Brooklyn man confesses to Al-Qaeda chemical plot

More U.S. jihad plot news. "B'klyn Man Confessed to Plot: Feds," from the New York Post:

November 10, 2005 -- A Pakistani man living in Brooklyn confessed in "chilling detail" how he tried to sneak an al Qaeda operative into the U.S. to carry out a deadly chemical attack, a prosecutor charged in opening statements yesterday.

Jurors in Manhattan federal court heard how Uzair Paracha, 25, allegedly agreed to further the terror plot during a series of meetings in Pakistan attended by two al Qaeda members and his father, a businessman now held prisoner at Guantanamo Bay.

"This trial is about the defendant's role in helping al Qaeda penetrate this country and attack the United States from within its own borders," said Assistant U.S. Attorney Eric Bruce....

After his arrest in March 2003, Paracha confessed to helping al Qaeda operative Majid Khan in a scheme to obtain U.S. travel documents "knowing full well that he was plotting a terrorist attack," Bruce said.

Ten points for who ever guesses what religion Uzair Paracha follows??

KT - "He's a Southern Baptist!"

IA - "No he's actually an undercover Nun!"

This is the kind of thing that happens when you forget to wash Satan out of your nostrils in the morning. The devil made him do it.

This does not come as a surprised. Here in Jackson Heights, The Islamic Thinkers Society (a al-queda offshoot) are still operating and recruiting. Even though they are not has blatent in their efforts, where they set up a table with loudspeker, since the London bombings. They are still out here on the weekend. Now they are mixing in with the crowds, passing out lititure and doing one on one talks with the people. Be prepared for them to do something this holiday season, according to the talk around here.

Live from Queenstan.

If only they could have killed, blinded, or burned the lungs of a few hundred New Yorkers, the Caliphate would have been within their grasp!

Lists of terror attacks are available. There should be another kind of list: a list of all those attacks that were foiled, at whatever stage, that should be listed, and kept constantly in mind. Many people learn only from an actual attack; they should learn as well by exercising their imagination, and think clearly about all those attacks that did not, but would except for Western security services, have taken place.

One example. In 1999 or 2000, a plot to blow up the Christmas Market in Strasbourg was foiled. No blowing up, no casualties. The French, and others, take passing note of a passing story. But what should be recalled, again and again, that it was not for want of trying that the Christmas Market was blown up, in pro-Arab and pro-Muslim France, long before there was a single American soldier in Iraq. And there are so many other such foiled attacks -- possibly someone who visits this site, possibly some intelligent student who wishes to write a paper on "The Attacks That Weren't -- But Might Have Been" or "The Desire to Deny: How Western Publics Refuse to Believe" or...well, I'm throwing out the titles in the hopes that somewhere someone with energy will take the time to compile a list, from all Western countries, of the attacks or plots or schemes that did not succeed. People are remarkably short-sighted, remarkably limited: if an attack is not fresh in their memory, they tend to assume everything is getting better, the threat has been exaggerated, and so on.

This frustrates. They should pay careful attention not only to those whose attacks were successful -- but to all those attacks that are planned, or discussed, or threatened, or dreamed of, throughout the Bilad al-kufr.

And then, of course, they should do one other important thing. To reallize that "terror" itself is not the only or most important weapon of Jihad, and it might be that the most calculating of those spreading the Jihad will insist that as a weapon it be sheathed, for at least another decade or two, so that the vigilance of the Infidels wanes, and Da'wa targetted to the vulnerable (beginning with those who are literally a captive audience -- prisoners, and extending to the young, the naive, the hopeless, those who harbor resentments for their state, those who are psychically marginal and are Looking For A Total System, as so many apparently are. Indeed, you don't have to be John Walker Lindh to be among those psychically marginal. It may be enough just to be un homme moyen sensuel, such as Frank "Help Me I'm a Muslim" Gardner, the BBC correspondent who, now unable to walk because of an attack by Muslims on him as an Infidel, recently revealed how he had long ago almost become a Muslim precisely because it offered a Total Regulation of Life, and he found that soothing.

In our government some high up continue to insist that "everyone wants freedom." Many of these people have no broad or deep idea of what constitutes mental or other kinds of "freedom"; many are in thrall to their own ideologies -- for example, that the Free Market and Free Trade are both a Good Thing, deserve to be unhindered, and will lead to wonderful things -- that is, the most stuff at the cheapest price, sold in the largest stores, and that will be Our Happiness. With people thinking at that level, no wonder there is less loyalty, for all the hoo-ha, to the idea of preserving a particular society, way of life, set of understandings. Or that repetition of slogans about how "all people love freedom" should be a substitute for thought.

Perhaps the same people should consider another view: that many people, everywhere, do not want to exercise their own freedom, except in the narrowest way, but relish their own Obedience to Authority, Being Told What to Do at every step, and being immersed, or submerged, in a Community. Those on a vague Spiritual Search, or those recruited to a new kind of army, may find it all so very exhilarating. Some will learn more about whatever ideology they signed up for, and drop out, or fail to re-enlist. Others will not.

"it might be that the most calculating of those spreading the Jihad will insist that as a weapon it be sheathed, for at least another decade or two, so that the vigilance of the Infidels wanes"

If the clever Dawaists have any brains at all, they will have already realized that, far from hurting the spread of Islam by Dawa, terrorist attacks have actually been facilitating the Western gullibility, naivety, and "respect" for Muslim "sensibilities", as well as facilitating the ostracism of fellow Western "Islamophobes", "racists" and "haters".

With each new terror attack, our dominant PC culture only gets more PC, more dominant.

Of course, this paradoxical and infuriating effect would not work if the attacks became too large, too clustered, too horrific. If the clever Dawaists are doing anything, they have been making sure to keep the attacks under a certain threshhold -- not insisting that they be sheathed altogether.

Dr. Pepper:

The Dawaists, being ideologically predisposed to believe any successes they enjoy are but evidence of Allah's will, suffer no self-doubt. (Oddly, they don't record it as Allah's will when they lose.) And he capitulation-friendly "they-hate-us-because-we've-oppressed-them" crowd certainly fosters the Dawaists' congenital self-righteousness.

The defeat yesterday of T. Blair's bill to keep suspected terrorists in the can an extra 60 days only a few months after the 7/7 bombing and the foiled attempt a few weeks later shows there is no end to PC stupidity. So as for your theory that the Dawaists may exercise a degree of what A.S. Neill might have described as "self regulation" and keeping the violence down to an acceptable level for self-preservation purposes, I don't know. I suspect even they have a limited number of people willing to explode themselves. Ain't that been the complaint out of would-be jihaddists in Iraq... ...that they came to be mujahadeen, but not shahids?

We need to enact laws that will make treasonable activity against the United States and her allies punishable by death.

While we fiddle about Korans in Guantanamo and other such PC nonsense these bastards plan horrorific attacks.

Behemond_1069:

I believe treason is punishable by death although I'm not sure of the specific level of treason you have to reach to get the death penalty. Although I don't think we really use the death penalty very well. We usually just let them live out their days getting three hots and a cot (and cable TV) all the while they waste our tax money with appeal after appeal.
