Neil Doyle (thanks to Judy) has a video, just released by Al-Qaeda, that contains footage of Mohammad Siddique Khan, one of the July 7 London suicide bombers.
Khan says to British Muslims: "By staying at home, you have turned your backs on jihad."
This is the kind of religious appeal that I have pointed out many times, and to which moderate Muslims have not yet formulated any effective response. Telling Western non-Muslims that Islam teaches peace and, at most, warfare only for self-defense will not induce young Muslims like Mohammad Siddique Khan to lay down their arms.
When asked what is the most important thing in Islam, Mohammed said, "The hadj."
When asked what is the second most important thing in Islam, Mohammed said, "The jihad."
So, according to the "prophet", making the pilgrimage to Mecca is #1, but the second-most important thing is killing anyone who isn't Muslim.
This passes for a religion? More like a murder cult.

2. Those who stay back from the heat of battle will face the fire of hell. Those who go into the battle will receive the supreme triumph (Paradise).
9:81 Those who were left behind rejoiced at sitting still behind the messenger of Allah, and were averse to striving with their wealth and their lives in Allah's way. And they said: Go not forth in the heat! Say: The fire of hell is more intense of heat, if they but understood.
9:82 Then let them laugh a little: they will weep much, as the reward of what they used to earn.
9:83 If Allah bring thee back (from the campaign) unto a party of them and they ask of thee leave to go out (to fight), then say unto them: Ye shall never more go out with me nor fight with me against a foe. Ye were content with sitting still the first time. So sit still, with the useless.
9:84 And never (O Muhammad) pray for one of them who dieth, nor stand by his grave. Lo! they disbelieved in Allah and His messenger, and they died while they were evil-doers.
9:85 Let not their wealth nor their children please thee! Allah purposeth only to punish them thereby in the world, and that their souls shall pass away while they are disbelievers.
9:86 And when a surah is revealed (which saith): Believe in Allah and strive along with His messenger, the men of wealth among them still ask leave of thee and say: Suffer us to be with those who sit (at home).
9:87 They are content that they should be with the useless and their hearts are sealed, so that they apprehend not.
9:88 But the messenger and those who believe with him strive with their wealth and their lives. Such are they for whom are the good things. Such are they who are the successful.
9:89 Allah hath made ready for them Gardens underneath which rivers flow, wherein they will abide. That is the supreme triumph.
So now we HAVE to acommedate Islam even further by allowing unlimited access to our countries, because their religion demands that they come here and attack.
While Mohammad wasn't fond of those who stayed behind (also see 22:058, 16:110), I would be remiss if I did not add 9:122.
9:122 And the believers should not all go out to fight. Of every troop of them, a party only should go forth, that they (who are left behind) may gain sound knowledge in religion, and that they may warn their folk when they return to them, so that they may beware.
This makes good strategic sense from a military point of view, that some should stay behind. Nevertheless, for others, obviously, jihad was obligatory.

NEW DELHI: Delhi Police on Sunday officially announced arrest of Tariq Ahmed Dar (32), an alleged Lashkar-e-Taiba operative, marking the end of a gruelling investigation into the worst-ever terrorist attack in the Capital.
Announcing the "big find", a relieved city police chief, K K Paul, confirmed that the blast carried out by Dar, and his accomplices, Pakistan nationals, Abu Al Qama and Abu Huzefa, was indeed the handiwork of the LeT, nailing the lies of the notorious jehadi gang, and its sponsor, Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
He identified Dar, a sales representative with Johnson & Johnson, and the two Pakistanis, as the choreographers of the October 29 mayhem which claimed 70-odd lives.
Al Qama, who operates from Pakistan, is the chief of LeT operations in the Valley, while Hufeza is his subordinate.
The confirmation of Pakistan's hand is sure to cast a shadow on the peace process, which came under strain after the serial bombings in the Capital.
Just days before the blasts, Rs 4.86 lakh had been deposited to Tariq's HDFC Bank account in Srinagar from a Middle-East country. The money was meant for financing the blasts in which RDX, though not in its pure form, was used, Paul said.
The conspiracy and planning behind the serial blasts was efficiently conceived. In fact, Dar, familiar with the topography of Delhi, conducted a recce of the city in the first week of October itself to select the sites to place the explosives. The explosives contained the lethal RDX and were set off by sophisticated timers.
DOCTOR BOMB: He dealt in pharmaceuticals, and everybody called him Doctor Saheb. For those who have known him, it is difficult to believe that Tariq Dar was really dealing in death.
When I last met him in December 2002, he had just got engaged to be married. He was, like anybody his age, excited about his first love. He played the perfect host too, making me comfortable in no time. No wonder, his kin and friends in Srinagar are finding it tough to come to terms with the news of his alleged involvement in the gory October 29 serial blasts.
Now a father of a 12-month-old daughter, with his wife expecting another child in three months, Tariq never failed to offer namaz five times a day. But he never came across as a rigid hardliner. Usually dressed in formal shirts and trousers, he would often be spotted at the landmark Hotel Ahdoos, known for its Kashmiri cuisine. Being a foodie, he loved eating out. He recommended Goshtaba and Rista to me when we met last.
His elder brother Mohammed Ayub was shocked when told about the allegation after Delhi Police revealed Dar's role in the Delhi blasts.
When approached, Ayub was headed for the HDFC branch to check for himself Delhi Police' claim that Rs 4.86 lakh were deposited in Tariq's account from "somewhere in the Middle-East" just before the blasts.
The bafflement is shared by friends who never suspected Tariq, a good student at the Government Boys Higher Secondary School in Jawahar Nagar in Srinagar, could be collaborating with jehadis.

But to your other point, I don't know who is deceiving who in these situations. Are the boys decieving their families, or are the families trying to deceive the rest of us? One thing is for certain, there's a whole lot of deception going on.

it is my understanding that every shaheed must obtain permission from his mother to become a martyr for Islam.
That is sharia law.
So that explain the deception of the parents does it not.
There are more than one million shaheed volunteers in Iran. They do not consider themselves suicide bombers , the term suicide implies a selfish act for personal gain.
They consider it to be act of complete UNselfishness for the benefit of all muslims.
The return of modern shaheeds began in the Iraq Iranian war , where countless Iranians martyred themselves with explosive belts against the Iraqi forces.
It soon spread to the lebsanon through hesbollah and the bombongs of the American embassy and Israeli forces headquarters.
It was not till much later that the effectiveness of shaheed devastation was understood by the west, culminating in 911.
The spread of Shaheeds throughout western countries has followed the spread in Islamic countries from Iran. And there are obviously many hundreds of potential volunteers now living in europe.

Another example of why even "moderate" Muslims in our midst can not be trusted: sooner or later an extremist will come along and remind them that "real Muslims" do violence in the name of Jihad or some other form of Jihad, anything and everything possible to further the aims of Islam.
