Our latest bombing (a non-suicide this time) is brought to us by Al Jazeera.com:
A car bomb hit a fast-food restaurant in the southern Pakistani city of Karachi early Tuesday, killing more than six people and wounding 15 others, medics said, according to BBC.Police sources said the blast struck the front entrance of the KFC outlet and burned several cars on the street.
The car bomb went off in a crowded business area near two luxury hotels at about 0840 (0340 GMT), during morning rush hour.
Karachi police chief Mushtaq Shah said the bomb was concealed in a car parked outside the restaurant.
“It was a high-intensity explosion and its noise was heard in several parts of the city," he said.
"It appears that the KFC was the target."
Shah said the bomb was detonated by a remote control...
It was the second attack on Western fast-food chains in Karachi in recent months. Several people were wounded in bombs attacks on Kentucky Fried Chicken and McDonald’s restaurants in September.
In May, six people died when protesters set fire to a KFC restaurant in the city...
Perhaps they should rename it:
Like "Mohammedan Fried chicken" or " Mac Osama Burgers"
or "Jihad Grilled Chickens", - what say you, Mohideen?
I guess they didn't like the buffalo wings....who would have 'thuc' it. If the KFC places are being blown up, why aren't they attacking the Hooters restaurants in Karachi, too?
Actually I think it is alot bogger than that.
It appears it was near the hotel where the New Zealand cricket team was staying and where the Englad team was set to stay.

Pakistan cricket authorities would still like England play a one-day international in Karachi next month despite the bomb blast in the southern city on Tuesday.
The bomb blast outside a fast food restaurant that killed two people and injured around 15 was close to where the England team is scheduled to stay for the third one-dayer of their tour.
"Bomb blasts have been a part and parcel these days and if Australia can play in England after the London blasts and if Sri Lanka can play in India after Delhi blasts than England can play in Karachi," Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Shaharyar Khan told reporters.
"We hope the blast will not affect the tour and we will not take any decisions on the Karachi one-dayer in panic and are in constant touch with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) and the Pakistan government."
Khan said the already strict security at grounds where England were playing would be further enhanced.
England refused to play a test in Karachi due to security concerns and have limited their stay in the city to just two days for the one-day match.
There was no immediate reaction from the England management but they only agreed to play in the city after much persuasion from the Pakistan cricket authorities.
In May, 2002 a suicide bomb attack on a five-star hotel in the same area killed 11 French naval technicians.
The New Zealand cricket team, who were staying at the hotel, flew home without playing their scheduled test.
They were just taking action to prevent the spread of bird flu.
King Testicle:
Tomorrows headline in the "Arab News:"
"Allah-bubu's snack-bar prevents bird-flu..."
"Bomb blasts have been a part and parcel these days..." Pray tell me why this is so Mr. Khan?
"and if Australia can play in England after the London blasts"
Blasts that were perpetrated by 'disaffected youths' with training in Pakistan Mr. Khan.
"and if Sri Lanka can play in India after Delhi blasts"
Blasts that were perpetrated by 'disaffected adults' with training in Pakistan Mr. Khan.
"than England can play in Karachi,"
EENNTT! Wrong conclusion Mr. Khan. Why would an athlete want to come play a gentleman's game in the most uncivilized, violent city in the most uncivilized, violent country on the planet? Why should a civilized sports team come and risk their lives to entertain a society that promotes barbarism? Your country should be isolated not rewarded for your citizen's barbaric behaviour Mr. Khan.
The Colonel's Secret recipe was fortunately not within the location at the time of the bombing...
Oh, and by the way, another secret is that he's not really a colonel!...shhh!
Maybe the Pukestani team is secretly hoping that English (& Welsh) team backs out. Boy the drubbing Pakis got today at Multan wasnt a pretty sight.
Go Barmy Army.
Bird flu spread by fowl.
Muslim flu spread by ball bearings from exploding bomb vest.
When pukistan's president Musharaf khan was begging the whole world to donate generously to the much exagirated paki earth quake, the kindhearted western countries, as usual with their christian charity beliefs contributed very liberally to these suffering people. I have seen church members of Salvation Army, and presepitarian churches going round the neighbourhoods asking for money to these quake victims. millions over millions of dollers were collected and sent from USA and Canada.Apart from that ,food items, tents, and clothes were collected from churhes and shipped at their own cost.
In gratitude, in Pakistan six churches belonging to Salation army, catholics, and other denominations were burnt down, and the local christian minorities were chased out of their village.!!( Our media willfully concealed this happenings which happened last week). Now bobmbing of KFC and other amercian and western businessesin pakistan to say "thank you for your aids to our victims.! No body here ever forgot it is the pakies who bombed and killed sixty london civilean people. Oh! JESUS! Still how long we have to be turning our other cheeks ?
Brividi for the brevetted colonel, but also for all those other symbols for Muslims of the detested West, a West defined not by Leonardo, and Lavoisier, and La Fontaine, and Lincoln (and one could do the same for every letter of the alphabet, save possibly "X"), but in the minds of some symbolized -- how could they think otherwise -- by Burger King and Macdonald's. Primitive people, primitive impulses, not-so-primitive bombs.
I first read this title as "Hugh explosion hits Karachi..."
And for a moment I thought perhaps Hugh had left undisclosedlocationville and gone to Pakistan where someone had the temerity to suggest that there should not be an early withdrawal from Iraq...
Then I re-read it -- and found it was just another run-of-the-mill report about another run-of-the-mill Muslim terrorist attack... Dang... That would have been interesting...
P.S. We can lay claim to Xenophon, pupil of Socrates, can't we? What about Xavier Cugat and his band? Not a luminary, but he played a mean fiddle...
Finger-choppin-off good? Maybe they were jelous, Colonel Sanders has done much more for mankind then Mo ever did.
Xerxes and Xenophon and Xanthus (horse, man, or god), but not Xavier Cugat mainly because of Charo. Claro?
Sì! Convenido.
