An update to this modern-day slavery case. From the The Rocky Mountain News:
A Saudi woman accused of keeping an Indonesian nanny as a virtual slave in her Aurora home was ordered Tuesday to post $5,000 bail for violating a restraining order that forbade her from contacting the alleged victim. Prosecutors have said Sarah Khonaizan, 36, made contact with the nanny in October but haven't disclosed what the women may have discussed.Khonaizan is scheduled to attend a preliminary hearing on her alleged violation of the restraining order in January.
Arapahoe County Judge Christine Chauche reminded Khonaizan through a translator Tuesday to have "no contact of any kind" with the alleged victim.
She ordered Khonaizan, whose face was concealed by a niqaab, or a Muslim face veil, to post bail upon leaving the courtroom or face immediate arrest.
Both Khonaizan and her husband, 37-year-old Homaidan Al-Turki, are accused of bringing the woman to the United States as their hired nanny and keeping her as a virtual prisoner in their home for several years.
Prosecutors say the couple underpaid the nanny and prevented her from returning to her homeland by withholding her passport.
Al-Turki faces additional state charges of sexually assaulting the nanny.
Re: "Al-Turki faces additional state charges of sexually assaulting the nanny."
Haven't we been repeatedly told by apologists for Islam that it teaches respect and morality moreso than infidel religions? Another example of their bullcrap.
Time for these two to board a plane.

Bastard can't even speak English, can he?
He is useless to American society, and should be sent back to Bedrock....

"Trick or treat" was on October 31.....How did they even know it was her if her faccha brutto was covered?
This dumbass Saudi will find out that in America she's not above the law.
She was trying to get in touch to offer her a large sum of money, no doubt, to drop the whole case. Or possibly to threaten her, to note that wherever she ended up, she would not necessarily be safe from Saudi wrath. Or possibly both. What other conceivable reason is there?
johnb,
He is being moral. After all, he is just emulating Mohammed.
At least in a U.S. court, he cannot use the "black magic and sorcery" defense - "She used black magic on me and I was powerless to resist."
DC,
He probably DOES speak English. He was just creating more inconvenience to court by "needing" one. Either that, or Judge Clauche was making certain that he could not come back late and say, "I didn't understand".
Just so that we're all on the same page:
...Both Khonaizan and her husband, 37-year-old Homaidan Al-Turki...

Al-Turki brought his wife, five children and the Indonesian woman to Colorado in 2000 while he pursued a graduate degree in linguistics at the University of Colorado.
She's the pretender.
And if they're convicted, I hope they're imprisoned in the U.S. for their crimes.
Then send them home.
Grduate work in linguistics, with possibly a special interest in degenerative grammars.
PRCS,
Whoops. I had forgotten that he was in the U.S. studying linguistics.
Has anyone discovered where the money to support him and his family is coming from?
Al-Turki?
He won't need to be applying for scholarship aid any time soon.
if he's a linguist and studying at a university, he can damn well speak English. Just wants to harass the court, play dumb, maybe attract sympathy as a simple peasant, and cause the Americans to needlessly spend money.
The slaveholders are victims of cruel ignorant repression. (sarcasm off)! Did you not know slavery is perfectly lawful in Islamic society even today? I read a fatwa by the learned Mufti Ibrahim Ebrahim Desai. He sums up Koranic logic best. Slavery gives the unwilling slave a second chance (to a Moslem willing slave) to avoid an eternity of hell which the unwilling slave surely would have achieved had willing Moslem murdered the slave prior to being enslaved for a second chance. The Mufti argues slavery is a humanism. Mufti writes at:
http://www.islam.tc/ask-imam/view.php?q=1928
and the Mufti opines:
Allah is our creator and ultimate Master. We, as his creations and slaves
are obliged to express our servitude to Him Alone. If one does not submit
his slavery to Allah, which of course is far more heinous and unjust to
Allah in comparison to the 'injustices' of slavery and sexual relationship,
etc. by a human master.
Since the human being did not willingly submit to the ultimate Master,
Allah, He condemns them to the unwilling slavery of his sincere slaves. And
by understanding the powers of a man master, they may understand the Powers
of the True Master, Allah. In fact, the concept of slavery should be
regarded as a concept of mercy, as the heinous crime of rejecting Allah as
our Master demands immediate terminating of life. Allah, our kind Master,
has granted an opportunity to his very negators to enjoy a second chance of
life and redirect it to the right avenue by submitting to Him as the
ultimate Master.
and Allah Ta'ala Knows Best

David,
Stunning link. Always wondered when that f-ing Nazi Desai would show his true colours. "Be slaves of muslims or die" is the message, then, is it?
Mushrooms clouds and Mecca, Batman.
Prophet Geoff
The Saudis do this often in their own country with no trouble at all but in America I really hope they get all the trouble they have coming to them.......please they must be sent from the country too after serving jail time.
The women are bad don't let the little woman syndrome get you.
Eliyahu,
Um. The judge spoke to his wife through an interpreter.
Not the husband.
This really gags me. Freedom of speech in our country was never set up so that bad people could get away with bad actions. Remember the stories over this past year about the foster parents who enslaved and starved the kids who they were responsible for. I think it went on in Florida. Those people are in big trouble. But these pigs from another country can do this to someone from another foreign country, living in our midst and we are not more outraged? Since when is rape passed over with a wink and a nod? Put these animals in a cage where they belong and throw away the key. And if the wife did call up the nanny to threaten her, add a couple sentences for extortion. If any of us pulled this, we'd be eating our Thanksgiving leftovers behind bars.
