.

However, a spokesman for the federal government's crisis centre said each case was an "isolated" incident and that there were no large gathering of youths. The crisis centre also said there were no clashes with police.

Despite the assurances, Ghent police are taking the attacks very seriously, but also warned against overreacting: "This does not make a Paris of Ghent".

What's the population of "youths" in Belgium? How many "youths" are there in each of the central European countries? These are important statistics for the defense of Europe against the specter of "youths". Bat Ye'or should have titled her book Youthrope.

France, Belgium, Sweden, Germany...

If I was a tactician for the Muslims, I would describe these flare-ups as test cases. They are testing the resolve of the West.

What would I have learned from this? That the West still sees Islam as a valid religion instead of expansionist Arab nationalism. That any insurrection or rioting will be met with more money, programs, understanding, etc. That the West is afraid and knows that Islam can turn absolutely ruthless when necessary, threatened, or even if it perceives a threat.

If I was a Muslim, I'd be overjoyed at the reaction of Western governments. They are going to lie down and surrender; gradually at first, but the victory over the infidel will be much simpler and much less bloody than it was in the time of the "Prophet".

Yes, it's lovely here in Brussels. In the centre on Monday night a friend was attacked and robbed by what are jovially termed "Southern Europeans". He reported it to the "police" who told him they were too busy to deal with it; and where it happened was about 50 metres from the central Brussels police station. The police do as little as possible about the attacks, the muggings, the robberies, the murders and attempted murders. In the centre, about 150 metres from the Grande Place, they will not patrol on foot at night because it's too dangerous for them. They prefer to hear nothing, see nothing and do nothing. Some Brussels communes like Molenbeek are almost totally arab-controlled; in effect no-go areas. It goes mostly unreported lest peope are accused of racism. For a woman like me, it's frightening and the arabs call you "putain" (whore) if you dont respond to their overtures. Belgium is blind to its inevitabe fate.

I have a very hard time understanding how the media who buy into the, "their just responding to their social conditions" rationale reconcile this with the "no-go zones", the social climate of which probably differ little from their countries of origin.

Samantha,
How easy is it to acquire firearms in Belgium?

Barring that, you'll need to work to change the
situation there politically. Frankly, considering
the absurd Belgian propensity to do things like
charge Ariel Sharon with war crimes, I'd say that,
like France and Sweden, it doesn't look good for
Belgium. Too bad, I visited a long time ago, but I
don't think I'd like to go back now!

Hello, American! It has become more difficult to get a gun: the law, especialy over handguns was tightened about a year or so ago. Personally, I carry pepper spray, which is illegal everywhere in Europe except France, where I buy it. At the moment, I would not carry a handgun because it's not quite my thing but is becoming more of an option daily; getting one in France, as a european woman, would not be impossible and I had an offer about a year ago. I cannot understand why the French community simply runs away from all this; at least the Flemish parts such as Antwerp are less forgiving. Brussels will not stand up for itself, that is axiomatic.

Hi Samantha,
Too bad. If you can still get hunting licenses,
get a 20 gauge shotgun. If you are already proficient, I'd suggest a 12, but ladies are a
bit more petit and a 20 is plenty. Practice too!

I mainly visited the Flemish part of Belgium,
I was trying to practice a bit of Dutch and the
Flemish were more accomodating than the Dutch about
my attempts. The Dutch were perfectly polite of course, but preferred to speak English except in
some of the more rural parts of the Netherlands.

I think the Flemish are more conservative (or
"traditional" if you wish) and so maybe are less likely to roll over.

Good luck. I'm sorry for the way things are going, as it is unfair that you must suffer because
these scum were allowed into your country.

Belgian don´t want to see the problem, disturbing!

Such a lovely place to visit "Europe". With our blinders firmly in place it really is disturbing this current state of affairs.
The term youths....lmao
The "youths" who hijacked planes and flew them into various buildings were just troubled youths too.
We should really try to be more understanding of the "values" of our Muslim brothers. We are not so different after all. I formally tender my apologies to the Muslims for the western cold shoulder that has been given to your plight.
IE: Getting rid of Saddam, Afghanistan, aid to Indonesia, Aid to Pakistan- Kashmir.... but you
Muslims seem to lack appreciation for the help... Please modify your behavior or I might have to get angry... and you know what that meeans... Yes! I will officially stop making donations to CAIR ...I mean it be nice now... I'm not kidding.
God we are so stupid... I am going out this weekend and buying as many guns as I can. I pitty the fool who gets to close to my car...

They call you a whore if you don't have sex with the?! Oh wait, I forgot that all infidel women are Allah given gifts for men to use at their leisure, silly me.

Samatha,

We in America stand with you and offer you solidarity!

Fight! ... Fight!.... fight!...

Wake your country up!

Tell the truth about Islam.

Form self defense groups.

Join the Police and give them backbone.

But above all vote the weak politicians out.

Please keep us informed, the Jihadwatch community cares about you and Belgian.

together all around the globe we are all fighting the Islamic Jihad

Samantha,

I live in Brussels too. If you need any assistance, please write to me.

My mother and girlfriend had to endure the same "overtures". Western people should start lobbying together. Politicians keep talking about terrorism but what western women endure in the real life is a total lack of respect from these "young muslims".

There is strictly no way for them to be heard by the authority, All this "small" offenses aren't prosecuted. Be named "putain" (whore) each day, ruin your life, make you think twice before going out. They are transforming our city into a Arab wannabee macho parade.

I'm tired of it and I'm ready to unite with other people with similar concerns.

We won't let them treat western women as they treat their own ones. There is a basic sense of politeness that they must learn or face the consequence (fines, jail, reeducation or whatever)

Olivier

Isn't it funny how they will kill their sister for dishonoring the family but chase western women down the street with their filthy lust..... aaaak what a disgusting way to live...
