The government failure to act quickly after the devastating Pakistan earthquake has only strengthened popular support for Islamic groups which provided rapid and efficient aid operations. A hearts and minds update from The Telegraph:
A growing number of Islamist leaders say the earthquake was divine retribution for the pro-US policy of President Pervez Musharraf and have renewed calls for Islamic law to be implemented.In NWFP, a controversial Taliban-style bill has been revived by the ruling six-party religious alliance, the Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA). The provincial justice minister, Malik Zafar Azam, said the earthquake was the result of God's wrath at man's misdeeds. The new law would appoint a watchdog called Hisba, or Accountability, to uphold Islamic values.
His words were echoed by another Islamist politician in the province, Prof Hafiz Mohammed Saeed, leader of the Jama'atud Dawa.
He said: "Even un-Islamic elements have admitted that these [Islamist] religious organisations are working for the cause of humanity.
"We will set up villages of 100 tents each. They will have dispensaries and mosques."
He added: "We must enforce Islamic law in the country … the earthquake is a punishment for what the rulers have done to please the United States."
The more I read about the contagious rioting spreading across moslem ghettos in French towns, the more I imagine the showdown is beginning to happen. If 'democracies' in the EU are responsive at all to majority opinion, we should see political correctness be overrun bigtime amongst both politicians and media. The free hand of the market will reward those who speak truth and punish those who continue to wallow in denial....or maybe this is all just my wishful thinking speaking and that its already too late....
Am reminded of what Hari Seldon says about the empire in Isaac Asimov's SF classic "Foundation" - the first galactic empire is too large and too lethargic to be revived in any meaningful way. There is no choice but to let it die and reconstruct a second empire from the ashes.

So I have now read each of the Big-3 Faiths make "God is Angered/Pleased" statements. I read with amusement about dueling rabbi's claiming that Katrina et al were signs of the Big Boss' displeasure with the Isreali withdrawl, or that the very fact that Israel has been sheilded from such catastrophe's was a sign of the Big Boss pleasure with current politiking.
Not to be missed, there were competing Evangelicals revealing "God Told Me That He Is..." angered over the "atrocious behavior of the people in LA", or that this was a gentle advisement about the ever-imminent Rapture.
Of course, nothing out-performs the showmanship of the Imam's who are able to orchestrate the deaths of tens-of-thousands of fellow muslims as signs that their BigBoss is currently displeases with the performance of the Muslims. (In the sense of journalistic balance, we can easily recall the various Imams gloating about the 'disasterous' hurricanes that turned out to be much less disaster than previously-wished-for).
So, let me see if I understand this comedy show correctly. Mr. Imam says that his boss is "big time po'd" and has, over the last year, thus killed nearly 1 million muslims (Tsunami + Earthquake), 'permitted' the occupation of 'sacred' land by 'infidels', and that we should all "convert to islam and get on the straight and narrow or else..."
Mr. Imam, you're a comic genius! No wonder your mosques are filled to capacity. You make a mockery of your fellow man's suffering by trying to pin the cause on the "wrath of an angry Boss", and your people eat it up!
So Mr.Imam, I give you credit for taking bold new steps in comedy. We were all getting tired of the usual "the jooooooz did this.... the jooooz did that.... the joooz are always doing this....." The "US-Infidel-Satan-Unspeakable Evil" bit ran dry 20 years ago. I raise a beer to your comedic genius, and will take an extra big bite of my sausage-sandwhich in your honor. Why shouldn't the earthquake, followed closely by storms and freezing weather, be considered divine retribution for harboring terrorists? Why shouldn't these natural events be considered divine retribution for acting against Israel and the US, or for not advancing the material well-being of Pakistanis? It is a blame game, and blame games are pointless, solving nothing.

How quickly these lunatics leaders forgot about the 6.6 earthquake that struck Iran in december of 2003, just less than 2 years ago that killed an estimated 32,000 people. America along with other western countries flew in millions of dollars of supplies to help the Iranians, There where dozens of C-130 military aircraft flown in to help with the disaster relief of this southern Iran area.
So what was divine retribution that was handed down to the Iranians just 46 months ago for their devastating earthquake?
By the way, millions of Iranians thanked the American people openly for coming to their aid on that devastating earthquake by electing their new hardliner President Ahmadinejad who has for years blatatly called for the destruction of America,Israel, and Britain.

2. I'm no expert on the subject, but my guess is that at least half of Iranians don't support Ahmedinejad and would, if given a choice, choose a western-style democratic government.

Allah is like Geo Bush, they both work in strange and mysterious ways. One of Allahs favorite weapons is natural calamity. Since Allah cant launch missiles (not on his own anyway), and he knows nothing about driving a tank, he is forced to wage war and punish offenders, through intermediaries (muslims), weather manipulation, and a whole lot of shaking going on. Natural calamities are caused for two reasons. One, Allah is angry at muslims, and stomping his feet in a temper tantrum, or he is happy that his muslims are winning some victories and he is dancing, or he is stiring up tsunami's and hurricanes as punishments, Allah is not always happy when he dances....you know what he does with volcano's... We know what makes Allah angry. Non believers, those who dont pay the tax, muslims that stray or dont participate in jihad, and muslims who honor agreements with Joo's. So Allah was punishing muslims in Pakistan and other places by stomping his feet. He punished the US by dancing on the waters, and causing those hurricanes. Punishing America makes Allah happy. Only punishing Israel turns him on more. There he uses intermediaries (muslims) and swarms of flying insects. Dont forget that Allah is also the 'Lord of the Flys'.
Whenever you see a swarm of flies hovering over something dead or rotting, you know Allah is near. Just exactly what he gets out of inflicting all these punishments or hanging out around dead carcasses, I dont know, I just know it's wierd...But Allah knows best, who am I to argue with that...
