It appears that a good number of the 10,000 Saudi Students bound for the United States will reside in Oregon. From The Oregonian:
Students from Saudi Arabia are enrolling at Oregon universities in numbers not seen since before Sept. 11, 2001. More than 80 total have begun fall classes at Portland State University, the University of Oregon and Oregon State University, and another 600 have been granted admission for winter term.The enrollment boom is playing out across the United States as Saudis take advantage of a sweeping new scholarship offer from the oil-rich Saudi government.
The kingdom is providing all-expenses-paid academic scholarships to 5,000 Saudis each year for the next five years for study abroad, said a spokesman for the Saudi Embassy in Washington, D.C. Many are choosing U.S. campuses, public and private, reversing a sharp decline in Saudis at American universities after terrorist attacks on New York City and Washington, D.C.
Arab news outlets reported the scholarship offer in June, two months after Saudi King Abdullah met with President Bush at his Crawford, Texas, ranch. In a joint statement released by the White House in April, Bush and Abdullah pledged to expand programs "to increase the number of young Saudi students to travel and study in the United States."
The purpose of the scholarships is to expose Saudis to different education systems and to build "people-to-people contact" with citizens of other countries, said Nail Al-Jubeir, a Saudi Embassy spokesman.

Sometime this morning, I was only paying half-attention, there was a report on
FOX News about the University of Oregon requiring that professors and students demonstrate some vaguely worded proficiency in multi-culturalism or else. Might the gift of the thousands of gifted Saudi students, with their out-of-state tuition fees and free-flowing cash, be a reward for the Oregon state university system? After all, you just can't get much more culturally diverse than the young adults who come from one of the most repressive regimes in the world.
The only thing that has worked in our favor so far is the Muslim notion that it's far better to lie, cheat, and steal to acquire wealth and achieve status. It is also better to accomplish these goals through as little exertion as possible. This entrenched Islamic sloth has done more to impede Islamic horrors and mayhem from being visited on we hapless foolish Westerners than any actions we have taken, or failed to take.
Something that must be done immediately: EXPELLING ALL ISLAMIC STUDENTS from the American academy instantly -- and not allowing any more of these Islamic enemies into our midst...!

Who will teach the teachers? Things were bad enough when all we had to worry about was policing the police. Now we have to worry about Trojan horses like this one...
They way I see it, this oil for education program brings us just that much closer to having mushroom clouds over U.S. cities.

State support for higher education in Oregon has dropped to near nothing. With the exhorbitant tuition levels, they are no longer able to attract Californians in great numbers, so this looks like easy money to the powers that be. As Mr. Fitzgerald has frequently pointed out, the tuition is only a small fraction of the real expense of having enemy agents afoot. Life is about to become much more unpleasant in Portland, Corvallis, and Eugene.
Oregon is a good place for a few thousand more threats to our security and potential jihadits since Oregon seems to have gone bonkers anyway. Oregon has legalized live sex acts in strip clubs and bars with the help of the illustrious ACLU and a few left wing judges. But the ACLU also believes that adult males have a inalienable right to sodomize minor males, consenually I presume, and is NAMBLA's staunchest supporter. There seems to be no malefaction that the ACLU will not defend as it continues to eradicate our heritage and remove all references or symbols of religion, except Islam, from the public square.
The pious Wahabbi students should find plenty of good, clean Islamic entertainment in Oregon and will have some fond memories of America to share and cherish. I wonder why they picked Oregon?

Oregon is one of the most liberal states in the U.S. This move will surely give Oregonians a shot of Islamic Whabbism. Hippies and gronala types in Oregon will think they have taken way too many mushrooms when they hear about this news.
Normally, cultural exchanges do promote a greater understanding and respect for other cultures. These kind of exchanges are intended to strentghen the cultural ties between the two countries.
But I am not so sure that the Saudis are very open minded to our western ways. I have true story to share that will bring this to light.
From 1998-2000 I attended graduate school in a private school on the west coast of the U.S. Numerous Saudis were also on campus studying with me. I noticed that many of them were in the fields of accounting, business, chemistry, engineering, etc.
During my final year of graduate school, I volunteered to work in the ESL Program ( english as a second language program). I was matched with a wealthy Saudi guy from Riyadh. As a conversational guide, I was expected to carry on conversations in english each week and help him to learn english.
Every Friday afternoon I met with him for 1 hour. We would talk about all kinds of topics, including religion. Gradually, we became familiar with each other and met in each others homes. Sometimes we shared meals together. While I visited his home, his wife was hidden in their back bedroom in observance of Whabbism cultural norms.
All that I can really say about his wife is that she cooked a great dinner. In all of my visits to their home, I was never once allowed to meet with her. Saudi men don't allow their woman to socialize with other men in their home, especially an infidel like me.
As the school year progressed, I noticed that my Saudi conversational speaker wanted to discuss more and more about Islam with me. As I thought would eventually happen, I soon discovered that he was trying to convert me to Islam. Towards the end of the year he invited me to his mosque for prayer and fellowhip. I accepted his invitation but told him that I will only come if he decided to come and visit my church.
After visiting the mosque, he asked if I wanted to become a Muslim. I politely told him that I was not interested in becoming a Muslim because I am a Christian.
It became clear to me that my declaration about wanting to remain a Christian did change the chemistry of our relationship.
He now viewed me as an infidel who won't convert to Islam.
Did he follow through with the agreement and come into my church to visit my place of worship? No.
After he discovered that I didn't want to become a Muslim, he didn't want to have anything to do with me and never returned my telephone calls.
Oregon is the perfect place for the Wahabbis to spreat their brand of Islam. The state si already a nut job's paradise. Traffic tickets for drug possesion. No Christmas carols allowed on public streets, but live sex shows are OK according to Oregon's Supreme Court. I was already wondering if we should kick them out of the Union.....Now I'm sure of it...YES!!!

I can only hope the Souther Poverty Law Center goes after any jihadists who pop up, as thoroughly as they go after the neo-nazis. ( Having seen the Hari Krishna hankering after the 125 acres of land a friend of mine owns in Pennsylvania, I have to wonder if the neo-nazis have to compete for land out there also :P )
