According to the news the 'rioting' has spread across the borders into Germany and Belgium. He's right about stopping, but wrong that the authorities wont 'do' anything. Unless France and the rest of the area want to give over power to muslim insurectionists, they will be forced to get tough...really tough...

Roxane, I think the French are scared of causing a real insurrection. Of course, they are going to get one by doing nothing. Personally, I would rather go out fighting. Plus, as the adage goes, it's easier to ask forgiveness than permission. Over the past two years, or somewhat less, many of us have attempted to create a movement of the people, and within our group here we've made some valuable gains, producing effective leaflets, organizing group meeting, creating contact groups, setting up off-stie web-pages and blogs. The archives detail our efforts fully, and for those who wish to continue the effort a search will be interesting and valuable.
We haven't failed in our attempts to create a movement. We're simply not as successful as one would hope. Our efforts were worthwhile but we were, over-all, premature in the eyes of the world. In keeping with that, some of us have urged a "politics of confrontation" that one may find by a search again of the archives. The phrase "Propaganda of the deed" sums it up. (I don't recall if it originates with Bakunin or Kropotkin.) Here one will find explanations regarding one avenue of approach to the conflict we have with our Muslim cousins.
The point IceDragon raises is a radical one few are likely to accept, but I addressed it at the link below, and have written about it here as well.

A modest proposal:
I think, once again, that America is being called upon to help save the French from a calamity they have helped to create... I know this is tough -- but we Americans always step up to the plate, and help these cowards when they're down and out -- even when they cause the problems themselves (nearly always the case...) But let's be big -- and lend a hand once again to these sorry losers...
Here are some ideas I have:
For starters, I hope there are plans afoot to dismantle the various cathedrals in Europe and reassemble them in America... Magnificent cultural treasures such as these shouldn't go to waste...
Also, some red state right in the middle of America, should start buying extra land and start drawing up plans for extra wings and lots of parking -- those museums over there are PACKED with staggering amounts of culturally significant loot... Acres and acres of stuff...
Calls for another wave of European immigration is probably about to happen --although our immigration policy is completely insane, and we're finally beginning to clamp down on the influx, I would encourage Americans to consider a certain tolerance for larger numbers of European Christians to emigrate here -- just temporarily -- but it's the right thing to do...
Also, perhaps we should make sure we get some cuttings from various orchards and vineyards -- it would be a shame if all those plants they cultivated, especially those relating to wine production were simply left to rot in the ground --
I guess that goes for all of their industrial capacity too -- all the factories and equipment -- It won't be much use to the bunch that's taking over operations -- Sadly we'll still receive plenty of European exports, but it will probably consist mainly of violence, since I think as a natural resource oil is in fairly short supply there.............

Secondly, though, I do not think the answer is to encourage another onslaught of immigration. Come on, are we never going to stand and fight or help other people stand and fight? That's what Americans have always been good at. Let's pull our guys out of Iraq and send them over to Europe, before too many of the Europeans accept their Dhimmi status. Let's blow on the cinders of Christianity, Chivalry, decency and the golden rule. These are not dead yet and we can still turn them around. An Islamist is a person that is believing in and abiding by Quran and insists on strict adherence even to its most archaic content. (The wish for punishment of apostats and worldwide dominance can but must not accompany that.) "Archaic content" is the content that contradicts things called "personal freedom" or "universal human rights" diametrically. Those things were not preordained but came into being through a dolorous process that took almost 2000 years, from the rights for the citizens of the Greek and Roman Republics through the Reformation, the British Habeas Corpus Act, the American and French Revolution etc. pp.
These "universal human rights" are not only codified in many national Constitutions, first off the American Constitution (but also - lo and behold - the French and courtesy US of A the German and Japanese Constitutions) but also the United Nations´ Declaration of Human Rights, and thus they are the "World Standard".
As long as those "Islamists" recluse themselves to "their" countries, where they are the traditional majority, bad enough.
But the simple but crucial point is, that once they spread into countries whose constitutions entail those "universal human rights", their strict adherence to Quran AUTOMATICALLY AND BY DEFINITION is a VIOLATION of the respective countries´ laws and constitutions, if it can be shown, that Quran contradicts the "universal human rights". This is a very simple but often overlooked logic.
My point is, that - to ban Islam from western countries thoroughly - it is sufficient to undergo the task and to check Quran and the teachings of its proselites with the US constitution´s amendments and other countries´ laws.
1) Quran promotes sex with children - even the "Prophet" did it to Aishe and the proselites are asked to follow their prophet´s example.
Fine, last time I checked, child-porn, sex with children and the forced marriage of children were criminal offences in all western countries. Everybody who insists on following Quran here commits a crime and could be send to jail for some years.
2) Quran promotes the punishment of women (go to memri.com and watch the video of the Saudi "scholar" explaining who it is to be done). Every Muslim who follows Quran here commits an indictable offence and will be imprisoned in any country that forbids the physical punishment of women.
3) Quran claims that Moslem woman judicially are of only half the value of men. Fine, spread the word, call the ACLU and imprison and ban everybody from public life who claims this to be true.
4) Quran claims that is not only ok to chastise, rob, and even kill people who do not believe in a contrivance called "Allah", but that those acts will be rewarded in the kingdom come by that very contrivance "Allah". Can it be allowed to tolerate a cult that calls for perpetual criminal acts?
5) While it is admissible to let proselites of the "religions of the books" alive (Jews/Christians), Quran promotes death as the just therapy for atheists and members of other religions. Must such a creed not be stymied? Can you allow adherers of that faith to become members of the civil service? Certainly not.
A sophisticated examination of Quran by superior lawyers will UNDOUBTEDLY prove IN COURT that it constantly calls for criminal acts that violate the laws and constitutions of most Western Countries. Case closed.
A brief check of any Quran´s index will give you a hundred more proofs for my claim that Quran and the US or any western country´s constitution DO NOT GO TOGETHER. Just because nobody so far has rationally thought that through point by point, or sura by sura, does not mean that Quran will stand the test of the US´ or European constitutions. It won´t.
So instead of hate-mongering against all moderate Muslims and backbiting Liberals one could do something constructive and do a judicial comparison of Quran and one´s respective constitution. That would convince even the maligned "other 50 %" that the state of Allah is foul beyond redemption and provide some real judicial ammunition. People do not know how injust the Quran is! They need to be educated! But shure, if one lives in a contrived world of a antistatist natural order of Mieses and Hayek, that´s a leftist no-no.

Exactly, like the "Clintonian" failed FBI sting in 1991 when they bungled the prevention of the first World Trade Center attack of blind Sheik Omar´s gang by withdrawing the FBI informant INSIDE the gang against his will.
It didn´t take the Army to prevent 9/11 but able law enforcement agencies. The CIA and FBI knew about several highjackers and did nothing to stop them. Face it, to win the war against Islamists you need to revamp the Criminally Inept Agency and the Federal Bungling Institution. Ineptitude becomes institutionally engrained if the heads of those who fail do not roll for several decades. And that entails your beloved Reagan and Bush I. incumbencies. How many CIA and FBI officials were exactly demoted for the abject failure of not preventing 9/11 ? Not one. They have held nobody of their ilk accountable. The US public deserves better than that.

Can you imagine in 1939 if the United States had taken YOUR advice, decided that it would be best NOT to declare war on the Nazis, Fascists, and Imperial Japanese and instead decided to stay out of the conflict deciding instead that this would constitute emulating the enemies' tactics and 'the end justifying the means.' Please think HARD about this as the world today faces a crisis of at least equal magnitude coming from al-Qaeda related ambitions in the Islamicized portions of the globe. Is this really what you think we should be doing??
In my view those who are unwilling to defend democracy do not deserve to live in one. I include the French in this outlook. The United States has NOT targeted civilians intentionally during the war on terror not in Iraq, not in Afghanistan. Targeting civilians is the primary tool Islamist terror networks use. And has been doing for over 13 centuries.
Saddam Hussein declared Holy War (or jihad) against the United States in the early 1990s. We simply returned the favor. Leaving dictators like this man in power (and even supplying them with weaponry as France did in the 1990s to the tune of US $25 billion!!!!) leaves the world vulnerable. When such monsters believe the enemy is weak they attack. As we saw on 9-11 and numerous terror attacks throughout the 1990s. Hussein may or may not have been involved in 9-11 but he had motive to do so and he DID attack the WTC in 1993. Criminals always return to the scene of the crime, no? So it is possible he was involved.
Tyranny is never abolished without loss of life. The crime is permitting tyrants like Hussein to flourish in the first place. You can blame America here for that (I do), but it would be hypocrisy for you to, as France supported Hussein as well--even supplying him with weapons which he used to kill his own people with.
Anyway, France is in no position to talk. Its revolution in the late 1700s was extremely and unnecessarily bloody--far more so than the US-led invasion of Iraq was.

Prior to Sept 11, 2001 the CIA also had Osama in the crosshairs and asks for permission to kill him.One "hellfire" missled could have ended it all and saved thousands of lives. Clinton refused for fear that a nearby mosque would be damaged.The mosque was saved but 3000 Americans died instead.
