Muslims in Paris riot for sixth night

"Riots Plague Paris Suburbs for Sixth Night," from AP, with thanks to the Constantinopolitan Irredentist:

PARIS — Unrest spread across troubled suburbs around Paris in a sixth night of violence Tuesday as police clashed with angry youths and scores of vehicles were torched in at least nine towns, local officials said.

Police in riot gear fired rubber bullets at advancing gangs of youths in Aulnay-sous-Bois — one of the worst-hit suburbs — where 15 cars were burned, said the prefecture that runs the Seine-Saint-Denis region. Youths lobbed Molotov cocktails at an annex to the town hall and threw stones at the firehouse. It was not immediately clear whether there were injuries from the clashes.

Four people were arrested for throwing stones at police in nearby Bondy where 14 cars were burned, the prefecture said. A fire engulfed a carpet store, but it was not immediately clear whether the blaze was linked to the suburban unrest.

Officials gave an initial count of 69 vehicles torched in nine suburbs across the Seine-Saint-Denis region that arcs Paris on the north and northeast.

The area, home mainly to families of immigrant origin, often from Muslim North Africa, is marked by soaring unemployment and delinquency. Anger and despair thrive in the tall cinder-block towers and long "bars" that typically make up housing projects in France.

No trouble was immediately reported in Clichy-sous-Bois, where rioting began Thursday following the accidental deaths of two teenagers hiding to escape police in a power substation.

Nota bene: when moderate Muslim leader Dalil Boubakeur, head of the Paris mosque, tried to restore calm, his car was pelted with stones and he had to rush away.

I am sick of AP stories. They ascribe to riot and infamy the same inane description. "The area, home mainly to families of immigrant origin, often from Muslim North Africa, is marked by soaring unemployment and delinquency. Anger and despair thrive in the tall cinder-block towers and long "bars" that typically make up housing projects in France." Look at the successive waives of poor immigrants in the United States. Germans, Irish, Jews, Poles, Italians. During the depression the streets were flowing in blood. AP's story is based on the writer's ignorant speculation. I guess the writer took a survey of the bomb throwers. They said we are unemployed. They said we are in despair. Why did not our medieval ancestors riot more frequently? The unemployment rate is the lowest in Franch history. Perhaps the headlines should read nouveau riche immigrants riot for the fun of it. Being Muslim or poor is not a license to riot.

Now would be an excellent time for a reprint of--with perhaps a foreword by the author--or even a sequel to Hugh's 2004 piece titled Douce France.

I am sick of AP stories

If you think that's bad, try the BBC. No mention of Muslims at all, except indirectly and in a way that puts the blame on others:

Unrest has flared since two north African boys died.
Anger grew after a tear gas canister was hurled into a mosque in Clichy on Sunday night. Anger has also been fuelled by the mass arrests.

Then this from Sarkozy:

'I speak with real words'

That will help, I suppose.

One stale piece at CNN.com, not much coverage elsewhere.

It's spread to some copycat operations in Arhus Denmark per a translation by Viking Observer blogspot via a link at Atlas Shrugs.

A memorial Weblog has been set up by friends of one the guys who electrocuted himeself and caused the spark that began the riots which, after 6 nights have still not abated.

The blog is here, but even those who understand french will have trouble decifering the gibberish which passes for the french 'djeunese' language.

For some reason, probably due to the racist french school system, these kids were never allowed to attend school:

The piety of the comments are quite moving:

A most touching memorial blog.

That website for which Sebastian, a real knight, leaves the link above, is full of verlan (meuf, keuf, brelica, etc.) and old-fashioned illiteracy, save for the odd comment by an infuriated Frenchman. The site is a tombstone on the grave of Jules Ferry, or perhaps not that of Ferry himself, but all of French culture, its cremains gathered together and buried, or if not ending in fire than in water, for it is being jettisoned, bit by bit, from the other ferry, le bac (and not le Bac, which fully deserves its mention tres bien) that plies between the deux rives, North Africa and France, across that Mediterranean that we have been so repeatedly told "does not divide but unites," but though that bark or bac never quite sinks -- fluctuat nec mergitur, what did you expect -- in order to stay afloat, thrown overboard is the French language, French history, French culture, French everything, and all that is thrown into the water causes its level to rise, and while the North African side, never high to begin with, floods completely, the once-high bank on the French side appears to diminish in height as the water rises. And so does France lower itself, in every sense, little by little.

Voila, deux-rivistes of the world. There it is, messieurs et mesdames, voila la France out of its depth, because it is in too deep. But who needs La Fontaine, or the pride of France, the dictee, as long as the oil flows, the petrodollars are recycled to the right swine, and we continue to bear burnt offerings -- cars, houses, schools, a civilization -- to the untouchable and implacable Idols of the Age, those Articles of Faith about tolerance, diversity, what is thinkable and what "unthinkable," which were only creations of fallible humans in the first place.

Satisfied?

Anger and despair thrive in the tall cinder-block towers and long "bars" that typically make up housing projects in France.

Muslim immigrants did not find anger and despair in Paris. They brought it with them from the islamic cesspools from which they emigrated. They don't want jobs. They want power. They don't want to live with the French. They want the French to submit or die. They do not want peace. They want war. Then war they shall have. But not the 7th century tribal war with which they are familiar. They shall have European war. Methodical, industrial, mathematically calculated, European war, in the tradition of our Roman, Norse, Celtic, Gothic and Slavic ancestors.

Think of this as an education for Europe, like Theo van Gogh. It may help them wake up.

Well, my French is rusty, but somehow I entertain the quaint notion that I can say things in French I probably wouldn't say in English!

I was in French school when they still had uniforms and serious discipline. When I see Indian schoolchildren wear those uniforms today, I think it looks very charming and probably makes them behave better. I do believe in being a free spirit and free thinker, but that should come later.

There may have been a comment on this by now, but one can't help thinking that there may be another driving force behind the continuing riots that have spread into the other nine suburbs of Paris and maybe beyond for the 6th straight night.

This is certainly an opportunity for anti-west Islamists ,al-Qaeda sympathizers,or what have you, to help fan the fires of what originally triggered the rioting in the first place. Authorities point out that the Northeast area of Paris is a clearly fertile grounds for Islamist sympathizers.
Chirac has called for calm in the region ,and he is clearly backing Sarkozy's hardline on the criminal element that seems to rule this area of Paris by saying "That zones without law cannot exist in this republic".

Officials said "small, very mobile gangs" harassed police and set fire to garbage cans and vehicles throughout the region.France-Info radio said some 150 blazes were reported in garbage bins, cars and buildings across Seine-Saint-Denis,

Much of this violence is very similar to the riots in Los Angeles in 1992 with the exception that there has apparently not been the kind of violence that lead to the loss of lives. Nearly 70 people where killed during that rioting over the infamous Rodney King Incident, and trial of the Los Angeles police officers that arrested him.

No way. The original was a rare second person narrative gem.

"Gimme all ya got!" -- Vincent Hanna, 1995

"Mad Jack"--

The final "Satisfied?" in the posting above was not a reply to your initial request -- may I call you "Mad"? -- but was addressed to those deux-rivistes whose achievements in reverse I noted Jules-Ferry-ferry-le-bac-Le-Bac-Chiron-ironically in the preceding paragraph. "Douce France" can be retrieved either by googling "Douce France" (see how high up it is in the long list of things that come when you simply call "Douce France"), or by going to the "Articles" at the top of the JW page.

But I agree with you. Of course I'd like to see it put up again. Timely. And the more time passes, the timelier. Alas.

"Your Madness" will suffice. Bring the sequel, baby.

We need a global make-work program. Western nations should offer competitive salaries to put the muslims on an airplane and send-em-back-where-they-came-from. Sound racist? Sound extremist? How about "compassionate"

Western govt's should "send em back" with salaries and equipment under a massive Aid Package. Send the culturally sensivitive, arabic speaking to the quake stricken areas to manpower in food, rebuild infrastructure, tend to the wounded etc. Those people who cant integrate into western society for various legal/cultural reasons could be a HELP to their fellow muslim peoples, rather than being a rioting burden to the 'chosen host' culture.

Help the destitute. Chase out the ones who cant accept western society. Make the world a better place.

Meantime today I received an Email from www.francevoila.com, a website advising the English on the joys and frustration of owing old french farms.

I normally don't reply to these newsletters but the one I recieved today caught my attention. The writer focussed on the jiys of Ramadan.

This was my reply:

Hi

I know that France remains a dream location for many people, but to suggest that Ramadam is a pleasant shared occasion, is so far from the truth I wonder if you actually live here.

The lack of food makes them edgy and nervous during the day and traffic accidents caused by fasting muslims with low blood sugar levels are not rare at all.

Ramadam involves fasting from dawn to dusk and then stuffing oneself like gorged fois gras fodder in early evening. When the meals are over, they come into Paris by public transport and look for infidel faces to beat up. If, after an All Saints mass, church goers went on a rampage on les Champs Elysées you can be sure it will be not be ignored.

I warn all my visitors in Paris to be especially careful during Ramadan because after around 9 pm, it's not wise to be in many areas. To equate Ramadan with the normal pieties of other religions is largely an excercise in self delusion.

The France of Peter Mayle now exists only in the mind of estate agents, travel companies and deluded writers.

Best Regards

I see that Fjordman will be shutting down his blog soon, for normal personal reasons and not because of anything adverse.

Thanks for your good service, Fjordman. You certainly opened my eyes as to what's going on up there in Scandinavia.

Care to share with us exactly what goes on in there after 9 pm, Sebastien?

Chaz, to walk down the Champs Elysées after 9 pm is like being part of a casting for the latest Romero movie. Just keep walking straight ahead and try to ignore agressive begging (a refusal to give a cigarette has led to more than one death), grotesque stares at you if you are a non hijabbed woman.

Pretending not to speak French will get you out of most trouble, but tourists are easy prey. They don't know the currency, language and look at the lovely graffiti covered monuments rather than at the danger ahead.

When The New Year festivities on the Champs reached fever pitch, a young woman was stripped to her underwear and abandoned. One night in June there were six stabbings. If you understand French, you can read the comments here. http://www.france-echos.com/actualite.php?cle=6038

The area appears to have become a playground also for rich foreign arabs who come with their families to go Louis Vuitton and the perfume showrooms.

Bear in mind that the Champs Elysees is in a good area of Paris, miles away from the trouble spots in the suburbs.

Benjamin, when I read the trouble that warriors like De Gaulle and Churchill had to get the rest of the world to realize that Totalitarianism was not a matter to be dealt with by cheap pay offs, I think we are still miles away from showdown.

The riots in France will die down in a short while. The neighbourhoods will be repainted, car insurance will increase, while authorities reach out to the misunderstood immigrants. The 'djeunes' will understand how much further the envelope can be pushed and the rest will be relieved its not their neighbourhood or their car which was destroyed.

If Churchill needed Pearl Harbor to persuade the USA that the blazing fire in the european neighbourhood was not to be ignored, how much more, in this age do we need.

The civilized world has been raped, brutalized, massacred, robbed, spat upon and mutilated and still we continue to give reason to utter inhumanity.

Londoners die, Blair gives billions to Palestine
and ask Tarik Ramadan for advice. Children beheaded, more aid money to pakistan, Iran threatens genocide, Kofi is 'dismayed' and Charles tells Bush to be more understanding. Beslan children shot in the back, Putin sells arms to Iran and Syria.

We are not even close to even start winning the war of ideas, let alone any real war.

I admire your optimism that I once shared, but I am unable to persuade anyone for more than one evening that Islam = Facsism. I have lost friends, been called a racist, fascist whatever. I feel like a ranting old man sitting in the corner who everyone ignores.

I see my life as reduced to shouting at nightly TV news every evening and ranting on the net unless....unless...Bin Laden really does the big one he has promised his adoring fans.

Then maybe, but only maybe the voices of Oriana Fallaci, Bat Ye'or Philippe de Villiers, Hirsi Ali, Ibn Warraq, Robert Spencer will find an echo in their countrymen.

I am afraid this is just a prelude to the future. And, you got some dumbos thinking about how to appease the Muslims. We would have be much better off if someone went into those zones and cracked skulls. In the short term, that type of strategy might cause more rioting. But if these Muslims get anything as a result of their outrageous behavior, they are going to keep on with the rioting.

What is missing from the articles is how the rioting is encouraged by the local Muslim religous leaders. Those leaders are always telling their followers to attack infidels. Of course, don't expect AP or the mainstream media to report that.

I know what Sebastien means all too well. I live in Brussels, where the Moroccans will very soon be in the majority. When I go out in the evening and have to go to the centre it is to run a gauntlet of arab "males" who offer me all of life's possible pleasures in their stinking beds; and if they're not doing that, they are attacking Europeans and actively trying to kill gays. The police see nothing, do nothing. There have been riots in Brussels but the francophone media never report them, leaving that to the flemish. And as the BBC and most other foreign oganisations don't understand Dutch, nothing gets reported abroad. The most popular boy's name in Belgium is now Mohammed. Welcome to the Islamic Republic.

Same old story. It doesn't mater where these muslims are. Paris, London, Pakistan, where there are muslims there is conflict.

Sebastian said "Londoners die, Blair gives billions to Palestine
and ask Tarik Ramadan for advice. Children beheaded, more aid money to pakistan, Iran threatens genocide, Kofi is 'dismayed' and Charles tells Bush to be more understanding. Beslan children shot in the back, Putin sells arms to Iran and Syria."

Nice summary of the bizarre alternate-universe we currently inhabit.

I keep thinking of the accounts of Theo Van Gogh's last conversation with a Muslim:

VG: "Good Day"
M: [stab]
VG: "What are you doing?"
M: [stab]
VG: "I say, old chap, what is going on?"
M: [stab]
VG: "Can't we talk about this?"
M: [stab]
VG: "Surely we can reason this out!"
M: [stab]
VG: "Help!"
M: [stab] [stab] [stab]

Quite the Old World Gentleman to the very end. Unilateral tolerance can be quite detrimental to one's health.

What do you folks think would happen if this type of Muslim rioting broke out in the United States? Would it be shut down quickly or would fears of whiners prevent a timely intervention and cause law enforcement to allow the riots to burn themselves out?

This type of thing can't be tolerated in civilized countries. If I've said this once I've said it a thousand times. Muslims, if you don't like the western nation that you are a guest of then go home. If you're a citizen choose between your religion or your country. If the Muslim brotherhood means more than your nation's constitution then move to a Muslim country where you will feel more comfortable. Don't try to bring the rest of the world down to your backward mean-spirited culture of hate that keeps you in poverty.

Being a Fr.Cdn l am upset at how stupid the Europeans are particular France! how brow beaten are these people! We have similiar media here, and appeasement to these so called Muslim groups who complain about being prejudiced against! Why cant the media be honest for a change. all l can say is thank God for Talk Radio, and this website!!

Eons ago, Marie Brenner writing in Vanity Fair, wrote an excellent piece on the French Jewish commmunity in France in relation with rising Muslim anti-semitism.

Sebastien, Samantha

Don't give up hope. Things will probably get a lot worse before they get better, but the message will
get out as people think about what's going on.

If either of you is Jewish, I'd advise you to leave ASAP, because Europeans will be quick to sacrifice
their Jewish populations to appease the Mohammadans.
I imagine those who don't flee will be killed or
converted, or at the very best, lead rather horrible
lives being persecuted.

If you're not Jewish, or even if you are, I'd advise
you to acquire some knowledge about small arms, like
pistols and rifles. It's not like the movies.

Benjamin has a point. Depending on how this rioting is resolved, it could be a fortuitous turn of events.

You better believe all of Western Europe is nervously watching. If this is a replay of the Muslim riots in Northern England 3 years ago, it will just die down on its own volition. But if the riots persist and continue spreading, the implications for Europe could be quite profound. This could be the early stages of civil war and the catalyst for a much harsher and more enlightened policy-paradigm towards immigrants and immigration.

Alot depends upon how the French handle this. If the response to the rioting ends up being an attenuated dhimmitude, it would be very unfortunate. The Islamization of France will proceed a-pace and Muslims throughout the Continent will be emboldened by the example of the torched vehicle.

But if the riots persist and the French grow sufficiently exasperated, there is a potential here for a transformative dynamic to unfold, that the French (and Europeans) may actually begin accepting the premise that the newcomers are incompatible with a progressive, tolerant, democratic society.

French police have complained they're not equipped
to deal with the rioters..how about the Legion Etranger..bet they have plenty of equipment..

American,
I totally agree as far as Jews needing to arm. also, Israel should be actively recruiting the Jews of Europe to return home- a real influx of jews could change the calculus in judea and samaria, as well. Cornelius, as far as being optimistic, I see no evidence to support Europeans waking up to the muslim menace. Even after the train bombings in London and Madrid, the euro trash are still arabist, and apoligists for jihad.

Sebastien,

Take heart, we all feel the same as you do!

I just watched the BBC and they finally mentioned the rioting-blaming it on Sarkozy and his tough on crime policy. The immigrants suffering from his policies, blah, blah, blah. No mention of them being muslims at all. No mention of the constant crime that needs to be stopped.

Unless something happens most people are unaware. I knew nothing about islam before 9/11. Only that the middle east lived on revenge and had been fighting for over a thousand years. I didn't know why they fought. I only knew this because of a relative ranting at the TV ( he was called a racist, too and listened to talk radio). And I paid attention in school! I liked history. It just isn't taught.

Everything I needed to know about islam I learned on 9/11. Everything since then has only confirmed things. I listened to the news every night, but until 9/11 I never listened to talk radio for the "other side". I only started to listen to talk radio because I had the time. Others don't. I heard so many things that never make the news. I was hooked! Talk radio led me to Mr. Spencer's books and this site.

Most people are busy and don't like to worry about things they can't control. Don't give up!!!

Keep the talk radio on. Encourage people to read Mr. Spencer's books. His latest one especially since it's easier. E-mail articles to people that are outrageous. (Yeah, I know people don't always read them.) Point out that the mainstream media just doesn't want to mention muslim stories. PLANT A SEED.

SOMEBODY will be converted even if not right away!!!

And in the meantime, with Mr. Spencer's grace to leave comments on, we can boost each other!

Call me crazy, but it appears that the mainstream media is suffering from Stockholm Syndrome. The West has been taken "captive" by years of hyperventilating
Muslim apologists and are now sympathizing with their captors. Not even Fox News reported the Muslim linkage to the French episode. And will someone please explain why Muslim prisoners are given Korans?
Isn't that a bit like giving amphetamines to a psychopath?

We must not give up hope... desire... or will to fight!

Our greatest weapon is the spread of knowledge about Islam, I talk to to as many people as I can and I make one or two converts a week.

I give away as my means permit Eurabia to my European freinds and PIG to all the rest.

The main barrier is lack of knowledge, which the excellent work of Mr Spencer and Hugh and the writings of the anti-Jihadist vanguard can easily fill.

No American should take any joy of what is going on in France, our greatest of all weapon is our the solidarity of the non Muslim cultures.

On a recent family trip to Poland I talked nonstop to my wife's Polish relatives and found much hope in their love of their European civilisation and religious faith.
Ditto my family in Spain and friends in Bavaria.

I f Paris is burning and the Islamists are on the streets, then I stand in solidarity with the French.

Only together and with solidarity can we will defeat this scourge of civilisation and freedom.
