To his credit, FarraKlan is actually an accomplished, classically trained vioinist. He's no Itzhak Perlman, but he is reported to be of professional caliber.
I can recall him in the 90s playing with a symphony in an effort, as he said (I'm paraphrasing) "Show young black men that they need not turn to profane, insulting garbage to make music." It was a direct, none-to-subtle slap to the Rap "music" industry.

I live in Oakland. The area where this event occurred is in flux from various forces, none of them "good".
The arab run liquor stores are really a blight on our already troubled neighborhoods. These stores cater not only to alcoholic suicide, but also provide "blunt" wraps for pot smoking, screens and pipes for crack smoking, as well as other blatant drug paraphernelia. I personally believe that these liquor stores are the "go to" spots for handing out arms once the opportunity presents itself for civil strife(quake, flood or fire).
A friend told me the story of how he was having a conversation with a 7up truck driver delivery guy. This 7up driver who delivers to many of the arab run liquor stores in Oakland said he would deliver the soft drinks and the store owners would pay in small bills ($1's & $5's) and explained how it was irritating to him to have to work this route. One day he is fed up and tells the guy in ONE STORE that he wants to be paid in larger bills and then he sited reasons for it. Let me tell you, dear JW/DW readers,every remaining store on his route had gotten the word and had large bills for him THAT SAME DAY. They are definitely in close communication and are still on the side of jihad. Most are painted with green trim or have green awnings. There is one store in West Oakland that has a tall spire (very gothic styled building), at the very top there is a small green sign with arabic writing on it. I am going to post a pic of it so that hopefully someone can tell me what it says.
The Black Muslims are a whole different (and yet part of the same) issue. They have an increasingly strong presence in the area, they are buying property, opening centers, etc.,... in the area. They stand at the center divide on busy street corners and are completely aggressive with their dawa. One guy stuck his head inside my vehicle (on the passenger side)to try to get me to listen to his reverse racist scree... since then I carry a large can of pepper spray right in the car door map pocket. But that is not all. I have heard stories of the black muslims raping prostitutes and beating them up, and that this goes on regularly but is seldomly reported. About a month ago I was driving home and saw a huge intersection of the main street was taped off by police... come to find out there had been a murder committed, the victim was Antar Bey, the son of Yusef Bey who was Oakland's most notorious Black Muslim leader http://www.kron.com/Global/story.asp?S=4031549 and police want to say this was a random carjacking... I doubt that was the motivation for the slaying when there are so many other political reasons for it.
It's pretty scary knowing that most people in my area don't have a clue of what is going on around them. I just purchased a shotgun and 4 boxes of shells (two boxes of double aught 9 pellet shot and two boxes of slugs), I alternated them in the magazine.

I lived in Hayward from 1980 until 1992.
Oakland was, for a time then, known as the murder capitol of the world (worse than East Palo Alto, Dettroit, etc.).
Many of the murders, and other crimes, were fueled by the illegal drug business, but there were plenty of shootings right in front of the many, many liqour stores and check cashing store fronts.
As the problem slowly moved south, I wasn't sad when I sold my house and moved.
I imaagine that it has, per your post, only gotten worse.

Oakland, especially East Oakland, has been a crap hole for decades... I lived there years ago, and remember seeing Nation of Islam stuff emerge in the 1980s. The black community is extremely radicalized there -- it's close to the whole Black Panthers terrorist organization... No wonder it's a fertile recruiting ground for the NOI fanatics... I had never before encountered such hate-filled black racism against whites until I moved to Oakland... and I come from Detroit!
Oakland's mindset is part of a cancer that provides the opportunisitc infection of Islam and Muslims... There's nothing whites can do to appease the black hatred directed against them... It has become their most potent unifier, and excuse for not accounting to their constituency... It seems that if democracy is confronted by a terminal culture of victimhood and hatred, it fails utterly... And Oakland is just one example.... No Rafia, you misunderstand, I didn't mean that the alcohol culture of Britain turns them into terrorists, but that the drinking of alcohol keeps them away from us. Pubs and nightclubs are muslim free zones, or should be, and so we can have our own space and talk about them, without muslims being "offended".
Borg - re basketball shorts - yes they were tight in the 60's - but if you go way back, they looked just like they do now. Recycled fashion trend if you ask me. Basketball players, as well as other athletes in college tended to sport long hair, sideburns, mustaches, Afro's, etc. then too - farther back were more clean cut with crew cuts, now are more clean cut - another cycling fashion trend.
