Palestinians appalled by the suicide bombing in Jordan -- because it killed Muslims. This is yet another manifestation of Islam's sharp distinction between believers and unbelievers; Palestinian Arabs have for years glorified as heroes those who carried out suicide attacks against Israeli civilians. But against Muslims! That's going too far!
This story does contain a suggestion that now -- now -- Palestinians will start thinking differently about attacks on Jewish civilians. Can a traumatic event really bring about a change in one's guiding philosophy? I hope so. But I won't be holding my breath.

Is it possible that Arabs are killing Arabs, Muslims killing Muslims?" asked a weeping Najah Akhras, 35, who lost two nieces.
Similar thoughts were heard over and over in the West Bank and Gaza Strip on Thursday, as Palestinians expressed outrage over suicide attacks aimed at civilians....
For more than five years, Palestinian militants have carried out dozens of suicide bombings in Israel, killing hundreds of people, often with wide support from a public that believed the attacks were a justified response to Israeli military rule.
But the mood has changed in recent months following a cease-fire with Israel, and the attacks in Amman could further sway public opinion against suicide bombings.
"Palestinians have tasted the blind violence that does not differentiate between people — children, women, wedding parties, ordinary people," said Palestinian newspaper commentator Hani al-Masri.
"I expect now a significant change in the Palestinian political culture," he said. "For sure, this attack will push Palestinians to reconsider this way of suicide bombings, and I think it would reduce support for attacks that kill people without any differentiation."...
At a small mosque in Gaza City, worshippers asked God to send the souls of the Amman victims to heaven and to prevent the attackers from harming the image of Islam.
"I oppose killing Jewish civilians," said Radwan Abu Ali, a 22-year-old university student in Gaza City. "They could go and fight American soldiers. They could come to Palestine to fight Israeli soldiers in the West Bank. But to kill innocents, there is nothing to describe them but criminals and the enemy of God."
Are they really worried about the image of Islam? Then let them not just curse Zarqawi. Let them act, let them do everything they can, to eradicate his ideology from the Islamic world.
In stating his condolances to Jordan, Bush again refered to Islam as a worlds great religion. I guess if they say it and he says it, it must be true...The blind leading the blind...I think Bush is blind in one eye and cant see out of the other...good thing he's near the end of his rope...er...term...
Is it possible that Arabs kill Arabs, Muslims kill Muslims? Gee, duh! Hasn't that been going on at least since 9/11? Every single suicide attack since then has had Muslim victims. Hellllllooooooo! Anybody home?
I don't think any infidels died in the Jordan attacks. The only two American victims I read about seem to have Middle-Eastern names, so they were probably Muslims. It's okay to kill a few Muslims if most of the victims are infidels. But when the proportion is totally the wrong way (too many Muslims), then it's just not right.
I once listened to a Jewish Christian, Avi Lipkin who said something like,'
"Once Islam has killed all the Jews, all the Christians, and all the Christians, Muslims then kill Muslims".
He then looked at that Islamic paradise, that Dar Al Islam of Dar Al Islam, Afghansitan as proof.

Haven't more than 250,000 Muslims in Darfur been murdered by other Muslims over the past two years? Where is the outrage among Arabs over that. In Algeria over the past 20 years, tens of thousands of Muslims have been killed by other Muslims as part of a civil war. Entire villages have been wiped out, with children being dragged out of their beds in the middle of the night and their throats cut by other Muslims. Where is the outrage among Arabs over that? The Amman bombings were a high-profile event that drew a lot of Western media coverage. The Arabs being quoted are telling Western reporters what they want to hear. We should all be very skeptical about this talk of a shift in attitudes.

Not to mention the ongoing carnage in Iraq, where we've gone from seeing a "secular" Muslim thugocracy massacring citizens to Saudi, Syrian and Iranian backed Muslim "insurgents" massacring Muslims for "collaborating" with Coalition troops, the 8-year blood bath between Iran and Iraq, the Syrian Alawite massacre of fundamentalists in Hama, and the massacre and persecution of Muslim minorities by the Sunni majority in Pakistan.
And this is far from being a new development. In a recent piece by David Meir-Levi on frontpagemag.com examining the "root causes" meme, he notes that of the four "righteous Caliphs" who succeeded Mohammed, three were assassinated by... ...Muslims.
